Vacation rentals with a kayak in Lake Lure

Jake was very accommodating. With the Hurricane destruction that had occurred, Jake still went out of his way to make sure myself and the guests were heard and seen and made to feel safe.

Did I walk into an issue of Architectural Digest? Is this house as amazing as the photos? Absolutely! I was stunned by the craftsmanship and cabinetry and floored by, well, the flooring. Natural light floods the home during the day and the interior reflections of light and structural beams in the windows at night gives a nearly spiritual experience. The built-in cabinetry in the bedrooms is impressive. But open the upper cabinet door near the left kitchen pendant light if you want to be even more impressed. Steven’s house has a fully-stocked game room for families and guests. The bedrooms are comfortable, but note the “ceilings” are open. A clever design that compliments the overall space. Thank you for sharing the space with me, Steven.

The house was awesome couldn’t have asked for a better place. We will stay there again next year. If you want to stay at a great place by a beautiful lake and beautiful creek this is the place.

We booked with Ian last second due to our previous airbnb not being ready and the hot tub was broken… Ian was quick in action to have cleaners get to the house before we finished biltmore, the house was beautiful and very clean, we enjoyed the privacy his house had to offer! This property we stayed at was by far the best house and the cleanest of all properties I have ever stayed at! The property is VERY close to downtown Asheville!! 10/10 recommend booking with this host!!

Wow, I am absolutely blown away! This was such an incredible stay! 🌿🏡 Kevin & Linda are the kindest, most caring, and genuinely loving hosts—you can tell their heart is in everything they do. 💛 The pups were precious, and their sweet old girl, Ruth Ann, even joined us on most of our hikes, which made the experience even more special. 🐾 The home was gorgeous, the bed was super comfy, and the WiFi was fast—but honestly, we LOVED having no service outside the house. It made the trip feel like a true reset from the outside world. And can we talk about that bath?! 😍 Omg, yes please. The hiking trails were incredible, the provided map was crystal clear (with extras just in case), and town was just 35 minutes away—super easy to find based on their directions. To top it all off, they even let us try some fresh farm eggs from their chickens, which was such a thoughtful touch. We’re heading home feeling refreshed, recharged, and overflowing with gratitude. 🥰 Already planning our next

This was our third stay at Lake James and this house had the best view by a wide margin. We had a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The place was a great fit for our family. Bruce always responded in a timely fashion. If this house is available for our next trip to NC, we would definitely book this house again.

Stayed for 2 nights and had a great time! Easy to access, close for Ubers to Downtown, clean, cozy, perfect for a weekend away! We can't wait to visit again.

The cabin is beautiful and peaceful which is what our family was looking for. We enjoyed all of the amenities, and the kindness Michelle showed our family. It was clean and offered everything you needed to cook and enjoy your surroundings, even a BBQ and smoker. The beds were comfortable, and linens were good quality. Lots of extra towels if necessary. Thank you, Michelle. We enjoyed your lovely cabin in the woods.

This was a fantastic place to stay if you’re looking for something cozy, quiet, and just outside of Asheville. The cottage is so charming and the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Mike and Cate were so responsive, helpful, and accommodating. I have no complaints and would definitely recommend this unit to anyone wanting to enjoy Western NC!

We had a wedding in the mountains and at last minute found a cottage. It was very peaceful and nice, when we had any issues or questions the host was very prompt to answer. Overall it was a great experience for my Family, The kids enjoy playing around in the open field. The creek was beautiful, The heater worked so the cottage was always nice and warm. There was always something for family to do. Overall great price and pleasant stay. We would definitely book with the Host again.

The place is just as pictured. Very charming 3 bedroom and 2 bath with a lovely view of the lake. We had fun fishing from the dock and swinging in the hammock. The neighbors are friendly and the house has all you need. We really enjoyed our Christmas vacation and would recommend it to everyone.

