The Snug Owl is a lovely home away from home. It is perfectly located near hikes, restaurants and other attractions. The furnishings are comfortable and cozy. Sonya communicates all the information you may need and has the home set up with all the basic amenities you might want during your stay. She even checks in to make sure you are comfortable and have all you need. Both the home and the host are stellar. Highly recommend the Snug Owl and look forward to our future visits.

We had an amazing stay! Lisa and Bob were fantastic hosts and very accommodating to our large group. They went above and beyond by helping us extend our stay when the weather shifted. The view of the lake was stunning, and the bar area was perfect for relaxing and socializing. We would book again and highly recommend this place to others!

What a lovely place! I'm an experienced Airbnb-er at this point, and this place really stood out for me. The space was well equipped, composed, and curated. Equipped because unlike many places I've stayed, the furnishings and day-to-day items didn't feel like they were leftover or items that had been displaced by an upgrade at a primary residence - all was in excellent order and were quality items. Composed because the decor and furnishing is suitable and complimentary to the space - comfortable and homey, but still with style. Curated because this is an older house, with an addition. I felt that the charm and character of the original building was complimented by how these hosts have approached this building - modernized but still a house with an original character and spirit. Well done!

We had a wonderful time here. Kim was very proactive and communicative. We appreciated her flexibility when we decided to extend our stay. The space is lovely. The directions and policies are clear, easy to understand, and all very reasonable with nothing feeling unfair or too demanding. Will definitely try to come back in the future.

Very clean and comfortable. Everything was as pictured. They made sure everything was ready for us before checking in. It was a nice view of the river and a good place to stay this Christmas!

We were working locally and needed lodging. This was a great location for the crew to relax after work.

My partner and I felt very welcomed when arriving. We absolutely loved the decor and amenities. We also enjoyed the board game selection, especially the mini cornhole and connect4. Thank you again for the snacks and coffee provided! We both agreed we’d love to stay again!

This spacious home has anything you need while you are traveling in the area and is suited for short or extended stays. Very clean and comfortable. If you plan to eat dinner in the area, go early or plan to cook.

Elaine's house was perfect for a place to stay while hiking at Starved Rock and Matthiessen State Parks. It was warm and cozy, had everything we needed, and was in a great location. She was a thoughtful and responsive host!

This was a last minute booking as I had to leave my home unexpectedly on a Saturday evening to avoid really bad weather that would have caused me to miss an important meeting I had Monday morning about 45 minutes from Sarah’s place. Everything was super easy and flawless when it came to booking the house and getting check in instructions. The house was peaceful, clean, had everything we needed and a bonus was the TV had Disney+ which my 13 year old loved! The couch and beds were very comfortable which is not always the case with Air B&B’s. My boys and I loved our time there and will definitely be renting again when we come through Illinois.

Wonderful, memorable stay. Superlatives just wont do. Was fantasic, i was impressed. The set up was perfect. I enjoyed the immaculate, fully furnished house, including playing darts in fun game room, and enjoyed listening to the large collection of retro records which really transported me down memory lane into the past. My puppy was totally welcomed with treats, a bowl, and a new squeeky toy. Heat worked great in the frigid weather, felt right at home snuggling up with my dog, dining on a great local pizza. I enjoyed the fact I was right next door to Catholic church, felt very safe. Only downside was that house is on a busy main street which had occasional loud car music. I would love to return.
