Family-friendly vacation rentals in Trent River

The cottage - which is the basement of the house where the hosts live - was very cute and spacious. It is easy to find, and close enough to Toronto to be convenient, while remote enough to feel secluded. There is no kitchen, but it’s easy to get around that issue with the BBQ, especially for a short stay. The hosts were quite kind and the facilities very nice! My main issue was that the extra $40 per night per additional person felt a bit expensive (we added a guess at the last minute, going from 5 to 6 guests and were charged and extra $75+). I understand that the breakfast is included, however the price increase didn’t feel justified. The breakfast tasted good, but the portions were quite small (re: the price) (for example 2 pieces of French toasts each, a small bowl of fruit to share and coffee) and the “vegetarian option” was just to receive less food, instead of receiving a substitute. PS. In the winter the steps out of the hot tub are very very slippery, be careful.

My nephew was visiting with family from Atlanta. Wanted to have some fun family time. Had wonderful time there. The host was very friendly and was there to welcome. Gave very useful information about the place and things to do. Will have beautiful and cherished memories about the stay for years to come!

The cottage has a spectacular view of the lake. It is very spacious and up to date. The kitchen was well supplied with utensils, dinnerware, pots/pans, an air fryer and rice cooker. The dock area is in great condition, so it is a terrific place to relax in the sun, swim and fish. The stairs from the cottage to the dock has many steps, so my 84 year-old mother-in-law with bad osteoarthritis of the knees could not get down to the lake to go tubing. She was very happy to stay in the cottage and enjoy the view. The is only a short drive to Buckhorn with a Foodland and a Home Hardware to pick the items that you packed but left at home. Alex and Sophie were quick to answer any questions. Overall a really enjoyable couple of weeks.

We had a fantastic stay for a long weekend (birthday) getaway. Nice private location with a view. Enjoyed the hot-tub while watching the first snowfall of the season, wood stove and the well stocked kitchen. Host even left some treats for my pup, which she really enjoyed and was very responsive/helpful. Pros: private location, right on the water, kayak/canoe/hot tub for use, well stocked kitchen, responsive host! Cons: (only 1!) mice! My dog could not stop hunting the cabin throughout our stay lol (she is dedicated, like a cat!) , and we did find some droppings on the dishes in the cupboards, before use. Overall - we had a fantastic time. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay. We hope to be back soon!

We absolutely love this AirBnB! We come back again every year. Its a beautiful and quiet spot. The new hot tub is awesome too! Will be back again soon

We are so happy with our stay! The property was beautiful and the amenities were an added bonus. We mainly booked this location because we needed something that was wheelchair accessible and this home absolutely meet all our needs. Door were wide enough for the wheelchair, beds were high so we could get a lift under to make transferring to and from the wheelchair possible. It was also easy to get in and out of the home with a wheelchair. The home was clean and well stocked with everything we needed for our stay. There was also great communication before and after our stay. We felt right at home and the location was wonderful for a stay in PEC. We plan to go back again!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! The place was cozy, well-maintained, and exactly as described. The host was welcoming, and everything we needed was provided. It’s a great place with so much to explore, and I feel like it will be even more interesting in the summer. We’re definitely looking forward to visiting again!

We stayed at Tracey's beautiful cottage for 6 days recently and Tracey was an amazing host. We had to make a last minute booking and Tracey was extremely responsive and helpful throughout the process. Her cottage is beautiful and just outside the town of Madoc, which is very convenient. Being so close to the water was very peaceful. I also work from home and the internet connection was great as well. Overall we loved our stay and will be recommending this location to all our friends!! Thank you for everything Tracey😊

hosts were very welcoming and friendly. the cabin was amazing and very private. a perfect getaway with a backwoods feel. the bed is comfortable and was very warm despite the cold weather. would book here again!

