Vacation rentals with lake access in England

Beautiful house in a beautiful location. Great hosts who were extremely helpful and responding straight away when I had enquiry. Lots of restaurants around and loads of things to keep the whole family occupied. Will definitely be back in the summer.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house was in a lovely location within the facility with gorgeous views of the lake. The whole house was warm and cosy and had everything we needed. It really suited us with a toddler. Plenty of books and games and there were tennis rackets and table tennis bats if we needed them. Instructions from the owner were clear and she was very responsive to any questions we had. She provided us with lots of information about the surrounding area including recommendations for places to eat and attractions to visit. Thank you Jayne.

Great stay - lovely location overlooking the lake & we enjoyed the toys & board games. We also enjoyed the games room and tennis. The house was cozy, clean and well equipped and Sharon was very responsive. Nice walks nearby & an easy drive to Cirencester.

We booked the boathouse for our honeymoon and couldn’t have been happier! Lesley is extremely thoughtful and left a lovely care package! We were warmed about work going on next door but it did not bother us at all so wouldn’t let it put you off booking this amazing place! The furnishings were beautiful, robes and loads of towels. The superking bed was probably the comfiest I’ve slept in! The hot tub has fantastic views - we watched the sunset from it! Sliders, plastic glasses and extra towels in a basket in the hallway. Lesley responded promptly to any question and was always helpful and friendly, Our stay was a perfect honeymoon treat!

We had an amazing two-night stay at Andy and Anne’s lakeside lodge —it was the perfect little getaway. The place was spotless, nicely furnished, and had everything we needed. Waking up to the lake views was a dream, and we loved looking out over the deck in the mornings. The lodge itself was super cozy yet modern, with comfy beds and a great kitchen. The whole area was so quiet and peaceful with plenty of dining options in the area, and still close to Cirencester for a day out. Shame about the weather, but it didn’t spoil our stay. We’ll definitely be back soon! Hopefully sometime in the summer to make the most of the lake!

Overall, was a wonderful stay!. the place was wonderful and we really loved the kids toys/books. We would definitely consider coming back.

A beautiful house in a stunning location, could not think of anywhere better to spend New Year. The location was amazing, next door is currently being refurbished but this wasn’t a problem as it was the holidays, there were no workers on site. I can only imagine once this work is completed the property will be even more amazing than it is already. The gardens are magical, but the advice to be careful and watch small children is useful as it is steep and not suitable for everyone. It rained none stop while we were there (can’t help the weather) so the large hallway was great for drying the dogs snd leaving our mountain of coats, hats and boots. There was a small issue with the hot water but Kate responded immediately and sorted it out straight away. To top it off there were four separate firework displays in Grasmere which we could see from the front window, lighting up the lake. A brilliant New Year. We have already checked if it’s available for next year but someone beat us to it!

We had a lovely time! The house is well-equipped, clean, and very comfortable. It has a great location in the Cotswolds, near beautiful towns and right by a lake with plenty of wildlife and tranquility. Highly recommended!

Brilliant location and accommodation! John was very helpful and even made up the sofa bed for us, as we were arriving late! Very highly recommended.

Really great location to get into Portsmouth via the ferry. Lovely clean flat with super comfy beds. Host had kindly left tea and coffee etc. The Bakehouse bar/ restaurant round the corner on the waterfront is worth a visit. Great communication from owner. 100% recommend.

Lorraine's place was brilliant, better than we expected, the apartment was very luxurious. In a great location we could walk into the town/ city center, to the cathedral for the choir service, walk to the Albert dock, to the bars. Basically we had one of the best Christmases ever, Lorraine very kindly put a tree and decorations up for us. The views from the apartment were stunning. We would defiantly stay there again and probably will. Thanks Lorraine kind regards Graham and Julie.

This was our second stay at Michelle's place and we found the flat to be as lovely as the first time. The check in instructions were clear and we found the parking spot with no trouble. The rooms were spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. We also appreciated the lovely welsh cakes Michelle had left out for us. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.

The Sail Loft was clean and well equipped with a lovely view of the lake. It was ideal for our next section of the South West Coast Path. Jen was a friendly and responsive host willing to share information and answer questions. No hesitation in recommending the property.

Thanks for a lovely stay! We had an incredible time at Swirl How and would highly recommend. There was a small issue with the radiators however our host (Sharon) was extremely proactive in resolving it, went above and beyond. Our host was very friendly and approachable. This is a super comfortable apartment with a perfect location to enjoy Windermere and surrounding areas. Easy transport (train and buses) nearby. Can't wait to visit again!

We absolutely loved our stay at Lucy’s place. It was one of the cleanest places we’ve stayed. While the property is free of clutter, there are decorative touches that make it feel like a home from home. The personal touches like the tea and coffee, biscuits and dog treats were lovely too. The location was brilliant and the resort itself was beautiful. Short but steep walk to the beach made my dog a very happy boy, and the very short (3 min) walk to the pub made my partner very happy too - win win! Would highly recommend and we will be stopping again in the future. Thank you Lucy! ❤️

It is a really nice place to stay. Kids really enjoyed the bath time The place is very quiet and not far away from the town centre. Liam also kindly offered the high chair for the baby. We have spent a pleasant time here.

Great place, easy access and a lovely location

A stunning cottage perfect for a country getaway. This has to have been one of our beat Airbnb experiences. Every single detail had been thought about. Amazingly functional kitchen, cosy living area, spacious and comfortable bedroom and an outstanding bathroom. For those who love a bath… look no further! The facilities for dogs was also thoughtful which included dog blankets, biscuits and even a poo bag bin! I really can’t say enough what a pleasure it was to stay here!

Joe and sue were amazing hosts throughout my stay. They were available during any questions I had and also very helpful during the storm in January. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants an escape to the country, can’t thank them enough. Will definitely be back !!

Great cottage for our family stay in Windermere, we couldn’t have asked for a better property and location. The property was really nice and clean, well resourced and set up with everything you could have needed during the stay. We made use of the complimentary leisure facilities for all the family. Great location with lots of bars, restaurants, choice of supermarkets and easy bus and train routes. We would love to return and carry on exploring the area using the cottage as our base.

A truly stunning and remarkable home tucked in the heart of Lake Windermere. We loved our stay here and recommend this place to everyone! The children loved the hot-tub and exploring the woods which led straight onto Lake Windermere. Mark & Ruth were so hospitable leaving us a complimentary welcome basket and daily gifts! And even created a marble slope In the woods for the children, making it a remarkable and enjoyful break during half term. One of the best Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in worldwide for sure! Last week we had the pleasure of staying in Wren Cottage for 3 nights. Prior to our arrival Daphne, was super proactive in sharing detailed information in preparation for our stay and there was further information upon our arrival, with some great recommendations for local walks, one of which we explored on our final day. Wren cottage itself was spotlessly clean, warm, cosy, comfortable and very well equipped. However the real highlight for us was its beautifully tranquil location and direct access onto the stunning Coniston lake, where we were able to fully immerse ourselves in nature through both sitting by the lakeshore and paddle-boarding. We will definitely look to return to Wren in the future and would recommend it to anybody looking for a nourishing, country escape.

we had a great stay. perfect for my daughter and I, cosy and comfortable. had everything we needed. Joy was very communicative and helpful. location was perfect for our holiday walking the smaller fells and visiting places of interest. also handy for Keswick. would definitely recommend. thank you!!!

This was a beautiful spot, nice & private & accessible to the lake for a beautiful sunset pic opportunity. Very clean & tidy on arrival & we tried our best to leave it as we found it.
