A really lovely, homely place to stay. Very convenient for the Golden Circle yet tucked away in a lovely peaceful location. Fantastic to sit in the hot tub at the end of a busy day.

This is a beautiful place - peaceful, isolated and modern. We spent a wonderful 36 hours here which will live long in our family memories. Spacious, hot tub, sauna, karaoke room, snow and views without outside noise or disturbance. Gazing at the stars or pondering the glow of the greenhouses, It was exactly what we needed

We had an unforgettable stay at this Airbnb! The property was incredibly comfortable, well-maintained, and had everything we needed to feel at home. The highlight of our trip was getting to see the aurora right from the property!! it was truly magical and something we’ll never forget. The host was extremely responsive and attentive, ensuring we had all the information we needed for a smooth and enjoyable experience. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, which we greatly appreciated. Overall, this Airbnb exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and memorable getaway, especially if you’re chasing the aurora! Helga is a fantastic host! The property was great and was perfect for the reason we went to Iceland - Aurora Borealis !!! The northern lights were so great and we enjoyed them right from the deck of the cabin. Walking around the entire home while taking photos was perfect. The hot tub is excellent and the kitchen had everything we needed. We were greeted with a tasty cake and enjoyed the kitchen daily. Great hot water and shower. Slept so well in the comfy beds and linen. I can’t say enough about this property. Already trying to figure out when we are visiting again. Absolutely the best trip we could have had. The location is perfect for so many different sites inThe Golden Circle and the Geyser area!! Waterfalls were beautiful and within driving distance. A geothermal spa is just moments away. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

This home made for such an amazing experience and really added to our trip. We loved the hot tub, sauna and doing the cold plunge as well! It’s really well located to get to so many sights and hikes. A very short drive takes you to shops, a fuel station, restaurants, hot springs and more (or you can take the canoe!). It literally had everything we needed, as well as a very thoughtful and much appreciated welcome hamper. The instructions on how to find the place were so clear and we had no trouble at all. Hafsteinn also sent over many useful links and information before our trip which made life a lot easier. They kept in touch with any important updates and even checked in to make sure we found it OK in the Icelandic weather. I could go on, but just book it - you will not be disappointed!

The home was welcoming and quiet. We had one small issue and we received a quick response. The house was very close to secret lagoon and walkable yo restaurants. Very centrally located for day trips

If I could give this location 10 stars I would! It was comfortable and large. Great modern kitchen. Comfortable beds. Fantastic hot tub. Open and airy. Plus there’s an amazing waterfall across the street!! Stunning. Also an easy 15 drive to Selfoss.

This house was perfect. The hostesses met us when we arrived, gave us instructions on things they wanted us to make sure we knew (for safety and such due to the temperatures), and spent around 2 hours giving us a tour and history of the house. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed and they were so thoughtful with all of their recommendations for activities with our children. We 100% recommend this house to others and we will be coming back in the future!

We chose to stay in Laugarvatn for 2 nights and we're so glad we did. The town of Selfoss nearby had plenty to do, see, and eat. The home here was super homey, clean, and perfect for our group of 6. It's across the street from a natural hot spring and cafe/coffee shop. Our crew loved spending one of our mornings there! The drive into the town was spectacular. It's a great gateway into the Highlands, as well! Would highly recommend this stay! The host was excellent!

Very nice place with lovely views. close to lots of great attractions. Spa just blocks away was a treat.

Wonderful place to stay, particularly if you are interested in going to the Fontana baths. Less than a 5 minute walk so great to get back 'home' after a long day of driving then walk over to the baths to relax. Place was very comfortable, clean, well appointed and the host is very responsive. Highly recommend!

Jona was a terrific host and her cottage was perfect for our family of three. we had great conditions for viewing the northern lights and away from any light pollution so we could really enjoy their beauty!

Best location! My husband and I stayed here for my birthday weekend in January and loved it. Everything you need was available, the YouTube video of how to find the cottage off the main HWY was exact, the appliances were clean and easy to use, the beds were comfortable and the location was ideal to get to places on the east and west side of destinations and Smári was very prompt at communicating with us. We were so lucky to see the Northern light from the comfort of our front deck since we had very little light pollution at that location. Just simply incredible. Can’t wait to go back, hopefully very soon.

A little difficult to find at first but well worth the stay! Great central location for Icelandic activities in the Golden Circle, south villages/beaches, and lots of waterfalls!

Fantastic views! Saw the most AMAZING northern lights one night! Huge space in front of the cabin to watch the skies. And a beautiful sunrise over the mountain. Hot tub is awesome! Never been in a geothermal heated one before, never loses temperature, always more warm water coming into the middle by your feet! Very clear instructions on how to find it etc. Wish we could have stayed another night.

The house and location is absolutely stunning. The house had everything we needed as two adults with a 4 year old. Access was great and it is a great location to explore lots of places. Elmar was always there when we needed him, super helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend staying here.

We had the most wonderful time at Jona’s place. The house was in such a peaceful and relaxing location — perfect for enjoying the south coast and golden circle. We loved the large windows, and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals. The kids toys were a great bonus!
