Vacation rentals with lake access in Lake Taupo

Sarah was a wonderful host and her place felt like home. We had everything we needed for a week in Taupo. Close to a shopping market and the walking path on the lake, the place was quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful location. Great house for our two family home holiday. Stayed in April and the heating was lovely. The heated pool was a nice surprise. Plenty of private areas if you needed space. Having access to the walking track by the lake was fantastic. House is starting to need some love but still a very lovely stay.

From the moment we arrived Terry went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay, even sending through local recommendations for places to eat. The house was exactly as described and location couldn’t have been any better for the event we travelled to. We didn’t have a car but the town centre and shops were within walking distance. Terry’s communication was fantastic throughout. We really appreciated the extra effort to make us feel welcome and we hope to stay again.

We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful, bright unit with a spectacular view of the lake. The kitchen is clean, the living/dining room is spacious and well decorated. The bed was comfortable. We enjoyed the relaxing thermal bath, that was a bonus.

John is a great host. Always response and good suggestions to us. The house is much more better than the photo it shows. We left a baby pillow in the house, he helps to send it back to Auckland to us. Really thankful for his response and actions.

Everybody like the place. tidy and clean. Great host. Highly recommended.

All I can say is WOW! Gorgeous location and walking distance to town. We were met at the place by Sugar "Sug", who walked us through the entire home AND gave us great ideas about eating, drinking and exercising. There was milk in the fridge and flowers on the table...it truly felt like home! Thanks to all, JT

Lloyds place was in a block of 8 flats with close neighbours on same level and above. Heck in time coincides with the end of the school day so lots of children from neighbouring units up and down the stairs and doing what children do. The location was great and the place was very well presented considering the age of the building. Lloyd was very accomodating when we left something behind.

We loved our stay at Irene's flat. The place was beautiful and peaceful. We felt right at home and enjoyed the views from the balcony. Would love to visit again in the future.

Marki’s place is fantastic. It’s spacious, sparkling clean and incredibly comfortable. We had an amazing stay at Marki’s place and loved looking out over the lake from the patio. Direct lake access was an added bonus! Marki and Chris are the perfect hosts.

My husband and I were in town for the NZ Ironman. The location was absolutely perfect. Liz and her partner were very kind and welcoming. Would definitely recommend if visiting Taupo!

We really enjoyed our stay and thought the property was really lovely . The property was in a really good location - easily walkable to the centre but in a really pretty spot by the river and near the Marina and so felt like you were in a peaceful and quiet location. The property was really well maintained - modern design , very light , well furnished , good kitchen with all the appliances etc that you could need. Very clean and tidy. Air con in living room and in bedroom at bottom of house. Note that basic cooking staples ( oil , herbs etc) not included. Not a problem for us but just mentioning so you can bring your own if you want to cook. We really enjoyed the area - loads to do. Overall we were really happy.

We loved our 12 day stay and didn't want to leave. Spacious rooms, high ceilings, heated bathroom floors, adequate kitchen, bifold doors opening into lovely private courtyard gardens and then there is the panoramic view of the lake. Oh and the delux spa!! What a treat. Luxurious accomodation. Value plus! We will be back.

No frills cottage in a fabulous location across the road from the river (great for refreshing swims) and a few minutes' walk to Lake Taupo. Thoughtfully stocked with books and games and full kitchen. Zara was very welcoming. A tiny bit of noise from trucks on the highway.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Great location, walking distance to lake front. We loved the bach feel and admired the decor - ample books, DVDs and family board games to keep you entertained, and a classic table tennis table! Clean, tidy home to enjoy.

Such a perfect spot for our extended weekend away. The views were incredible (the photos don’t do them justice) and the cottage is just gorgeous. Sunny, super clean with a comfy bed that had its own views of the lake…. we didn’t want to leave!! Lisa was lovely, very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks for sharing your little slice of paradise with us…. We will definitely be back ❤️

Great place to stay right by the lake. Easy to get to Taupo from the house.
