Vacation rentals with breakfast in Vanua Levu

Beautiful place to be, helpful and friendly resort staff, plenty activities available. Short drive to town centre.

We stayed with Roland at his place in Dolphin Bay (Viola was away working). The view in the room was stunning - you could see the entire bay from their location, which is at the highest point on the property. We picked Roland's place because of the opportunities to dive with Roland, who is a certified dive instructor and has been living in Fiji for over 30 years as a native from Switzerland. A few points to note if you want to stay here: - It is remote. You will need to hire Roland & his team to pick you up and drop you off via boat, as there are no roads. The closest airport to fly into is Taveuni (Matei). - You will not have access to cook, not really. Meal plans aren't compulsory, but there really isn't another option unless you want to eat chips the entire time. We opted for the meal plan, and the food was incredible. - There isn't much to do. Bring a book, and enjoy your land-based time when not diving - It can be quite hot in the room with no breeze. There is no fan/AC

Vinaka, Willy for a wonderful stay! We had a great time! The location was excellent, such a beautiful part of the world. Welcome to campers paradise! This stay isn’t for everyone; you will be living in an ‘off grid’ bure, situated on the top of a cliff looking down on the local village. It’s set up on solar battery power with sufficient lights in the house and on the deck - bring a torch for the outdoors. Fresh rainwater a plenty, and a stove to boil your own drinking water if needed. Cold bucket showers to wash off the hot day and afternoons embracing the local way of life. Remember to bring plenty of the essentials you may need (mozzie spray, environmentally friendly soap, rain jacket for the boat ride etc) as this is as remote as it gets! Willy was a great host; very easy to communicate with prior to and very attentive throughout our stay. Willy ran some excellent activities like snorkelling near a sunken volcano and fishing for our dinner. Hope to be back soon, Meg and Justin

Exactly what airbnb is meant to be...clean private room, perfect to learn the Fijian culture and super cheap. Amo and her family took care of us and were our local guides for anything that we needed - ordering a taxi, arranging rides, going shopping or getting some great ice cream in town. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an authentic village experience, a budget stay in Taveuni, or a place to just feel at home 😊

More than I could have asked for. Hospitality! I accidentally locked myself out of the place after only being here for 15 mins. (Note: if you walk out the back door it will lock behind you 😁) They were so nice about getting me back inside. They were not upset or frustrated with me for being a pain. They offered MORE hospitality. There was fresh fruit waiting for me when I arrived which was fantastic. They took me on a tour of the area and showed me to the private waterfall and more. It was like they brought me into the family. But when I was at the place they didn't bother me at all. Very private and quiet. The waterfall was amazing and the view from up on the mountain is one of the greatest views I've ever seen. They are also right across the street from the ocean. Air conditioners worked very well. The animals on the property were fun to watch.

Jima's place exceeded our expectations on so many levels. While this homestay is nestled in a remote Fijian village setting powered by solar and generator, the family does a remarkable job of accommodating their guests. The home is rustic, but we were very comfortable. We are divers, and Sia and her family helped us with our laundry and gear, never seeming to mind all of our things drying on the porch. They also coordinated our transportation allowing for stops in town to shop anytime we needed anything. We felt like part of the family and part of the village. Sia's cooking is out of this world! Hands down better than any of the meals we had during our resort stay. Sublime green papaya curry!!! Walking down to the water each morning for the sunrise after hearing the drumbeats calling the village to prayer is an unforgettable experience, unlike any I have ever had. I'm so grateful for our time at Jima's. We learned so much and made connections that will last our lifetimes. Amazing!
