Sagar Jerome and Lucky were the perfect hosts, ensuring everything was just right from the moment we arrived. The space was beautifully decorated, cozy, and inviting, making it feel like a home away from home. What stood out to me was how thoughtful they were, especially when it came to my pets. They went above and beyond, providing treats to keep them entertained, which made all of us feel truly welcome. The added touch of snacks and games for the humans was a lovely surprise too! It’s not easy finding a place that accommodates both pets and people so well, but The Darjeeling Retreat hit every mark. I can’t wait to return on future trips to Siliguri. Highly recommended for pet parents and travelers alike!

The property has two listings on airbnb in the same premises. 1. Triangular cottage with a small balcony on 1st floor(private stairs accessible from inside) and an extra double bed on top. It can accommodate 4 but suitable for a couple OR a family with kids (as the roof height of top floor is short). 2. A large room on 1st floor above the family's residence which is on ground floor. It can accommodate a group of 5 (1 double bed, 3 single beds). Long lobby type balcony just outside this room. Stairs are common but it is as good as private. Both these listings have their own private attached washroom. Wonderful host family : they sit together for dinner and serve hot tasty local style food. Brothers play guitar so no music needed. The family kitchen is accessible to all guests and has a very rustic cookware with traditional cooking methods. Thing to Note - balcony of both listings is east facing so you can see sunrise but not the Kanchenjunga mountains (which is north west facing)

The property is amazing although it can be a bit challenging for someone with physical challenges to reach there. Once in the property, the owner Tshering Sherpa takes care of everything. They grow most of their vegetables within the farm, so there is an assurance that you will get fresh and organic food. The rates are also nominal. Overall, the hosts are really great and homely. I will definitely be back again.
