Beachfront vacation rentals in Paihia

We had such a great time at Chloe and Ben's. It was clean and spacious, 1 min walk (if that) to the estuary and five minutes to the lovely surf beach so you could visit several times a day. It didn't need to be a big complicated affair as it was so easy to nip back to the house for food etc. The shower was awesome - very strong pressure. Everything was provided - linen, blankets, pillows, glasses, cutlery etc and all in great condition - and the kitchen was well equipped, including dishwasher and lots of good pans. Loved that we could eat outside on the deck, there was a fenced yard for the dog to run (he was in heaven), plus a trampoline, barbecue and fire pit. The view from the deck was stunning, and the overall vibe of the place was so friendly - from other holidaymakers with kids to the people working at the campsite. Would definitely book again.

We had a lovely 5 night stay here. A very cute kiwi Bach, with superb views. A short walk down easy stairs to the beach was an added bonus. The Bach is set back from the road so was very quiet and peaceful. 😊

I loved staying here so much. So beautiful, right on the beach, can't ask for better than that. The view from the deck and inside was so nice. You can hear the waves inside the unit. The cable bay store is very close. Such a lovely place in the far north. I would love to stay here again.

We had the most beautiful beach time. Lindsay and Maurice are very thoughtful hosts and their perfect bach is fully equipped. The loving extra touches of a welcome note, of flowers, fruit, chocolates and a personal welcome by Mauice on arrival made us feel even more welcme. We made full use of the kayaks and paddle board provided and their Breville coffee machine was the cherry on the cake. One of the maps in their info folder was our perfect guide. There are heaps of beaches and walks to choose from on the peninsula. .The covered outside area is absolutely perfect to eat, have a drink or just relax while taking in the beautiful scenery and beach atmosphere. When I went for a longer swim in front of the Bach at high tide, I even spied a school of fish right at our door step. In the mornings we walked ca 5 minutes to nearest ocean beach for a morning dip before breakfast. Absolutely the perfect beach holiday spot!

Incredible stay. The house has everything you could need and more. The outdoor deck is beautiful with a view everyday to match. The location is so lovely, quiet, remote with plenty to do. My whole family was very comfortable here the whole time, loved every second.

Awesome spot! can launch boat out front, plenty of space. peaceful with epic scenery. Ya can't beat waking up on the beach! owners super nice and easy to deal with.

Beautiful spot. Unfortunately the weekend we went was raining & huge swell but bach was sheltered and out of the wind. Sea looked amazing watching rain squalls coming in & rainbows. Will have to stay again & hopefully weather will be sunny next time.

For a winter break it really was perfect. Best spot ever. The best part....The people! Friendly, helpful. Kind. Every eatery was great. Op shop for fishing clothes too! Had great fishing with " Buckos" Dont miss it! Will return. Thankyou. BnM

It was a lovely relaxing spot to spend a week in a rural setting with sea views out to the Poor Knights islands. A large property, accessed off a private road so very secluded and peaceful. Handy location half way between Matapouri Bay and Tutukaka, although you do need a car to go anywhere. Kitchen was very well equipped including basic supplies. Access to an indoor swimming pool, ability to charge the EV, and use of the laundry was a bonus. The hosts were very welcoming on arrival and explained the facilities and beach access path. Special touches were a bottle of wine and locally made nut brittle on arrival, and acknowledgement of our wedding anniversary which was during our stay. Annette and Bianca were super helpful and responded promptly to any questions.

The cottage has a gorgeous view - such a treat to wake up to it every morning. Really spacious and ideal for a couple. Short drive away from some amazing beaches. Thank you, Kathy!

Perfectly located beachfront in centre of town. Everything to hand we needed and more. A great base for exploring Bay of Islands

Karen's place is absolutely amazing! Beautiful property, incredible location & view, very tasteful decor. It has everything you may need, with a very well stocked kitchen and a very sweet welcome package with a few yummy breakfast items and good coffee (top of the line coffee machine!). Karen was very friendly and responsive. We had a perfect week and the only sad thing about it was having to leave! Already dreaming about going back ;) Thank you for being such a great host, Karen!

