Vacation rentals with lake access in Plymouth

We had a wonderful stay at Bridesmere over New Year and it was just what we needed. Peaceful, beautiful area, lovely comfortable home from home. We appreciated the enclosed garden for our spaniel, the beautiful and spacious bedrooms and the living area which was large enough for all 7 of us, two families. WiFi was strong upstairs so no issue with all of us connected and the tv had all apps we needed to watch films with no buffering. There is a beautiful walk through the forest along the river just minutes from the house which leads to a very nice pub serving good food. As other reviews mention, the kids room smells a little musty/damp but this was not a huge issue and we opened the bathroom window after showering which helped. Kitchen well stocked but knives are a little blunt! Children loved the games barn and not having to bring bikes with us was really helpful and appreciated. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a nicer stay and we would definitely return. Thank you for having us.

Extremely comfortable house for a large group. Very well equipped kitchen. Loads of hot water Warm and cosy Comfortable beds The gardens and the log cabin and log brazier were outstanding and really made our stay Lovely Cornish welcome pack. A real treat! Wendy was a wonderful host. Could have been more helpful or more efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt she really wanted us to enjoy her Airbnb home as much as she does.

The house was beautiful, spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated. The Christmas decorations were a lovely touch, and made our visit even more special. The house felt homely and welcoming, the home made mince and cherry pies were delicious. We would love to stay here again on another visit. The view from the living room is wonderful … and, like the weather in the South West, different each day.

We had a fantastic few days for New Year here, two families with four children from 11-14 and two dogs. Having no TV was just fab - we played so many games every evening and had fun with the teenagers! The kitchen was very well equipped for all meal times, the bottle of bubbly was a treat and the kids loved the chocolate biscuits! The house was spotless top to bottom, beds were super comfy, and it was lovely and peaceful. The location is great too. We recommend Blackpool Sands nearby (there’s a sauna on the beach!), Salcombe is beautiful, Burgh Island was great. The Pilchard Inn on the island looked great but it was closed for Jan, so we headed to the Fisherman’s Rest in Aveton Gifford - don’t be put off by the exterior of the pub, inside we were welcomed by lovely staff and the food and beers were fantastic, and great value too. We will definitely return next time we visit this part of Devon, there is a lot more we’d like to see and do in the area.

Mike and Helens home was the perfect homely base for our family Christmas. The house was decorated and with two log burners was very cosy and festive. It had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook for the whole family every night. The location is perfect for visiting places on the North and south coast and there is plenty of parking in the drive for 5 cars. The house is in a very quiet area, which was lovely and the airfield nearby is good for dog walks.

An absolutely awesome place to stay at great value! As soon as the door was opened it could be seen that the place is well looked after to a high standard. Located in a very peaceful location, you can almost hear the silence - great if you want to get away from the city and have some time out from every day life. The juxtaposition of the house, the sea, the woods, brilliant walking routes, breathtaking views and more is something to behold. An easy drive into the bigger towns from the house and the dedicated parking space made life very easy! The corner shop is just a few doors down and was handy for those forgotten bits and pieces. Wil definitely be staying here again in the warmer months. Thank you Louise for hosting.

Just a long weekend stay but the apartment was great. Amazing views up and down the estuary and across to field of sheep opposite. It was very relaxing watching the boats go by and with plenty of space for 7 of us and a dog. Nice to have dedicated parking spaces too. I must bring my paddle board next time!

Incredible views in the most serene setting you could imagine. The location is also perfect, with a lovely pub opposite and Bantham beach just a short walk away. The property was spacious and well equipped. Highly recommended!

Lovely apartment real happy when we arrived. So huge. Location beautiful. Just the perfect holiday. Enough pubs around that served great food. Can’t fault apartment. Will definitely use again when in area. Thankyou.

Great place to stay and it’s not the first time we have stayed with Zeneta. The properties have always been clean and well presented with little extras to make it homely. Only thing I could mention are the parking permits. They are only for your stay at the property and not day passes as we thought when purchasing a day pass. Other than that it’s was a pleasure to stay again and can’t wait to use Zeneta again.