We do a family trip every year and try to keep in mind things to do as well as accommodations to suit the range of ages. This home checked all the boxes, it was accessible for the grandparents and the layout provided a peaceful place for them to relax while the active members of our family played with all the amenities and games provided. Although the weather during our stay prohibited us from venturing out to hike as much as we liked there were options for entertainment at the house. All the little touches made it extremely convenient and a very pleasant stay. If you needed something they already thought of it. The welcome bag and packet of information was like a cherry on top. They even thought to leave an Ingles card! Sometimes it's the little things. Very responsive to any questions and provided clear instructions for your stay. Highly recommend, enjoy your stay in this wonderful neighborhood. Definitely check out the neighborhood trails, 100% recommend it.

The Lake Summit Nest, Dock and Boathouse exceeded our expectations! It was truly a place where we were able to retreat and rest amid beautiful, tranquil surroundings. The accommodations were immaculate and the kitchen replete with every tool we needed to prepare the meals we ate there. Wonderful coffee, a fridge and cabinets stocked with thoughtful purchases enhanced our experience and enjoyment. There were dozens of special touches that only an empathetic host would think to provide that made our stay more convenient and pleasant. To list them all would be impossible. Melinda is a superb host! There’s so much to do in the area, as well as being a true haven of quiet rest. The boat dock, with its kayaks, SUP boards and opportunities for water play were great. My husband had fun catching fish from the dock and the kayak. We have stayed in many Airbnbs in the U.S. and other countries and The Nest will stand out in our memories as the best!

Wonderful getaway for the family! The kids had the adventure we wanted away from the city. We had zero allergy issues, a few of us have allergy and asthma challenges and this home was clean and allergen free for us! We spent most mornings with coffee and either board games or exploring, the days on the lake with the kayaks and canoes, then nights around the fire with burgers and s’mores. Wonderful place for our family of 5. Thank you!

Everything was up to expectations. Beautiful location with beautiful trees and water nearby. Hot tub worked perfect perfectly didn’t have an issue with anything and the hosts were very responsive. Exactly what I’m looking for at an Airbnb.

Lovely spot for a quiet get-away. Close to everything we needed. Enjoyed lake swimming, hot tub relaxing, and fire pit ambiance. Great view. We also enjoyed antiquing and thrift shopping in the area.

Donna has a wonderful place tucked away with a beautiful woodland view. All amenities were available and useful. Donna was very responsive with anything we needed at the time of our stay. We will be back for sure!

We had an amazing stay! The private beach is so nice and the kids enjoyed it so much. The house had a well stocked kitchen and everything was in order. The host is extremely responsive and was quick to help.

Meagan is a fantastic host, and her house is beautiful. We enjoyed all the provided outdoor toys on the river; which pictures do not capture its beauty! Beyond being extremely clean, the house has everything you need to make meals, enjoy the hot tub, and make smores around the fire. Unloading and packing up is a breeze using the lift. The location is private, but the town is within a 20-minute drive. I highly recommend checking out this place!!!

Beautiful piece of heaven. Even though it rained the majority of our visit we were still able to enjoy the serenity of the area thanks to the covered porches. This home is so peaceful and quaint. Exactly what I wished for, and we look forward to staying here again. Highly recommend folks stay at this beautiful cabin with the lovely view.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Joshua's beautiful cabin! There was plenty of space for our 2 families and 2 pups. We had the best time during the rainy weather relaxing in the huge living room, playing board games, and watching movies. Once the weather improved, we took advantage of the amenities and played mini golf, pickle ball, and swam at the pool. We also had some of the BEST pizza from the Legends restaurant! Highly recommend this cabin for a weekend full of fun and relaxation!

The house itself was beautiful and spacious. Plenty of room for our extended family. We went to Chimney Rock and Biltmore before the unwanted visitor. We unfortunately were there during Hurricane Helene, so we were without power and had difficulty getting out due to trees in the road and had to cut our trip short. Of course none of this could have been prevented or expected. We were thankful to have the grill outside once the electricity went out. Neighbors and vacationers alike helped to clear the road of the trees. To say this vacation is memorable would be an understatement. We will keep the entire area in our thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery.
