Vacation rentals with lake access in New Zealand

Just great! We were a family group - from grandparents to school aged children. We loved the fenced off property directly on the lake shore. We had access to the kayaks & small tin boat. We had so much fun. The covered deck was a peaceful escape from the hot sun. We had a Christmas meal there, the kitchen is well fitted with platters & everything you need. The toilet & shower in the shed outside was a great bonus for our family. The hosts were always responsive. We didn’t use the hot tub, but it would be lovely! The view, the lake, and away from the congestion of Taupo.

Sarah was a wonderful host and her place felt like home. We had everything we needed for a week in Taupo. Close to a shopping market and the walking path on the lake, the place was quiet and peaceful.

Stayed at kristins place with my parents (mid 60s), my husband and toddler (4 years old). The house was large enough to accommodate everybody with plenty of space. The location is close to shops and all the major Rotorua activities seem to be within a 30 drive. The house has everything you could need, lake is beautiful and we all enjoyed using the kayaks. Area is very quiet and peaceful. Kristen was friendly and great to deal with, entry was very straightforward.

We booked Katrina's place for the Ironman in Taupo and it was amazing! The location was quiet, beautiful, and only 20 minutes from Taupo. It was walkable to a swimming area on the lake and to beautiful trails for running and biking. The house was immaculate and perfectly equipped for a week-long stay. My family and I were so comfortable here, I enjoyed it so much.

A slice of life right on the lake with front row seats to a breathtaking view. At night the stars were so vibrant. Everything was simple to use, and I can tell Amanda has considered her guests when it comes to using the space. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway with spectacular views every moment of the day. This property will certainly tick your boxes.

Our stay was awesome at Gail’s property, such a beautiful property and has everything you need. Gail also was such a clear communicator through every point of our stay. From booking until our Check out she kept me updated on anything we needed to know. Thank you Gail for your hospitality and I can highly recommend this place as a great option for your stay in Taupō.

This was a great place to stay and only 20 minutes from the hustle and bustle of town. 5 minute walk to the beach at the Lake and lovely store there as well that make Devine pizzas as long as you get there before they close at 7.

Incredible views and perfect location right opposite the lake and easy flat walk to everything. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in this lovely apartment and our host Karen provided so much great information on the local area that we couldn’t possibly get to everything she recommended. Guess we will just have to come back soon. 5+ stars for apartment and host!

The place is beautiful, peaceful and tranquil. Ray was quick to message back and keep you informed at every step. The place is wonderfully laid out and each room has its own bathroom which is fantastic for groups!

We had a lovely stay in Nigel's apartment. It had everything we needed to make dinner, a comfortable bed and a pleasant little terrace. Nigel was friendly and helpful. The apartment is in a beautiful area.

This place truly feels like home! The decor is very modern, the environment is incredibly clean, and all the amenities are well-prepared (though having some kitchen paper towels would make it even better). We really enjoyed our time in this accommodation. Even in bad weather the apartment was light and cosy The washing machine was great, because we are on an extended trip. We spend a lot of time on the balcony overlooking lake taupo. The booklet about the "before and after renovation" of the apartment was very impressive. We would come back anytime and can really recommend this accommodation

All Rob’s positive reviews are completely justified. The location, the house, the extras and his communication are all excellent. From fresh provisions to robes in the wardrobes there were so many lovely and thoughtful touches. We certainly hope to return.

The 3 bedroom cottage is just lovely, nicely furnished in lodge decor with everything needed in the kitchen including large pots/pans and cooking basics. Back deck with hot tub is private and faces farmland/ pine trees/mountains. Quiet, peaceful place to relax. Quick communication responses from the host, Clare. Great wifi reception. 5 minute walk to a reserve point that looks down the lake. Waterfront walking/biking nearby. Be sure to pickup groceries in Twizel as there are no stores in the small village of Lake Ohau. Highly recommend.

We had a pleasant stay at Judith's place. The entry was easy and Judith responded quickly to all queries. The location was very convenient to cycle the Dunstan Track, which was our aim for the visit. Highly recommended.

The place was absolutely stunning. Private time for me and my wife. Nice and cozy. There were kayaks, SUP boards to enjoy and the lake was right in front. We also lazed on the chairs to see a billion stars in the night! Florence and Rod were very nice to talk to and very helpful! Highly recommend a stay here in Okere falls over Rotorua (25 minute drive away)

What a beautiful place! Alec and his wife were very helpful when we had a question. Loved sitting on the porch in during the monsoon!

Perfect little get away, walking distance to lake, lots of home comforts like board games, fresh coffee, good TV, speaker, comfortable outdoor furniture. Would definitely recommend

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage near Lake Pukaki. The entire family loved it! The cottage is stunning, with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains that you can enjoy from every angle. It truly exceeded our expectations. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed, making our stay incredibly comfortable and relaxing. It’s also easy to find, which added to the stress-free experience. We had the best time here and didn’t want to leave. It’s the perfect spot for a peaceful getaway, and we’re already planning to come back for a longer stay. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a serene holiday with unforgettable views!

Perfect place for a quiet escape! Location is excellent. Close to lake and shops - very walkable. Beds comfy, kitchen has everything you’d require plus some. Will definitely stay again!
