Vacation rentals with lake access in Te Ika-a-Māui / North Island

Sarah was a wonderful host and her place felt like home. We had everything we needed for a week in Taupo. Close to a shopping market and the walking path on the lake, the place was quiet and peaceful.

Beautiful location. Great house for our two family home holiday. Stayed in April and the heating was lovely. The heated pool was a nice surprise. Plenty of private areas if you needed space. Having access to the walking track by the lake was fantastic. House is starting to need some love but still a very lovely stay.

Beautiful place , definitely enjoyed our stay . Catered to everyone’s needs . Communication was amazing even though it was a weekend thanks to Kristin and team . Most definitely recommend booking and looking forward to our next booking cheers

The house is in a great location and the rooms are spacious enough. You can see Taupo Lake from the living room. The only minor drawback is that the towels provided in the bathroom are not clean enough. Some turn yellow, while others are covered in dust. But our family still likes it very much and we live happily.

This is an awesome home. Well furnished and the kitchen has every item you need to cook up a feast. Very spacious and the swim in the river was great. We will be back one day.

We had THE best stay in a beautiful home, with beautiful surroundings and an amazing host! We could not ask for a better place and location to take my parents away during their visit to NZ! Thank you Terri for making our trip extra special and memorable.

What a wonderful lake hideaway. A peaceful spot within walking distance to the charming Kinloch village. A well organised home away from home with everything you need - and so much room to just relax and unwind. We particularly loved the spacious upstairs loft area, the amazingly soft bed sheets and the peace and quiet. Thank you so much for accomodating us and for your friendly, prompt communications. We would love to return sometime ❤

Lloyd was a great host. Always responsive and very welcoming. The apartment was clean and cozy. It was the perfect location, close to town and great views! Highly recommend and would definitely come back for our next stay in Taupō!

Tracy's place is beautiful, modern and clean, with photo's being very accurate to reality. Right over the road from a lovely park around the lake. Plenty of roadside parking, and nothing in Hamilton too far away. Check-in via a code was easy. We had a very pleasant stay - thank you!

Had an amazing stay here! Carmel and Daniel were incredibly warm and welcoming — they truly made us feel right at home. The house was spotless and super comfortable, perfect for relaxing and unwinding. Tucked away from the main road, it was wonderfully peaceful too. A big thank you to Daniel for taking the time to show us around their farm — such a unique and memorable experience, especially for someone from Singapore! One of the highlights was feeding apples to the sheep and goats, which was so much fun. Daniel even offered us some fruits and fresh eggs from his chickens to bring along for the rest of our New Zealand trip — such a kind gesture! This is definitely one of those rare Airbnbs I’d love to come back to, and next time, I’ll make sure to stay longer to soak in more of the farm life!

I thought it was a room under the hosts house however it turned out to be a lovely stand alone unit nicely decorated comfortable bed practical kitchen and lounge with lots of sun nice view of the lake and very peaceful I would highly recommend a stay at Irene's if you are in Taupo. It's a couple of minutes drive to the local dairy Bar and restaurant with nice food. And only about 5 or 6 minutes drive to the town centre

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful home ….. our hosts Marki and Chris were just wonderful and everything about the space and the surroundings was top notch. The furnishings, decor, attention to detail, lovely treats and overall vibe of the home was very special …. Walking distance to the most beautiful little bay, surrounded by nature was awesome. Would thoroughly recommend!!!

We loved our 12 day stay and didn't want to leave. Spacious rooms, high ceilings, heated bathroom floors, adequate kitchen, bifold doors opening into lovely private courtyard gardens and then there is the panoramic view of the lake. Oh and the delux spa!! What a treat. Luxurious accomodation. Value plus! We will be back.

Our repeat visit didn't disappoint. Everything you'll need to feel right at home has been thought of here. The veggie garden was abundant and we could help ourselves if we wished. Lots of thoughtful touches made us feel very welcome. The hosts are super friendly and lovely.

Rob’s lakeside retreat was wonderful!! It was clean and beautiful and perfect for our family! It was larger than we expected… plenty of room for the 5 of us to spread out. And the view was even better than we hoped! There was everything we could have wanted at our fingertips… robes, extra pillows, tea! Rob is extremely organized and helpful! We felt very lucky to stay at this property!

We had a wonderful stay at the Love Shack! Florence and her husband were lovely and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable during our stay. The property is very peaceful and close to everything in town. We hope to be back on our next visit!

We loved our stay! Was wonderful to be able to tie up our boat at the jetty and visit the hot pools. A very comfortable stay, and the kitchen was very well fitted out for cooking. Was also a great little walk to the cafe. Beautiful views and native birds. Alec was a great host and really appreaciate his great proactive communications. Would love to stay again.

Lovely spacious and well equiped kitchen, comfortable cottage and lovely outdoor fire and furniture. Nice large lawn and fully fenced property for pups to run around. Super close to the river and lake. Not far from Tongariro crossing. Perfect getaway.

We had the loveliest stay, beautiful house & great walks nearby & going down to the jetty early morning was gorgeous!

Such a relaxing stay, peaceful surroundings, outdoor bath tub and fireplace were well appreciated. 20 minute drive to great beaches and a classic pub. Highly recommend.