The pictures don't do this beautiful home justice, it's even better in person. Equipped with everything you would expect and more and wowed by the exceptional views. My only issue was that we couldn't stay longer unfortunately but hope to visit again in the future. Thank you for wonderfully comfortable stay.

We loved our holiday here. It was so relaxing and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The pool was great and we enjoyed the kayaks. Special mention to Michael in reception - so friendly and welcoming and a mine of information on where to go & what to do. Motel is retro style, brings back memories! Excellent beds with quality linen. Nice touches including snacks and juice, as well as thoughtful placement of lamps and artwork creating a lovely ambiance that you don’t often see in motels. Thanks so much - it was a fantastic experience.

Great stay at this beachfront property! The location is unbeatable—just steps from the water, making it easy to enjoy the ocean. The home was clean, well-kept, and had mostly everything needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were especially great—super comfortable for a restful night’s sleep. Check-in was smooth, and the host was responsive and helpful with local recommendations. Overall, a great spot for a beachside getaway. Would definitely stay again!

Karl's property really is heaven on earth and a great place to recharge the batteries. We loved watching the everchanging landscape across the bay and had a great feeling of privacy. The property had every utensil to cook up some lovely meals although we would highly recommend the Fish and Chip shop and The Deck for super breakfasts which are less than 5 minutes away. Karl kindly left us some wine and beer which was much appreciated! Karl is also a super-responsive host. We really do hope to return at some point when next in the area and recommend highly enough. If you book this property you won't be disappointed.

Great spacious house and the location couldn’t be better, right across the road from the beach!

If I could put 10/5 stars, I would. Mark an amazing host and was super responsive. The place was immaculate when we arrived and it has so many awesome things to enjoy. The pizza oven, BBQ, record collection, kayaks and spa made our stay elite. Matapouri and a number of other beaches just around the corner and you are literally right on the water! You have access to 2 fridges which was helpful for storing food and drinks given that we were a large group. There’s plenty of parking, simple instructions on how to use everything and you’ll be very hard pressed to find a place with a better scenery. Outstanding standing, and we had the best weekend. The apartment was brilliant, the location one street up from the beach so good. the unit had everything, coffee machines, hot plate , huge microwave convection oven and all the usual suspects. loads of parking on the grass verge, and beautiful view. Linen was good, a million pillows and blankets and even beach towels. games etc Our only tiny gripes were it looked at little bigger in the photos, with beds etc suitable for six except it didn't have dining or lounge seating for 6. We borrowed a chair from family nearby and worked it out but it was quite small, and there was only three staying and the dogs. So just a note if you are six people, it is quite small space. Dog friendly but it would have been nice to have a small out door area fenced so we could have let the girls (doggos) out to pee on their own, but this wasn't a problem really except for the dog with the shy bladder... hahah so thank you so much Linda and Judy for a friendly and great getaway to the far north.

This was a fantastic place for my family to spend Christmas. We enjoyed the beautiful beach setting and the history of the house. The owners seem to have done a nice job of refurbishing the house keeping a historical feel without giving up a modern context.

This is a perfect bach in a really gorgeous location, it’s lovely being able to walk to smugglers bay and swim from the house at high tide. And the house is very comfortable and has everything you might need. Thank you!!

What a pleasant "mishap" that we ended up staying in Opua! We originally intended to stay on the Treaty Grounds, but due to Waitangi Day it was full. I stumbled onto this wonderful waterfront home, and am so glad I did! Opua is the cutest waterfront town - not much in terms of dining or shopping (none!), but we took the ferry to Russell directly from here, and did the lovely Opua/Pahia waterfront walk. Also, a 10 minute drive to Pahia for all kinds of grocery stores and restaurants. We made sure to just spend one evening eating a simple meal on the deck, overlooking the beautiful bay and passing boats. The place is well-stocked, clean, and cute, with a bonus washer/dryer. As others have stated, the driveway is tricky but not un-doable. And there are many steps up to the front door. Didn't take away from our wonderful stay here, ON the water!!! Loved it!