Joanna made me feel very welcome and was a warm and friendly host. I felt very at home and comfortable in The Tack Room and enjoyed my stay enormously. The gardens and grounds are beautiful and it was a privilege to be allowed to enjoy them with my dog.

We stayed in the apartment for three days and it was as described. Margaret responded quickly and was very friendly and helpful. The house is in a quiet residential area. The beaches are within easy walking distance. The only thing was that the separate washing or drying room smelled very musty.

Brilliant stay again at Jeff’s place, this is my third time and I will return again! Jeff is very responsive and helpful and the room has everything needed for the stay.

Great property, easy to find and perfect for a 1-2 guests. Jane was friendly and easy to contact. Parking right outside which was a huge plus for us. There was an extra internal door which we assume would link directly to Jane’s property or another airbnb which was locked - this wasn’t listed however, the property still felt secure. Just something for guests to be aware of. Thanks for a great stay - would recommend for anyone wanting to be in close proximity to Newton Abbot.

I booked this accommodation for my friends on NYE so I didn’t have a lot of interaction with Cherilyn but from what I heard, my friends could not have been happier. She was a delightful host, very welcoming and easy to communicate with and they had a lovely stay. Thank you Cherilyn x

Great spot the views are off the charts beautiful. Sadly I was working so didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I’d of liked….so I guess I will have to come back :) highly recommended and perfect for the dogs with walks nearby thank you :)

Jacqui's property was absolutely beautiful. The views, rivers, pond and woodland walks were stunning. My husband enjoyed the fishing, though the cormorant had more sucess! Our 2 grown up children and their partners loved the pool table and the dartboard in the barn. We strolled to the local pub along the bridle path which took less than 15 minutes - the food in the pub was hearty and home cooked. The cottage was great value for money. We wanted a last minute break but needed to be in the school holidays and we found the perfect location. Conversations have already taken place about returning... The welcome drink was also very much appreciated. Thank you Jacqui 😀

Fantastic little cottage for our family break away. I even asked for our stay to be extended on short notice (a week or 2 before we were due to arrive) and Eva & Richard were able to accommodate this. I'm glad I did as the cottage was so lovely, perfect location with the beach, the lake and lots of beautiful walks at the doorstep. The little fire stove was so nice when coming back from a cold, refreshing walk.

Karen’s and Steve’s place is in a beautiful location. Lots of beautiful scenery and animals walking around in the huge garden The animals are very friendly and extremely quiet. The property is a beautiful cottage with lovely views. Secure rear garden for our little dog to walk around talking to the chickens and ducks and geese etc. Steve and Karen were extremely helpful and made you feel very welcome. Made for a relaxing weekend stay which is exactly what we wanted.

What a great place. So cosy and homely feeling. Everything we needed to settle in straight away for our little break. Would definitely recommend 😍!

Lovely cottage and is exactly like the reviews . Sandra was responsive at all times and gave great local information about eating out. Water taxi across to Barbican meant we didn’t need to use the car. Only complaint was we didn’t stay long enough to enjoy another night in such a comfy bed or sit in front of the log burner . Lovely welcoming touches of wine and milk much appreciated. Would recommend the cottage . Thankyou Sandra for a lovely few days

Our stay at Orchard Cottage was magical. Lower Marsh Farm is a beautiful setting and really helped my partner and I to truly relax. The cottage was such a relaxing environment to come back to after exploring cornwall, and the hot tub really made it extra special. Olivia was a superb hostess, and greeted us and talked us through where we could find local amenities and checked if we had any requirements. We absolutely loved it here and will be returning :))

The house was beautiful, very peaceful location, a little off the beaten track but that is what we wanted. We love that part of Cornwall and where the house is located makes it’s very easy to visit our favourite places by car such as Padstow, Rock and Bude. We would defiantly recommend it and are looking to visit again in the spring.

Absolutely beautiful inside and out. First time taking our little ones away and was worried we'd forget something but Patrick and Tracy have thought of everything...a great selection of toys, travel cot with bedding and cot mobile, highchair, even a baby beaker and baby bowl and spoon. We felt very welcome there. Thank you both so much!
