Earth house vacation rentals in Southern United States

Being able to walk out the back door for 5 minutes to the river was amazing. And the yard was fenced in so my dog could sniff around off-leash. Mary gave great recommendations for restaurants and hikes. It was a very peaceful stay.

We've stayed in Crestone multiple times, and this was by far our favorite place. We felt at home immediately and had a wonderful time here. Nothing cozier than the dome! We will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was spacious and the views were spectacular. the house was very cozy and close to everything.

Our family had a wonderful time at Forest Gully Farms. It was the perfect escape from the busyness of life! We enjoyed walking the trail, sitting by the fire, and checking on the chickens. The huts are in great shape and the sleeping accommodations were very comfortable. We loved the calm, relaxing atmosphere. The hosts were incredibly accommodating, even on short notice, making our stay even more enjoyable. We can’t wait to visit again!

We absolutely loved staying at Sandra’s place! We had a group of 8 people and there was more than enough space. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. While having neighbors in the area, the home was very private and perfect for relaxing. Sandra was very responsive and helpful, will definitely be staying again!

The place was incredible! Great view easy access beautiful cozy place to stay. Right off the plaza strip so only a 10 minute drive. Perfect place and location.

Well appointed casita in a tranquil area. Interesting artwork and a great place to look at the stars. Plenty of firewood and the water was fresh and clean, which is not always the case in this area outside of town. Great place! Would stay there again!

We had a great time at Linda’s place with our two kids. Her house is a lovely little museum where you feel cosy and at home. Very nice backyard where you can enjoy the sun and the peaceful neighborhood.

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at Virginia’s place. Amenities were all available, including a portable crib for our baby. Virginia’s instructions were clear and thorough, and she was very responsive by phone and via Airbnb. The house itself was as described. There was a good amount of space to accommodate all of us, beds were comfy, and we enjoyed using the backyard. The location was fabulous- very walkable to shops and restaurants. Don’t miss the food trucks a couple blocks away!

Very nice house, close to everything and the host was very communicative. They were even flexible with our check out time, which we appreciated.

Great place to stay while exploring Big Bend. It was a long drive into the park (1 1/2 jrs to Panther Junction) but good access to the central & eastern portion of the park. Marathon is a quaint little town with gas, food and groceries. some of the food spots were only open Thurs - Sun so we didn't have opportunity to visit them. the grocery is small but packed full of everything from fresh produce & local eggs to frozen foods and dairy products. Pricey but convenient. The house is charming with lots of history and the bed was the most comfortable we have had in an AirBnB - great pillows too! The back yard & patio looked inviting and wonderful but we didn't have opportunity to enjoy them as we spent the bulk of our days in the park. We prefer to cook our own meals when we travel and the house had everything we needed to make simple meals. Theresa was a great host, communicated well and was responsive.

Pat’s Tiny Home was amazing! It was the perfect location and had everything I needed and more for my two month stay. Pat always responded right away and had wonderful suggestions for activities to do while I stayed there. It’s so peaceful and quiet. I was able to work from home and record my podcast- that’s how quiet it was. It has beautiful views from the patio area and I found a great walking trail 5 min drive away- dos arroyos walking trail - if anyone wants to know. :) I mainly stayed in and cooked every night. I had a safe place to park my car, plenty of storage in the tiny home to put my things and I felt extremely safe being there. It was such a healing place too. I felt very comfortable and at peace. Pat even welcomed me into her home and showed me how to peel the green chilies for hatch season. It was such a fun experience! Stay at Pat’s place! You won’t regret it! Thank you, Pat for being such an amazing super host!

Amy's space was gorgeous! The space was clean, the bed was very comfortable, the house decor was beautiful, plus the area was quite and private. It was easy to walk to everything we needed in the nieghtborhood as well. The house was truly stunning and had everything we needed for our stay. There was an issue that was out of the host's control but she was responsive and ameliorated the matter gracefully and to our satisfaction! I would definately recommend this stay!

Great place to stay with dogs- definitely recommend! It was a really comfortable spot and the yard was perfect for the dogs. Would stay again!

This is a lovely, quiet place with plenty of room for 5 of us. It is beautifully appointed with lovely local decorations. All of the utensils and appliances were of really good quality. Paula was a very friendly and responsive host. Working with her was easy.

Super cute home! The location was great going to and from Santa Fe. The owners were super helpful and lovely to chat with. We ran into a small issue in the home which they were wonderful to correct it. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a nice cute and quiet place away from town.

The home is lovely and historic. The high fence makes it feel very private. We found a great brunch spot nearby, I would stay here again.

I’ve been to many places before, but up to this moment, I sincerely have never seen a place that would be one step ahead of me in every single detail. A lot of accommodations and facilities are available (board games, kitchen tools, much extra towels, pet facilities, extra mattresses, etc.). Also, what I really liked during my visit was the interior decoration, specially the photos, colors and frames, they literally fit so well and gave the place the identity it needs. Overall, I enjoyed my stay with zero problems and I recommend Casa de Cooper for every group that is looking forward to renting a cozy nice place away from crowded environments. Finally, the host was very helpful and responsive. Thanks a lot Jessica!

Lora’s Bali Earthship is truly amazing! The experience was incredible and one of a kind. We’ve stayed in off-the-grid homes before, but not like this… it’s a fully functional house with all the luxuries of a home that you’d expect to have. We were fortunate to arrive before a major snowfall, and it was beautiful to see the light snow falling for hours and hours, covering the grounds like a white blanket. And even though we live in a dark sky city, the night sky here was mind-blowing. The photos we took were unreal. We would definitely come back again!

The hobbit house was even more magical than the pictures convey. The fireplace made it extra cozy! We especially enjoyed the stock of waffle mix and other helpful food items. Marlan was great - he met us outside when we arrived and gave us a tour of the house. Would love to come again!

I had an amazing stay! The space was absolutely perfect—spotlessly clean, exactly as pictured, and in a great location. Everything was well thought out, making it super comfortable and welcoming. The check-in process was smooth, and the host was communicative and helpful. I’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay!

A wonderful getaway for a recharge. Cozy cabin has all you need. Views are terrific especially sitting in the great hot tub! Quickly can get into downtown Asheville or anywhere of interest in 20-30 minutes so you get the quiet remote aspect when you’re ready and when you need to go into town for some fun. Spent time at Sierra Nevada Brewery near by, local golf, and had some great food in downtown. Mae was responsive and accommodating. Highly recommend this spot.
