Monthly Rentals in Occidental Mindoro

We had a great stay, which we extended twice and were very sad to leave. The place and surrounding nature are very peaceful and inspiring, and the family was a great help throughout our entire stay. Big hug and thank you to Claudette and Kuya Abel! We loved waking up to all the different birdsongs, and learning about the mangroves along the river. The property had some creative quirks to it, we enjoyed admiring the design, natural materials, and the wonderful artwork created by the host. We wouldn't have changed a thing, and hope to return one day. PS we miss the cats and dogs! 🐕

Nanay Marilyn was kind to talk to. She's been responsive and accommodating. The place was so clean, and there were some supplies provided — toiletries, cooking oil & spices, drinking water. She also has a sari sari store next door if u need food. Though the location is not that convenient and there's no covered parking, this is already a great budget option.

Staying at Marty and Gerlyns Cabin was an awesome experience! We would highly recommend this unique Homestay. Communications with Marty from the start was helpful and accurate. He arranged boat transport then picked us up for the adventurous 4x4 trip to their homestay, so much fun! From arrival, one of the many highlights was Gerlyn's amazing home cooked meals that she provided us each day. A family BBQ and drinks at their own Bar was a special day also. The Cabin is in an amazing setting surrounded by nature, with beautiful ocean views. Such a comfortable and private place to relax. The convenience of the Cabin's kitchen was perfect. We cooked breakfasts and enjoyed it while watching the ocean. Special highlights were releasing baby sea turtles, spotting monkeys, gentle hiking through the rice fields and indigenous villages, snorkelling the nearby reef and night walks spotting bats with powerful flashlights. So much to do in this area, we only wish we could have stayed longer...

We really liked the place (stayed for 5 days). Its an adventure getting there, but all worth it at the end! A little cocoon of hapiness. Stuck in the ricefields between the ocean and the mountains, this little piece of architectural beauty is yet to be discovered. Mac (the caretaker) was great, helping for groceries ans organising activities (fishing, rivertrek). Simple, well taking care off and friendly people what do you want more?
