Luxury Historic Home | Near FQ

StephanieRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Our group had a great time staying here. The space had everything we needed and plenty of room for our larger group to spread out. The main floor is wide open and a great space for larger groups to spend time together. The location was ideal. A short drive to the French quarter and within walking distance to other restaurants and shops. Would recommend this to anyone needing a larger place to stay in NOLA.

Such a great place to stay. Ian even let us check in early! Which I was extremely thankful for. The house had all the amenities we needed, was clean, & had a nice homey feel with a lot of character. It was a short drive from the French Quarter, giving it a good location. Definitely a great stay for our first time in NOLA!

2 br ON streetcar line!-Uptown-near Oak St

MarondaRating, 5 stars6 days ago
I enjoyed staying at Blair's place as it was convenient and the streetcar was right in front. It was not far from the French quarter (12min drive). The house was clean, there was a binder with information about the surrounding area, and overall comfortable. If available, i will stay again.

Stay Like a Local Safe & Charming Oasis

CaraRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We absolutely loved our stay at Michelle’s place. This was our first time to New Orleans and she provided great recommendations as well as a blog you can find even more restaurants, tours, and places to visit. For our family of four there was plenty of space, everything was clean and super accessible. Her neighborhood is very walkable with great restaurants and shopping within a few blocks. We felt very comfortable there.

We stayed at Sarah’s place for three nights. The neighborhood is absolutely gorgeous, safe, and peaceful. The neighborhood has a lot of great restaurants- it’s a close walk to the art museum. The space was very clean & nicely decorated- everything that you need for a short term stay. We would definitely stay in this studio again! 10/10 recommended.

Courtyard Views at Maison Mouledous

MaryRating, 5 stars5 days ago
I have stayed at many airbnbs and this was one of my favorites. We stayed with our 3 kids under 5 and we felt right at home. Walking to the nearby coffee shops and the saint charles street car was super easy and very beautiful. The Azeleas were blooming and all the houses around are beautiful. We felt very safe and thought this was the best location from a time we came 2 years ago. We ate dinner at Superior seafood one night and it was delicious and a quick walk. One night Lori made me a delicious cocktail because she saw me with all 3 of the kids and could tell it had been a long day on the french quarter. She was so accommodating and sweet! Would love to stay here again next time and will tell my friends! Thanks again Lori! The kids love the stuff animals you passed along and kept saying how kind you were.

Home of original Po-Boy near Bourbon & Frenchmen C

ReneeRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Great stay for two couples. Location is awesome and walkable to all the fun things in Marigny and Bywater but still away enough to be quiet, and we were not bothered from noise from other units. We wish we knew that the nearest street car line was not running while we were there -- it was a big benefit to this location but we were able to walk and bus around fairly easily instead. We always felt safe walking as a small group as well!

Location and Luxury! 3 bedroom 2 bath condo!

CharlieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
This place is in a great location- walking distance to restaurants, bars, live music, and parade routes. You won't need a car if you'll be mostly in the garden district and French Quarter. Easy walking and plenty of Uber/ Lyfts/ taxis. The beds were comfortable. Two of the rooms did not have windows so they were especially quiet and dark (if that's what you want after being out too late).

Steps to Streetcars | Lower Garden District Condo

RachelRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We stayed at Gigi’s place for a Mardi Gras trip and couldn’t have asked for a better location. We were right in the heart of all the action with our own balcony to retreat to whenever we wanted! Plenty of restaurants and shops, and the streetcar picks up right outside. Gigi and David were very responsive and were even able to provide recommendations on where we could park our car for free during the parades. This is a stay that’s worth every penny!

Downtown Delight-Gorgeous Private Courtyard Condo

StephanieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
This was the best place to stay for Mardi Gras! You are right around the corner from the St. Charles parade route...yet it there was never any noise that kept us up when the parades were over. There is a private courtyard just for you (though we didn't get the chance to use it ) that is a unique feature and the apartment is centrally located to everything. Hosts were readily available for any questions and the space was clean and bright. Would highly recommend and definitely stay here again.

Your guide to New Orleans

Introduction

New Orleans offers a round-the-clock festive spirit 12 months a year. Live music, particularly jazz, rings through streets lined with buildings dating back to the early 1800s. That’s when the city’s trademark Creole architecture, a mix of influences from the French, Spanish, and Caribbean was developed, adding a distinctly New Orleans touch. While the lively French Quarter gets all the attention, also explore the Marigny and Bywater, which have a more artsy vibe, and Audubon — surrounding Audubon Park — which is known as the University District thanks to Tulane and Loyola Universities. If you’re looking to visit more of the New Orleans metro area, Metairie is just to the northwest, Chalmette about 10 miles east, and Slidell about 34 miles northeast.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in New Orleans

February through May is prime time to stay in one of NoLA’s vacation rentals, when highs are in the mid-60s to mid-80s Fahrenheit and lows hover between the 50s to 70s — it’s also perfectly timed to celebrations such as Mardi Gras and the French Quarter Festival. December and January are also pleasant months — with the bonus of fewer crowds — when highs are in the 60s and lows typically don't fall below the mid-40s. Summer and fall can be more challenging, as stifling heat, mixed with humidity, reaches the 90s. June usually has the highest precipitation, and hurricane season lasts from June through November.

Top things to do in New Orleans

French Quarter

The legendary Bourbon Street is the most popular street in this historic neighborhood, and indulgence is a way of life here. But the district is also known for its majestic Jackson Square (where local artisans often display their work in an open-air market), jazz clubs, steamboat cruises, and fresh beignets with chicory coffee.

Garden District

A streetcar ride away from the French Quarter is a visual juxtaposition to the French Quarter — a chill suburban neighborhood dominated by grand mansions. Also stop at Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, which houses the tombs of early settlers from Ireland and Germany, or opt for one of the city’s cemetery tours to learn more about the history of this great city.

Mardi Gras World

Experience New Orleans’ most famous festival any time of year at this facility, where 80 percent of the Mardi Gras floats are built.
