Beachfront vacation rentals in Ostional

We only stayed here one night but immediately wished we had booked at least three! This handmade beachfront bungalow was an absolute dream, and we hope to return with our kids. Beatrice was a fantastic host who thought of every little detail. The bungalow was directly on the beach, offering breathtaking views and a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere. Sitting on the porch, listening to the waves, was pure bliss. The outdoor kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need—drinkable water, dishes, a small stove, fridge, and even seasonings. The outdoor shower was clean and refreshing. A heads-up to bring bug spray, as there are small gaps in the floor, but it only adds to the authentic, simple Pura Vida experience of Costa Rica. This stay was truly special, and we can’t wait to come back!

Perfect getaway spot! My husband and I stayed here for a few days and did not want to leave. Nice secluded beaches and wonderful local restaurants to grab tacos and pizza! Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family!

Such a beautiful oasis steps from the beach!If you are lucky, you can hear and see howler monkeys in the trees!!! It was the perfect blend of comfort and rugged while giving the jungle vibe we were looking for!

This place was so lovely! Surrounded by greenery and very private. Howler monkeys could be seen and heard each day. The pool was amazing and so refreshing on the super hot days. Comfortable beds and any amenities you need for your stay were provided. We will cherish our memories here!

Casa Bosque will forever be in our happy memories! My family had such an incredible stay here. The hosts, Forest and Andrea, were so attentive to our questions or needs. She even made us sourdough bread one morning! They were respectful of our space and felt genuinely glad we were enjoying ourselves. They took our families sunset pics the last night. It was great getting to know them! The home is picturesque and has everything you need to enjoy Playa Negra. The beautiful pool overlooked the ocean and tropical landscape. It was refreshing to lounge in during the heat of the day. The kitchen had every amenity we needed to fix coffee, breakfast, and lunch. We chose to try restaurants in the area for dinners each night. Howler monkeys delighted us a couple of days when we could see the family hopping through the trees. The beach out front was a dream to walk out to from your own private entrance. We will definitely be putting this home on our “go back to” list. We enjoyed every minute!!

Probably my favorite Airbnb of all time. What a wonderful place to stay. I've never thought a place was nicer than the pictures until we stayed here! It was so much bigger and just as nice as it looks. Very highly recommend for families or groups. With 3 bedrooms - all with a bath/shower - you can spread out no problem. The pool was amazing and my son's favorite part of the trip! Abraham (Concierge) was absolutely amazing. Took care of so much for us and helped with planning some outings. This place was off the main drag of everything in Tamarindo in a good way. Still close enough to go eat, etc. The beach is super walkable - but note right out front is not really a swimming beach. It's sporadically rocky all up and down the coast and you have to walk about 15 min either north or south to get to a swimming spot. Can also just drive a bit to town, and access swim beaches from there too. I recommend going south to swim - prettier and way less people.

Our stay was great! Edwin and Kris were very communicative. We had a small issue and they were able to fix it right away. They gave fantastic local recommendations, and the location was ideal. Off the beaten path, but still close to many great spots. We very much enjoyed our time there!

Fantastic location steps from a beautiful and secluded beach. Stay does require a 4x4 vehicle to get in and out but well worth the effort!

They were gone of us staying at Kenneth‘s place in Playa grande. Six siblings +3 wives. We loved the private Casitas that All enjoyed us a communal spaces which brought us together as a family kitchen was very well stocked with shockingly sharp knives, which is somewhat unheard of in Airbnb’s. I would highly recommend the thing that this beautiful Villa spread over such a large area area so full of birds, holler monkeys, iguanas, and a glorious array of flora wherever we looked. The beach is about a 10 minute walk away and no matter what time of day or what love love tide. It was such a beautifully diverse ecosystem to enjoy. The water was very accessible, even to some of us with mobility issues if you have a good size group of people, I highly highly recommend Villa luna grande. You will not be disappointed. We can’t wait to come back again to enjoy all of this.

Favorite Airbnb we have ever stayed at

We loved staying Aaron’s home, it felt like an oasis with a beautiful garden and private pool. It was only a few minutes walk to Playa Guiones, with walkable distance to surf board rentals, cafes and delicious restaurants. The home was beautifully appointed with comfortable beds and lots of storage. We felt welcomed and well taken care of at every turn, muchas gracias Aaron!