Everything about our weekend at Heidi’s cottage was wonderful. Her detailed house manual was extremely helpful and the description of her space and where to find everything was down to a science. Beds were comfy and the kitchen was perfectly stocked. The lake was pristine and some of the best swimming we’ve had. Cozy at night and surprisingly cool inside during the September heatwave we experienced.

Our stay at Bill and Denise's place was perfect! The central location to downtown Picton was great, we could walk to the Millennium trail, great local restaurants and hotspots and it was a quick commute to the PEC wine trail and Sandbanks Provincial Park. The unit was clean and cozy and Bill and Debise were great hosts and made recommendations or local things to do. We will be back!

Sally and the Swan Cove Cottage were incredible! Sally was very responsive and accommodating. The cottage itself was ideal. Due to the loss of my dad in December, I booked on fairly short notice and headed north! The cottage was close to friends so that I could visit with them, or enjoy the peace of the cottage. It being the beginning of January, the porch may not have gotten the use it could’ve, but I loved the option. I arrived very early am, and the cottage was warm and ready. Thank you Sally for an incredible stay!

Our stay at Zev’s was perfect and peaceful. Being just 12 mins outside of Picton it’s the perfect distance to feel like you’re in the countryside while still having easy access Picton and Bloomfield. We will definitely consider staying again, if it’s available, the next time we are visiting the county.

Natalia and Evgeney were great hosts. They were both very responsive, friendly, and accommodating. Check-in was flexible and easy thanks to Evgeney, who did a great job at setting us up with our cabin. The cabin itself was exactly as advertised. We found it to be very clean. The view of Rice Lake from our cabin was great, and the area is really peaceful and quiet. Overall, we had a great time here! It was a perfect relaxing weekend.

Eric and Larissa’s house was perfect for the wedding we attended at the Bright house, the location is perfect for most of what the county has to offer. The home it’s self is perfect every thing you need is there and then some. Bbq to the fire pit and kids play land it’s perfect for! Larissa was very responsive and met every need! Margaret seemed very nice, she left croissants in the kitchen for us to have in the morning. Overall a very cozy spot to stay and we had no issues. One thing I noticed is that there's an adjoining door that connects from her side of the building to ours and I'm not sure if it locks, maybe it does but I didn't see a lock option on my side. Anyway it still felt private and we definitely got what we paid for.

Our family of five had a wonderful stay. Very clean and comfortable old stone farmhouse but with modern finishing and amenities. My kids particularly loved the hot tub and we had fun tootling around the local town. Only minutes away from Picton and Bloomfield among others so very convenient location.

We had an incredible stay at County Creek House in Prince Edward County! The spacious rooms and thoughtful design made us feel right at home. The house was stocked with everything we needed, from kitchen spices to pool floaties, board games, and fire starters. The organic garden was a highlight, providing us with fresh heirloom tomatoes daily. The location is perfect—close to beaches, wineries, and restaurants, yet tucked away just off the main road, offering privacy and tranquility. We loved exploring local wineries and restaurants, but relaxing by the pool with family was just as memorable. Heather and James were outstanding hosts, responding to every inquiry within minutes and making our stay completely stress-free. County Creek House is the ideal family-friendly retreat, combining convenience with a sense of escape. We can't wait to come back!

We had an amazing stay! The place was full of entertainment options, from board games to ping pong, billiards, ... The chalet was cozy, clean, and had everything. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing retreat!

Sky Haven is a true getaway! We stayed at the Guest Suite and were surrounded by wide open spaces, small, grassy hills and fall foliage. It felt like a scene from The Sound of Music! We enjoyed the huge heated pool - we came for this - which was meticulously maintained by Deborah. We stayed up late in the game room because there were lots of activities for the whole family. To top it all off, Deborah was such a warm, caring and responsive host. Upon our request, she brought us to meet some of the horses that lived there - such a unique part of our stay there. We learned a lot, and the kids had a great time interacting with the horses. Overall, our large family loved our stay at Sky Haven, Deborah is a wonderdul host, and we recommend this place especially for families.
