What a wonderful experience!! We were looking for a stay in Cambodia that allowed us to learn about the culture, especially rural. Staying in a hotel in Siem Reap would never have allowed us to see this perspective. Yes, we went to Angor Wat and other temple sites along with the National Park like most tourists do but the highlights were doing the simple, everyday things with Monyharch; meeting his lovely family and interacting with his boys, riding down the road weaving in and out of motorbikes and various assorted vehicles, shopping at the local market, cooking class, strolling through the rice fields past the water buffalo and then on into the village after dark to say hello to neighbors and friends as we went. “I can’t believe we’re doing this”!!! was often a thought I had.
