Monthly Rentals in Uffing am Staffelsee

Our time in Waltersberg with Georg and his wife was incredibly beautiful. The former calf stable has been converted with so much attention to detail and high quality, the garden is simply delightful and the view over the meadows into the mountains priceless. Georg and his wife are the warmest hosts you can imagine. You will be greeted at night and fog on the village road, so you don't have to look for the house for long and take it to the car on departure with a guest gift and say goodbye warmly. In between, there are days when Georg discreetly offers his help, advice and excursion tips, but otherwise you are completely undisturbed.

The apartment is cozy and east facing; every morning the yellow blinds are lit nicely by the rising sun. The location is beautiful, and centrally located within Bavaria. The Tirolerhof itself is less than 10 minutes by bicycle from Uffing, and the host generously provided my wife and I with two bicycles; trains leave North to Munich and South toward Garmisch every hour, allowing easy day trips to every city in between (Eschenlohe, Farchant, Ohlstadt, Murnau, Weilheim etc). The entire area is incredibly green rolling hills, with the Alps rising above them, and full of natural lakes for swimming. Bridget and her family are so kind, and after a month stay, we will miss them dearly. We spent many evenings with them around the fire or having dinner. They let me work with them in the field, harvesting grass for the cows' bedding. When my wife was ill, Bridget drove her to a doctor she is personally friends with. Wonderful place, wonderful family, I can't recommend it enough.

We had wonderful days in Grafenaschau! The apartment is very nicely located, as you can be on the road in all directions - via the Murnauer Moos to Murnau, to the Staffelsee and up into the mountains. Without a car, however, not recommended, there is no bus and the train station is a 40-minute walk. There you can park and then take the spa that runs the hour once. We were so lucky to have sun and snow all the time! Grafenaschau is very quiet, you are completely away from everything, the cafe is nice and the village shop very friendly and well sorted, we felt very comfortable. The contact with Miriam and Christian was very nice. Our top excursion tips: walk around the (whole) Staffelsee, castle cafe in Murnau, with the Bimmelbahn to Unterammergau and the Pürschling (hut, very exhausting, 2.5 hours ascent, but absolutely rewarding!), Café Krönner in Murnau, lake restaurant Alpenblick in Uffing with magnificent lake views.

A beautiful stay! Claudia is a super nice hostess, always available and very helpful. The place was very clean, well equipped and the location is perfect – there are many ways to explore the surroundings. I'd come back anytime and can only recommend it.