We just finished up a great stay- the view and the pool make this place 100% worth the stay. Douglas was very responsive and even installed a railing for the steps as my mom had trouble going up and down and the staircase didn’t have one. Very helpful with my questions and advice prior to arriving. The house is hard to find in the dark on the rural roads. More clear directions like look for the white car port might be helpful for future guests.

We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. Convenient location, with private parking and all the amenities anyone could need! We would stay here again and I would highly recommend to friends and family.

We had a great stay at Jeff and Gina’s place! They were great communicators from the beginning. Instructions were very clear on finding the unit, and it is in a gated community so felt safe. The location was perfect for us! With a 12 and 16 year old, it was fun to drive the golf cart we rented into Tamarindo where it is much busier. But then we could retreat to the quieter Langosta at the end of the day. We loved the beach club, which is very close to the condo. There is also a nice market/restaurant, Fish and Cheeses, across the street. Jeff and Gina had a nice guide that we could access with info about the condo and local recommendations. The condo was clean and it was nice to arrive to a big platter of fruits for our stay. We loved watching the howler monkeys in the tree right outside! We recommend this place for a great stay.

Oscars home is absolutely amazing! It is quite literally right on the beach. It has everything you needed plus some. The beds were extremely comfortable, AC in the bedrooms were an added bonus. Everything was beautiful and clean upon arrival. We felt very safe and enjoyed the caretaker Reinaldo next door, he was very sweet and helped with anything we needed.

Views of Samara Bay are absolutely magnificent, and listening to wave is always soothing. It was clean and comfortable and provided a good base to explore Sámara and adjacent villages and beaches.

This place was absolutely perfect for our surfing trip!! Private beach access, beautiful yard looking out to the ocean and spacious home. The hostess was responsive and communicative and very friendly and helpful if we had any questions. I hate to write this review as I don’t want anyone else to know about the place as I would like to keep it to ourselves next year. ☺️. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here. Absolutely a wonderful place and wonderful hosts!!

The view, the beach, and the pool make this place worth it. Beautiful property and lovely home. Douglas was a great host. The road into the place was fine with our Rav4. This place was our favorite Airbnb in Costa Rica that we stayed at! Well worth the drive to this place. There are a few restaurants not too far. I recommend doing a grocery run before heading to the Airbnb, only small grocery stores close by.

We had a great stay!! The hosts were extremely responsive and hospitable through every interaction, even sourcing a play pen for my infant during our stay. The location was perfect and walkable to restaurants, grocery stores and the beach. It had everything we needed for a family of 4 with 2 children under 2 years old. We'd definitely come back!

Brea and Todd were amazing hosts and would absolutely stay with them again! Kind, thoughtful and most helpful with recommendations and suggestions. We unfortunately did not get to meet Brea but Todd was always available but never intrusive. Sad we had to leave. I can see why people visit and never leave! Highly recommend for all the surf vibes without the chaos.

Your house was beautiful. The house, along with brand new bathrooms and air conditioners were wonderful. The air conditioners worked excellent along with the ceiling fans and I am warm natured. I was always very comfortable. The setting was truly gorgeous. I won`t forget the priceless sunsets we watched most nights from the multiple decks or on the beach 150 steps away or the cliff above the beach. The neighborhood was gorgeous and extremely secure. You never had to worry about anything being in a locked gate community. Everything we needed was provided from pots and pans to an ice chest and chairs if you needed them. The pool was nice too and the surfboard shower. Having 2 1/2 bathrooms was very nice. Everything about the house was ideal. Unfortunately I was at a large gathering before we came and got sick and brought it with me. We stayed inside a lot and got out when we were feeling up to it. Ron and Crysta were so helpful!!!

This is a great place to stay with a large family. It was maybe a bit too much space for me, my wife, and two friends but we loved the location and amenities! The place is as exactly as described and we really enjoyed the pool/patio and the beach was a minute or two walk :) the Crazy Monkey bar is right around the corner and it does get a little rowdy on Friday night, but no complaints here! Had 4 drinks during the 2 hours window for $10! We loved our time in Tamarindo.
