Vacation rentals with a kayak in La Plata County

i booked an 8 day stay at kristine’s home with the intention of treating myself to a much-needed personal retreat! kristine is a most gracious hostess…her home is very beautiful and she made me feel welcomed and comfortable at all times. with an extra bonus of enjoying the majestic 360 degree setting , i felt super inspired after experiencing the first BIG snowstorm of the year. every sunrise, sunset, even the full moon, provided a perfect backdrop for this week full of gratitude! least i forget, sweet 9 year old chihuahua, “mazey”, is the “cherry on top of the cake”. THANK YOU, kristine and may-may! you’re the best!

Great, private place with enough space for our whole family. Well-stocked, clean and perfectly located between Durango and Purgatory. Will definitely be back!

Great location, great place, great value! The most important thing about airbnb's to me is the details, and more importantly having a host that actually cares. Jake does both of these things fantastically! He has all sorts of tiny details to enhance your stay like strange sodas and a big hot sauce collection for your enjoyment, And also things like q-tips and makeup remover even. And also other things that everybody may not appreciate as much as I, like a chemex coffee pot in addition to a French press, complete with a pour over style water boiler! And even a regular coffee pot for those of you that don't know how to use the first two 😉 The place is not huge but it is not small either. It was perfect for my girlfriend and I, and there is even a separate bedroom that could fit three children comfortably. All in all I had a great stay!

What a beautiful, peaceful home! Favorite was waking up to 10+ deer in the yard! Gorgeous view! Would definitely stay here again!!!

Our trip to John’s house was fabulous. The house far exceeded our expectations. Everything I find a house for us to stay in. This would be for our family and I received great praise from all my family for having picked John’s house.

We are very appreciative of our host kindness. Mike helped find us some ingredients on Christmas Day. The cabin was perfect and cozy for our holiday. Our kids said it was five stars! We are definitely happy with our choice in the cabin and would recommend it. Pets are allowed which was great for us and our fur kid.

The porch the view, and the lake were perfect & peaceful. The inside was really comfortable for 2 couples, with cozy couches and cute decor. The vintage Smokey the Bear S&P shakers made me smile as soon as I walked inside. Everything was nice & clean. The surrounding landscape is beautiful, and I loved everything about my stay. The host & hostess were so friendly too. I hope to come back again bc this was one of ky favorite vacations.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed Hummingbird at Elk Point Lodge. Nolan and Olive were easy to work with and communicated everything clearly. They were responsive to all needs. The cabin was very clean, as well as the hot tub. It’s a really beautiful and peaceful location with great amenities. Will do again soon!

We stayed here for Christmas. Well maintained clean cabin right by the lake with amazing views and plenty of places to walk and enjoy the scenery. Management was great. Making sure drive way and drive to the cabin was cleared and safe with all the snow and ice. Would recommend 4x4 though if you come in the winter time. They were great about getting us fire wood for the wood stove and even checked on our dogs for us while we were in Durango. I’ll be back next year to do some fishing and do it all over again!

This space was everything posted about and SO much more! This home was the perfect sanctuary for our family. The host was always so helpful, responsive, wonderful to work with from start to finish. The listing totally undersells the amazingness of this property. The home was spotless. The house was minimalistic in all the best ways as an AirBnb. We felt right at home! The kitchens was perfectly stocked with all the pans, dishes, etc that was needed. Get ready to see some amazing wildlife while enjoying morning coffee on the beautiful wrap around deck. We were left with plenty of firewood to make nights as a family in the living room amazing! Fishing with the kiddos was core memory making! The water is clear enough that when the sun hits just right you can see all the HUGE rainbow trout! Thank you to the host for letting us catch them and make an amazing fish meal! This was the absolute perfect fall trip for our family! Thank you!

Had such a wonderful long weekend at Elk Point. The cabins are right next to the stunning lake. We used the complementary paddle boards several times. If we are ever in this part of the country again, we will absolutely stay here again.
