Great spot and value for two people staying on the big island if 1. You’re flying to and from Hilo airport and 2. Have a car and don’t mind driving everyday. It’s off the beaten path but in a beautiful residential location away from traffic and the city centres. Nearest market (Malama) is 10 min away which was great to get prepared foods, snacks, and groceries. If you’re highly sensitive to noise while sleeping (i’m not, but there was lots of animal sounds and rain throughout the night) I’d reconsider this place although Jacob offers solutions (earplugs, noise canceling headphones, or bring your own) to help with that. Jacob was a great host - in person greeting upon arrival and responsive.

Eliot is an awesome person who is very easy to talk to and a great reference for travelers visiting hawaii. The house was so beautiful and clean. The property location is amazing and the house has everything you need including an awesome shower room. Looking forward to staying there again!

Our family—my wife, our 4-year-old daughter, and I—spent six amazing days on the east side of Big Island. The vacation rental was ideal, offering a clean, spacious, and well-equipped home in a peaceful, lush setting. We loved the proximity to Volcanoes National Park and black sand beaches, where our daughter enjoyed playing and spotting sea turtles. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and provided great local tips. This stay was everything we hoped for, combining comfort, stunning surroundings, and warm hospitality. We can't wait to return!

Lovely home that felt like a secluded forest retreat about 40 min outside Hilo. This property is two units with separate doors, a studio and 1 bedroom, linked by a covered porch and washer / dryer closet. Sound travels between them but it is good space for a close knit group or family. The kitchen is well stocked; expect to compost and the house is on a water catchment system. We traveled with young kids so it was great to let them run around; however the counter height dining table is probably more optimal for older kids and adults. Our stay was very peaceful, highly recommend if you are looking for something off the beaten path!
