Monthly Rentals in Ovil

A lovely stay at Eduarda’s new chalet. Great character house and she was also very accommodating. Great views and walks and can order home cooked meals. Hoping to return in not too long.

What a wonderful home! Perched on a hillside, with the Douro valley spread out below, the views are magnificent. The home has 3 comfortable bedrooms & a bathroom on the top level, w a twin bedroom & another bath on the lower level. The upstairs bedrooms each have an air conditioner/heating unit. The lower level has quite a few powerful & portable space heaters. The lower level also has a living/dining room, and a well equipped kitchen. The spacious patio is a great spot to enjoy the sun & the view. João was a terrific host, he went above and beyond answering questions and recommending local attractions. Would happily stay here again. (Pay close attention to the driving directions provided by João. Online maps might lead you astray!!)

Antonio was extremely responsive and generous with his time- picking me up at the station and dropping me off, and giving me a lift to the supermarket and to the river beach as I do not have a car and have reduced mobility. For others with mobility issues, I would say that it is quite steep there (which they warned me about) however I did find a couple of nice walks that were doable for me. The nature is exceptionally beautiful: mists rolling over the river, birds of prey gliding overhead, birdsong, the scent of orange blossom… I also enjoyed making a fire in the wood burner in the evening. This is a convenient place to come from Porto as it is just a few minutes’ drive from the train station which is on a scenic route 1.5 hours from the city. Thanks so much for having me!

Amazing stay in the Duoro Valley. We would definitely stay again! Our hosts were lovely and we enjoyed the wine tasting. We also enjoyed the apartment and cooking meals and eating breakfast and dinner outside in the private vineyard! Excellent value for money and a beautiful location.
