Nice place to stay with plenty to see around! I worked remotely here and enjoyed the kitties daily visits on the back porch! In unit laundry was wonderful and having all the appliances I needed- kettle, microwave! Thanks for the great stay!

Wow is the best word I can think of to describe this magical cabin. A little on the remote site but still next to a small town with a gas station and a small market, this place is the place to book if you’re looking to get away and be in nature. My friend and I went in the middle of winter and you definitely need an AWD vehicle and snow tires. Also bring some shoe spikes for the ice lol it was a little difficult getting our things up and down the hill but my goodness it was so worth the effort. The beds were so comfortable and warm and the entire place felt really comfortable and homey without being cluttered. I would recommend either light on the luggage or come during the summer months to avoid the trek up and down the hill. Thank you again!! Till next time 😄🙏🏼

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is very spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable and it was nice to have additional amenities to use, particularly a washer and dryer. Our favorite part was the hot tub! We would definitely stay here again.

This house was perfect. The hostesses met us when we arrived, gave us instructions on things they wanted us to make sure we knew (for safety and such due to the temperatures), and spent around 2 hours giving us a tour and history of the house. It was absolutely perfect for what we needed and they were so thoughtful with all of their recommendations for activities with our children. We 100% recommend this house to others and we will be coming back in the future!

We stayed at Hallfrìður’s place at the end of September and all I can say is wow! The space was amazing, we chose to mainly self cater and the lodge was kitted out with everything we could possibly need. It is situated in a small, quiet town with stunning views and the location is perfect for the likes of the Golden Circle, Secret Lagoon, snowmobiling at Gullfoss and snorkelling at Silfra. A fair drive from Reykjavik but having visited Iceland before I knew we would be doing the above activities so the location for us was perfect. Hallfrìður was a great host, she gave us clear instructions on how to get to the lodge and met us there to explain how everything works, very responsive throughout. To top it all off we got some amazing views of the Northern Lights from our front door! A truly special holiday!

A really lovely, homely place to stay. Very convenient for the Golden Circle yet tucked away in a lovely peaceful location. Fantastic to sit in the hot tub at the end of a busy day.

We couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Rut and her husband were incredibly kind, warm, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The accommodation was clean, well-equipped, and felt like a true home away from home. Every detail was thought of to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The hosts went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a perfect and quiet getaway. The place is beautiful, spotless and modern, and allows you to seamlessly hunt for the Northern Lights from the comfort of a hot tub, All of the amenities / supplies are there to suit your needs. Nökkvi is responsive and thorough, and kind. We admittedly had an issue, outside of his control, and he rectified it as soon as practical. Would recommend!

We had an unforgettable stay at this Airbnb! The property was incredibly comfortable, well-maintained, and had everything we needed to feel at home. The highlight of our trip was getting to see the aurora right from the property!! it was truly magical and something we’ll never forget. The host was extremely responsive and attentive, ensuring we had all the information we needed for a smooth and enjoyable experience. They went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, which we greatly appreciated. Great spot for a large group hoping to see the Northern Lights and get to south Iceland!

Easy to find, convenient and safe to stay

Helgi's accommodation is located in the middle of the Golden Circle, i.e. Geysir, Gullfoss, Geobad Laugarvatn Fontana, Geobad Hidden Lagoon Fludir and Phingvellir are all within easy reach. The house is ideal for families. There is also a hot tub that is a little off the beaten path between the trees. This is important, as hot tubs are generally very noisy when they heat or bubbles. This can be very disruptive at night, as it is easy to transfer vibrational noises. It's not Helgi because the hot tub is not on the terrace. Important for Aurora Hunter: The location of the house is ideal for aurora lights, as you are quickly on an open level without lights. We have been to Helgi's for the 2nd time now and can highly recommend everything.

We stayed here with 8 people for Christmas and it was beautiful! Great space to gather and spend time together. A relatively close drive to many attractions, and a very clean space. The hosts are so friendly and were responsive to our (many) questions. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting with a large group!

It is a beautiful cabin in the middle of nowhere. It was farther than we had home to items we wanted to see. However, the setting was quiet and secure, one could not hear any traffic. The only downside was the Jaquzzi didnot heat up and kept flipping the breaker. We were never able to use or enjoy it. We did reach out to Hafsteinn he tried to help us get it working, but it never did. That was the reason for choosing this location.

This place was an excellent choice for our large group of 7 adults and 2 kids. The house was in a central location for us, easy to get to the areas we wanted to see on our visit. It is located in a somewhat isolated area, so recommend stopping at a grocery store to stock up. Restaurants are few and require reservations, many closed on Sundays. Very picturesque location with good views of the northern lights! Helga was a great host, we would definitely book again!

WOW! That is the best description of Geirthruder's place. Maybe even more perfect than the photos. A perfect location to easily check out the Golden Circle The layout of her house is great with the living area dividing the two bedroom areas. Easy entrance, over-the-top kitchen, cozy woodburning fireplace, presitine in every way.... and THE VIEW!!! And the quiet!!! We cooked a good bit, just for fun. There is an amazing food market just a few minutes away (which was a highlight of our stay), Little Farmers Market. Staying at Geirthrudur's is a must!!!
