Vacation rentals with lake access in Purbeck District

This was our second stay at John's Barn and we couldn't be happier - such a lovely place to stay, it truly feels like a home-away-from-home. The barn is really cozy and is surrounded by nature - this time we even came home to a small herd (maybe 10 or 12) deer who were walking along the road one night in the fog! We often saw deer, rabbits, foxes, and the odd farm cat on our walks around the grounds and along the nearby rambling trails. We don't get back to the UK very often but when we do we love staying at this property. It's very well kept, is in great location, and Bobbie is a lovely, helpful host. We can't wait to come back!

We had an amazing weekend at the cottage! It was the perfect setting for our weekend away! So cosy and surrounded by amazing walks and pubs. Also James and Jane were the best - so helpful and friendly. Definitely would recommend!

We had a wonderful Christmas at Karen's place! The house was beautiful and really spacious - and Karen had made sure we had everything we needed - including all the pots and pans we needed to cook Christmas lunch for 7 in her lovely kitchen! Could not recommend more highly - it was clean, warm, and comfortable - and in a lovely location with a pub a minute's walk away!

Great little find! We had a lovely stay as a young family. Such a gorgeous location on the river - lots to do in the area for children. House was immaculate when we arrived. Comfy beds. Fully stocked with all cleaning basics, tea bag’s etc. only slight improvements to be made would be black out blinds in the bedrooms, WiFi very slow and would be great if there was an information booklet provided as there was a sauna and some sports equipment included with the lodge and we had no idea until the end of our stay. Overall a fantastic holiday and we would definitely return.

What a fabulous place to stay. The house is spacious and so beautifully furnished. It was spotless with everything you need to immediately relax. Mel made us all so welcome in her communications and the welcome package was such a kind gesture. The house is so well located and I would highly recommend a visit. I would agree with many of Mel’s reviews that this house is one of the best Airbnb’s we have stayed in.

Luxurious property in a lovely, peaceful location. The host had thought of every little detail to make it a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The garden and countryside views are beautiful and it was so calming sitting on the deck by the stream. I will definitely be going back.

Wow !! We just hosted our best Christmas so far thanks to Jamie’s beautiful home. I can’t thank him enough ! He put a real Christmas tree up for my young family and left us a box of chocolates on arrival. His home was spotless and we really didn’t want to leave. The views are amazing and every time you look out the windows there is wildlife for you to see. We hope to be back next year. Thank you again for the lovely memories !!

Lovely tractor house to stay in. Has all the things you’d expect in a studio flat. Not very accessible if you don’t have a car fyi (not a fault of the place at all) but otherwise lovely.

This property has got to be in the best position right on the sea front. Everything on your doorstep including the beach. The flat is deceptively spacious and has pretty much everything you need and more. Don is a legend and from the moment I booked this flat nothing was too much trouble and very informative. can't wait to go back!!!

We needed a peaceful and off the grid stay and that is exactly what we got. The place is next to two lakes and surrounded by nature. A bit cold for us to take advantage of the water but a reason to come back in the summer. The perfect hosts that were flexible with a last minute check out request from us. A great base to also see The Purbecks and the sounding area. 10/10

The caravan’a main living area felt much more spacious than we imagined and there was quite a good sea view. It was right by the amenities yet still quiet. Parking was a little tricky but we have a big car and you can always use the main car park which always had spaces and felt very safe. Lovely resort with friendly, helpful and professional staff.

I was very happy to stay at Sunset Cabin. It was so much fun from the moment I entered. You have to input a code on the door and find the key, which makes it feel like a treasure hunt. When I entered the living room, I was immediately drawn to the clean and fun decor and furnishings. The kitchen supplies were very complete, with all the utensils I needed. Then there were all the little lights in the room, which made it feel cozy and pleasant. The sunset cabin in the yard was also very nice, where I could listen to music and enjoy the sunset. But the spider web on the ceiling was a bit scary. The room was very quiet and overall it was a very satisfying Airbnb experience. It felt like the host was treating the cabin as a cultural product rather than just a simple accommodation. Thank you again to dear Erika and John.

What a lovely peaceful location overlooking the lake! All arrangements and communications were great and Frederick made sure we were settled with friendly information about the property and area. The flat had all the home comforts, was well presented and clean and we really enjoyed the views whilst dining and relaxing! The added bonus of safe parking and the flat being in walking distance from everything ensured we had a very relaxing stay!

Spacious, very comfortable cottage in a beautiful estate in the New Forest, with wildlife all around you. Perfect location from which to explore the area. Sandra welcomed us on arrival and provided a lot of useful information.

Wonderful place to stay. Beautiful little cottage, amazing grounds to walk around - kids loved the zip wire. House is really well thought out - especially for kids. Hazel was a fantastic host.

April Cottage was spotlessly clean. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. We would love you come back and stay again :)

We had a wonderful stay, the cottage was lovely and in a perfect location near to nice restaurants (the red lion was great). The courtyard was really safe for our dog, and the estuary being so close was a huge bonus for taking out our kayak and paddleboard! Couldn’t recommend it more, thank you 😁

We spent 3 lovely nights at Jane’s place, which served as a lovely warm, cozy spot for my family and in-laws. The house was beautifully decorated for Xmas and there was a festive hamper waiting for us on arrival. All 3 bedrooms were very comfortable, each with ensuite bathrooms. Whilst the house is located next to a fairly busy road, we weren’t bothered by the noise and the location was just a short drive to the nearby towns and a selection of good eateries (Rosie Lee House and Daisy Tea Garden make great breakfasts /lunches / cakes). Jane is a responsive host and gave us plenty of tips on where to visit. I’m sure the house also makes a great spot during summertime given the expansive front lawn and bbq set.

The lodge is beautifully furnished, has excellent heating & hot water and to be honest, it surpassed our expectations. Lisa & David were incredibly welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make our stay one to remember. The walks around the lakes are perfect for the dogs & the view is so relaxing. We have already booked to stay again!

It's a lovely well appointed place surrounded by acres of countryside to explore. The hosts were very responsive, and the place was setup for self check-in between 4-6pm which just makes a long travel day so much easier. Location wise, it was easy to get to the FarmShop in Bruton for some local provisions and to other recommended destinations in the area. We will definitely stay again the next time we head this way!

Fantastic little place, just off of the main area in Milford. It has everything you need in the house and was immaculately decorated and spotlessly clean. We were told that there is a tight bend into the parking space and there is. We got through with a focus, a large 4x4 might need to breath in a bit. We would definitely stay here again.
