Earth house vacation rentals in East Africa

The house has an enviable location, with views of both sunrise and sunset from the two platforms that stretch to almost touch the sea. The Garden is very well maintained with beautiful trees that shade part of the garden. The house is simple and tastefully furnished: colorful concrete floors, local canopy beds, a very comfortable hammock and - especially - a beautiful view from the many windows that open to the walls that look out to the sea. Roselle and Jeudi are discreet and always ready to meet any need. They speak like all Malgasci, French. Philippe (max) welcomed us upon arrival and departure and was always available to give advice or resolve small issues. All in a dreamy stay in the wonderful Nosy Komba. The staff are SO nice and the place is very beautiful. Ensure you check the conservancy fees which come on top of the Airbnb fees. Beautiful place though!

Chrystelle goes out of her way to make you feel welcome. The unit was perfect and had everything I needed. I would definitely recommend her place for a quiet stay outside of the hustle and bustle of the city.

Patrick was absolutely fabulous! Attentive, pro-active, and innovative! We shared recipes for dinners and our entire group just raved about food and accomodations.

District Relatives offers beautiful and peaceful surroundings, making it a truly unique place to stay. The beach is easily accessible, and there are plenty of activities available, many of which are recommended by the helpful staff. The food is delicious, though on the pricier side. I would definitely recommend this place.

Julia and family were the best hosts I’ve encountered on Airbnb so far. They went above and beyond to ensure we had a great stay and felt a part of the family. The house is ideally located being very close to highlands park. There are also a lot of fantastic restaurants close by. Sarah the housekeeper and George the lodge manager were very attentive and helpful too!

This place is such a gem! Serene setting, well-equipped house, hot shower, and comfy bed...it was much better appointed than many much more expensive properties I've stayed at. I would recommend bringing your own camp chairs or hammock to fully enjoy the outdoor space. I wasn't sure about following Google maps directions to pin the location, but it was bang on. Thanks Christine and Simon!

We LOVED the Masai lodge villa! Stunning view and a genuine nature experience close to Nairobi for us, two Swedish families with teenagers. We also enjoyed the pool at the lodge and the short walk to the bridge and Kitengela glass center. A small minus: there were not enough facilities in the house for self service for example no can opener or ability to brew coffee. Very! Rough road to get there. The uber driver was not happy. We also had to wait for the villa to be cleaned. But on the other hand we had plenty of time to check out, very relaxed which we enjoyed. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Angella and Derek, are first of all two angels who took care of us down to the smallest detail for our stay in this beautiful land that is Uganda. Angella is a fantastic cook and you will not find better food in Entebbe. Derek with his experience made us live the most beautiful safari of my life aboard a beautiful car that excites you because it allows you to see and feel all the scents and to fully experience all the emotions. Derek organized a 3 day Safari where everything was perfectly planned and managed. Ultimately I would say that the value for money I would say really fantastic, and then Angella and all her staff are not only excellent hoteliers, but they pamper you as if you were one of the family. Thank you very much and I hope to see you again soon.

Lovely place to stay with my family for 5 nights over New Year. Short walk to Beach, great chef Jacob and housekeeper Janet always there to help. Comfortable and clean. Lots of space. Great pool. House and eating area nicely shaded from the heat.

Amazing and beautiful place to chill with family and friends. Needs a bigger car for the roads but the place is definitely worth any hustle. Totally enjoyed the experience

Beautiful views, great staff. Would have loved to stay another night. Biggest downside: the bedroom gets really hot and there is no fan or mosquito net to feel comfortable leaving the windows wide open at night/sleep without blanket

we had this place with my group of friends,it was an amazing location. Peaceful,we even had the bonfire lit at night. And the chef ,Chef Mwaura who was a recommendation from Mark was super 👌 👍 his meals hit all the right spots .Enjoyed this immensely,definitely coming back

Where do I even begin? I booked the 'Glass House - Eye Candy' for the missus, for her birthday weekend away; something different from the norms of conventions of dining out and a dance, & immerse her a bit into my world of R&R. It’s a unique place with a quirky blend of Afro-Western design that draws you to the surrounding nature, but as a beach lover, she loved it, to say the least. The pool and the fireplace were amongst her favourite features. It's a place to immerse yourself completely into the forgotten art of completely switching off for relaxation. The hosts were flexible, courteous, and effectively communicative, & agreed that close family would join her in cutting the birthday cake, which was fabulous! I highly recommend it, especially for couples or young families in other houses like ‘The Pool House’ or if you need a bit of quiet, a cooling dip and a bite at Rolf’s Place away from the city. Thank you for your kind hospitality. We'll be back again for sure.
