Canal Breeze Apartment - 30 mins. to New Orleans

AmandaRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Great deal, great location for parades, Phil’s marina Eden, isles and over very nice. We were expecting more of an apartment style. However, this is a four unit building with easy access to parking right out front and private balcony overlooking the water. We feel like it was better than we expected. Clean, easy to access and safe. Plenty of room much larger than we needed. Hosts were very responsive quick and even provided the parade details and routes! Very friendly. We will gladly stay again! Highly recommend, price is great too!

We stayed here for the Super Bowl. David was helpful and answered our questions in a timely manner. All expectations and details regarding our stay were well-explained, and we were offered assistance with finding anything else we may need. It was easy to get in and out of the house, and we enjoyed looking out and seeing the water. We had a wonderful stay, made even better by a responsive, kind, and informative host. Go Birds!

Waterfront Home in New Orleans

SarahRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We really enjoyed our stay! House had alot of supplies that alot of airbnb's don't supply. Would've been nice if the lift was accessible, but we figured it was due to insurance purposes as to why it was locked up. Overall a great place!

Pelican Pier Beach House on Lake Catherine

MichaelRating, 5 stars3 days ago
We loved our stay at Pelican Pier! Everything on the property was as beautiful as the pictures, all amenities were exactly as outlined, and there were many thoughtful touches offered by the host to encourage maximum enjoyment of the waterfront property. We have 4 boys (ages 8-14) and they loved the dock. We caught crabs, went fishing, and played on the small sand beach. It was too cold and windy to kayak but it was very tempting. The house has just enough common space and very nice bedroom arrangements for a family. Bringing an extra adult couple would have also worked. The house is not in a populated area - which we felt was part of the appeal! Slidell is close enough for quick trips. Downtown New Orleans is a 45 min drive but reasonable for day trips. We would definitely consider this property again if going to NOLA again.

Come to Jackson! Pet Friendly!

DesmondRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of spending the end of the year and New Year's in New Orleans. Monika was an outstanding host, consistently providing prompt responses and demonstrating a wealth of knowledge about the local area and culture. The accommodation was clean, well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, and offered ample space for both our puppies and their cages. We look forward to returning for another visit in the future.

Rachel’s place was amazing to stay at. Me and my family truly felt like we got the Louisiana experience staying here! The neighborhood was very safe and quiet. The beds were so comfy and there was a heater to keep us warm!! The place was also extremely clean! Rachel was very responsive and kind. We were even able to take some cute beads home thanks to her! If you are considering a trip to NOLA this is the place to stay. We will definitely be staying here if we are ever back in the area.

The Magic Cottage - let your worries disappear!

MichelleRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Julia’s Airbnb is an absolute gem! The space is not only adorable but also thoughtfully designed with everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Her home is so cozy, with a spacious living room, a comfortable bed, and plenty of seating options to unwind. Julia is incredibly sweet and friendly, always available for recommendations or to check in and ensure we had everything we needed. The Garden area location couldn’t be more perfect—just steps away from Whole Foods, a beautiful park, fantastic shops, restaurants, a charming bookstore, and even a great yoga studio. Despite the challenges of an epic snowstorm that left us in extreme circumstances, Julia went above and beyond as a host. She was incredibly flexible, understanding, and made us feel so welcome and cared for. Her kindness, attentiveness, and warm hospitality truly made this experience unforgettable. We can’t wait to return to this wonderful spot in New Orleans!

Montegut Manor | | Bywater | | Walk Everywhere

MarthaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
From an easy and secure check in, we felt right at home. Alleshia was always super responsive, almost responding immediately. The house is well stocked and pristine. There is a delicious restaurant right around the corner, which is super convenient when getting into town in the evening. The house is located within walking distance to some wonderful restaurants and activities. We’ve stayed in several AirBnBs that make it difficult to enter the house; however, all of us felt that Alleshia’s entry instructions and security measures were well thought out and appreciated. Would definitely stay here again and will be recommending this house to friends visiting New Orleans.

Marigny Hideout IV - One block from Frenchmen

JasonRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
The location is private and homey while right near Frenchmen street and an excellent bakery. It was cozy inside during the cold weathe, with very thoughtful touches like the radio playing the local jazz station when i walked in. The place also has lots of personality. I stayed during a crazy blizzard that froze the water in the pipes, and Anne was kind enough to let me use the other house temporarily to get access to running water. Anne also had great local recommendations of musicians to see performing.

Your guide to New Orleans

Introduction

New Orleans offers a round-the-clock festive spirit 12 months a year. Live music, particularly jazz, rings through streets lined with buildings dating back to the early 1800s. That’s when the city’s trademark Creole architecture, a mix of influences from the French, Spanish, and Caribbean was developed, adding a distinctly New Orleans touch. While the lively French Quarter gets all the attention, also explore the Marigny and Bywater, which have a more artsy vibe, and Audubon — surrounding Audubon Park — which is known as the University District thanks to Tulane and Loyola Universities. If you’re looking to visit more of the New Orleans metro area, Metairie is just to the northwest, Chalmette about 10 miles east, and Slidell about 34 miles northeast.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in New Orleans

February through May is prime time to stay in one of NoLA’s vacation rentals, when highs are in the mid-60s to mid-80s Fahrenheit and lows hover between the 50s to 70s — it’s also perfectly timed to celebrations such as Mardi Gras and the French Quarter Festival. December and January are also pleasant months — with the bonus of fewer crowds — when highs are in the 60s and lows typically don't fall below the mid-40s. Summer and fall can be more challenging, as stifling heat, mixed with humidity, reaches the 90s. June usually has the highest precipitation, and hurricane season lasts from June through November.

Top things to do in New Orleans

French Quarter

The legendary Bourbon Street is the most popular street in this historic neighborhood, and indulgence is a way of life here. But the district is also known for its majestic Jackson Square (where local artisans often display their work in an open-air market), jazz clubs, steamboat cruises, and fresh beignets with chicory coffee.

Garden District

A streetcar ride away from the French Quarter is a visual juxtaposition to the French Quarter — a chill suburban neighborhood dominated by grand mansions. Also stop at Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, which houses the tombs of early settlers from Ireland and Germany, or opt for one of the city’s cemetery tours to learn more about the history of this great city.

Mardi Gras World

Experience New Orleans’ most famous festival any time of year at this facility, where 80 percent of the Mardi Gras floats are built.
