Ski-in/Ski-out vacation rentals in Lake Superior

This was a great getaway spot. Loved the big windows for beholding the lake and sunsets. Very clean and cozy with a well-supplied the kitchen and big wood supply for maximal enjoyment of the sauna and fireplace. The only added comforts would have come from some updated beds and pillows and a heads up about other guests in the space. Would definitely go back!

My partner and I stayed at Monika’s quaint little cabin for a getaway to go cross country and downhill skiing last minute. The cabin was super cute and we loved the community cleaning aspect of it! The view of the river is spectacular from every window and we saw Red Polls and nuthatches even in the cold! The location is very private and tucked back. We loved the sauna and it heated up fairly quickly. The bed was super comfortable and had a great view from the A-frame window. Overall, a perfect spot to cozy up after long days skiing. We would love to return in the summer to see river when it’s melted and the trees are green.

We loved our stay in Lutsen! 6 of us came up to ski in February and the house was less than 10 mins to the resort. The house was very nice and clean- we loved the fireplace, record player, and looking out over Lake Superior. Would definitely stay here again!

Simple cabin right near the Brule River. It was comfortable and had a nice kitchen. With the snow, it definitely beat camping. Its proximity to fishing locations is why I chose it. Definitely made it easy to get on the river early.

Great host and location for a quick family stay. We really enjoyed the sheep and our interactions with bandit. House was great for us.

My group has been cross-country skiing at ABR for more than 20 years. We like to rent a house on the trails. This was our first time at Saari House. The second week in March was late in the season for skiing, but we skied in the mornings and snowshoed in the afternoons. Being right off the Blueberry Bluffs trails was nice. The house is charming, with lots of natural light. There is a well-equipped kitchen and a dining room table that seats 6. There is just one bathroom but that was fine for our group of four women. One bedroom is on the main floor, off the cozy living room. The second floor has the second bedroom, plus an extra room with a pull-out couch. It was nice to have plenty of large towels, and a washer/dryer in the bathroom. There is a small wooden deck around the front of the house. You enter through a mud room with plenty of room to store your boots and hang clothes. We look forward to a visit here next winter!

Great place to stay for snowmobiling..

I have so many positive things to say about this home. Barbara is a fantastic host, her son is helpful and friendly. The home, pond, gazebo and acreage are amazing. Lots of trails just behind the cabin, connecting to state forest trails. This is our second time staying at Barbs place and will totally return in the future.

We love it here! Jason's place is perfect for a large group, and has everything you need. Appreciate the 4 bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, plenty of parking space, comfy beds, and lots of space to spread out. Great location for access to the Birkie course. We look forward to coming every year!

I stayed this past weekend for a funeral. And I’d come back! Granted, I’m from Kingsford so I know the area. But this place is a little jewel. They even had a fire pit, with pre cut wood. What a thoughtful amenity! The host was responsive/ property clean. Everything an Airbnb should be. Kudos! 🙌🏻👍🏻 All said, a couple of minor small observations. -Dust the dining room chairs, especially the rails. (I inspected hotel rooms for 20+ yrs.). ☺️🤷‍♂️ -That sliding door didn’t instill confidence. -An electronic lock with a code would be awesome. -T-mobile internet. ($55 per mth). We love this little place. Just like our cabin in the woods. Close enough but not downtown. Clean but just comfortably rustic. Enjoyed our stay for the 4th year in a row. It bring us back to a more simple time!

We had a lovely stay in a warm October weekend! The house is super clean and stays cozy even when it was chilly at night. The property is beautiful and it’s located a short drive from a great beach!

The Bunkhouse exceeded our expectations. It was cozy, relaxing, and clean. We enjoyed being right on the lake, walking in the woods, a warm campfire, and the sauna! The internet allowed us to stream a Lynx basketball game, the porch offered quiet reading space, and the pullout sofa afforded restful sleep. Our old dog loved the calm outdoors and “Back 40”. We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I had planned to check in and then go exploring the area. Ha! We never left Ann and Kari’s for the next 48 hours! The views of Lake Superior, the sound of crashing waves and walking the property and beach, the peaceful vibe of their home…no reason to go anywhere. When we had to leave for dinner, we went to The Angry Trout ( Ann and Kari’s reco) in Grand Marais. Excellent food with local art. Unique layout, quality furniture and decor make this home a special place. Thank you, Ann and Kari for opening your home to us!

Amazing cabin and a perfect location. Close to attractions yet very private and peaceful. Cabin had everything I needed for a comfortable and worry-free stay.

Located on the Wolverine ski trails was awesome. Winter wonderland in a fantastic setting and was truly magical during snow storms. Our two dogs were equally impressed

Second time staying here and will continue to recommend it to friends and family.

The cabin was cozy and cute. We enjoyed skiing at Ski Brule. The cabin is unique as it has three decks to enjoy the beautiful view of the ski hills and the night sky.

It was a very nice weekend, the area is awesome and always worth a visit!

White Tail Lodge exceeded our expectations! The house is huge, although the main floor living and kitchen area was where the 10 of us spent most of our time, there were plenty of places to take a little break from the group. The house and property has so many amenities, they're all in the listing but when you're there, it's like, wow! Super clean, and beautiful but not so fancy that you feel afraid to live in it - it feels homey, not ostentatious. Bedrooms are roomy and beds comfortable, and the closets are massive! The kitchen is well-appointed for cooking, and there are a good variety of spices but unlike some places there aren't other staple items like cooking oil so don't forget that! Stacy does a great job as a host, her communication is prompt and clear, there are clear written instructions in a binder at the property. She even left mixed nuts and truffles as weelcome gifts! All 10 of us loved White Tail Lodge, we're already booking for next year! :-)

Our large three-generation family group had plenty of room to comfortably spread out between the somwhat dated but clean, homey cabins. What worked out great for us was that the three families with children ages 1-12 and earlier wake up times were able to use the larger space while the smaller cabin accomodated the couples without children and allowed a bit of liesurely vacation sleep-in time. We prepared and ate our communal meals in the larger kitchen and spread beyond the big table to plentiful seating on the large deck. The view from the deck was lovely and the walk to the lake and dock easy going for all ages. We swam every day either from the sandy, pebbly entry to the water or from jumping off the dock and swimming out to the swim pad. The water was clean and relatively free of weeds close in to the dock area. The lake was peaceful and we made plenty of use of the pontoon, canoe and sit-on kayak, caught fish, and never felt crowded. Katelyn was super to work with.

Perfect for a winter getaway! Snowy trails on site made for great cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Fireplace perfect for relaxing after long day on the trails.
