Vacation rentals with a fire pit in South Somerset District

Excellent accommodation set in beautiful surroundings with amazing amenities( swings, games room and numerous in-house games and children’s books) on site supplemented with outstanding walks - the hot tub was a particular whole family favourite. Dave was an excellent host, always easy to reach and so understanding of our needs or a family emergency when it arose - we are very grateful for his kindness and understanding . We booked for a whole family including grandchildren to celebrate my wonderful wife’s 60th birthday, and we had such an amazing time we are already collating dates for a return visit .

We had a wonderful stay in the lodges while visiting family in the area. Andrea was incredibly helpful from first communication and just the loveliest, most accomodating host. The lodges are idyllic and situated in lovely surroundings with nice walks. We will not hesitate to book again.

Exceptionally light, airy house with a truly lovely feel in an absolutely beautiful setting. The photos don't really do it justice as it felt quite magical. The beds are super comfy, the whole place is immaculately clean and it's a short walk to town and the Tor. Thanks Sophie for letting us stay.

Even lovelier than the pictures, spotlessly clean throughout, super comfy bed, well equipped kitchen, a lovely hot tub that we didn’t need to wait to heat up, beautiful views, adorable dogs and just so peaceful. Thank you to Mark & family, we look forward to staying again.

A lovely, relaxing couple of nights stay. The Coach House has all you need, is warm and cosy and very comfortable. The beds are super comfy and the duvets really warm and cosy. The garden is very private and a lovely feature, and for anyone staying in warmer weather has everything you need to spend plenty of time outdoors. If you're looking to keep your steps up, try a walk round the lakes, lots of bird life, very interesting. The lighting system took a bit of getting used to but is very ambiant and well thought out. The kitchen has plenty of space so you can cook and chat. It would have been good if the oven had worked but we were told about this beforehand and provided with an airfryer so could work around this quite easily. The host was always quick to respond, kept in touch and made our stay very easy. I would recommend The Coach House for a very relaxing and comfortable stay. All the quirky little touches make The Coach House quite unique and we would definately return.

What an amazing place! We loved our weekend at Grey Gables. It was the perfect place to catch up with old friends by the fire and put the world to rights. The village is idyllic with great walks and views across the Glasto fields. The local Crown pub had top scoff, delicious local beers and cosy atmosphere. All in all our stay was ‘gurt lush!’

Mark's place is the best place. I would 100% recommend. Mark was so responsive and very accommodating to our needs, a big thank you. fabulous clean property, warm, all the latest helpful equipment installed including USB charging at sockets, sensor bright lights which is really helpful for visual impairment. great modern kitchen and diner area, very suitable for a big family gathering. comfy bedrooms. really enjoyed the conservatory area with jukebox and record player and gorgeous surrounding views. the dogs loved the enclosed garden area and running around. lots of parking space for the cars, local small town is wonderful. would love to stay again.

I had an amazing stay at Anna's place! The local area was fantastic – so much to explore and enjoy. We travelled 20 minutes down the road to lulworth cove and visited Weymouth pier. The pictures of the property were spot on, and everything looked just as expected. Anna was also incredibly responsive and made sure I had everything I needed during my stay. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area! Really great price!

We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t have been made to feel more welcome by our lovely hosts.. The location is fantastic with good restaurants, an incredible harbour and miles of white sandy beach within walking distance. The novelty of staying on Sandbanks added a unique interest .. we loved it 😊.. Thank you Madeleine, Michelle and Nick for your warm hospitality 😊 x

We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely come again/recommend to others. The flat was full of quirky extras and everything was catered for. They went above and beyond with all the finishing touches which made you feel welcome and right at home. It’s a short walk to Weymouth beach. Considering how close to everything it’s really quiet. To top it all off the hosts were so lovely and friendly. I’d give them 6 stars if I could :)

Had a great stay while here and was a perfect location

This was a perfect spot for a beach holiday with extended family. The house is so close to the beach, brilliant for morning and evening walks with the dog, and not too far to walk to the lifeguarded area for swimming. Close to great fish and chips too! The house was exactly what we needed, with plenty of space for cooking, eating together and watching the Olympics on the sofa when the afternoon sun got too hot to be outdoors. The decking area (with excellent sunshades) and hot tub were a bonus. While in Exmouth we tried the barge yoga organised by Exewake - would highly recommend it.

Carole is a super superhost. 125 is so much larger than we expected, comfy beds, powerful shower, more than fully equipped kitchen, the garden is beautiful and all the extra thoughtfull touches, very much appreciated and made our stay even better than we expected. We had a wonderful stay here. The place was so clean and had everything we needed. The pool and hot tub was fantastic. The beds were so comfy (and I am super picky about this). The location was great, we had such a great stay, my daughter did not want to leave.

Absolutely blown away by the lodge , was so spacious and lovely luxury touches like the chocolates on the towels and complimentary shower jel and shampoo and the milk and biscuits etc . My elderly mum and auntie were overjoyed and loved every minute . Was nice to use the on site pool and want to come back again in the summer as the garden and bbq area and view breathtaking. A credit to Emily for all the personal touches and very well equipped . Can’t fault it !!!

We had a lovely stay at the Cabin, beautiful peaceful surroundings with lots of walks on your doorstep. The Cabin was really homely, excellent facilities (e.g. cooking) and lovely individual touches - we loved the soaps and flowers. We had a great stay at Higher Manor Lodge. The cottage offered the perfect blend of rustic appeal and modern comfort. The cabin itself was lovely, with every amenity you could need for a relaxing getaway. We especially loved the cozy interior that made it feel like a home away from home. After days spent exploring the beautiful coastal town of Lyme Regis, coming back to such a peaceful and comfortable retreat was an absolute delight. The location couldn’t be better - close to local attractions and picturesque walking routes, it was the perfect base for our adventures. Overall, our experience was outstanding, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Higher Manor Lodge to anyone looking for a charming, serene escape. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Wonderful stay. Sam was very responsive and accommodating. Cabin was warm and cosy with lots to do locally. We were a bit apprehensive about the outdoor shower in the final week of October, but it was a great experience! Thank you.

We had a lovely stay at the Hideout for a short Birthday celebration weekend away. Jason was very responsive and arrived to greet us to show us how things worked. Great recommendations for places to eat and visit. Would definitely stay at the Hideout again.

Lovely quiet and very comfortable break, will definitely stay again. Cozy for winter and would be great for summer with outdoor facilities for a fine evening
