We stayed at the Shearer's quarters for 3 nights as a family of 5 (toddler, 5yo, me & my husband & my father in law). We had a lovely warm welcome from the hosts & the place felt really cosy & ready for our stay. The kitchen is compact but really well stocked, there are 2 fridges & having some fresh eggs was a lovely touch. The outdoor area is excellent, with a really lovely seating area & a covered area with bbq, fire pit & outdoor toys. Our kids loved watching the farm dogs & chatting with the cows & sheep. Such a great place to unwind! We spent some time down at Motunau beach & on the weka railway but the highlight was being shown around the farm by Richard. Excellent all round

Our family enjoyed staying here so much that we have already booked to come back! Lovely space, beautifully decorated, a well equipped kitchen, with the bonus of a fantastic balcony. Perfect for our week in Hanmer. Highly recommend.
