Udaya was great. His home is spacious but can be warm at times since the air con is in the bedroom. The bed is really comfortable and great for a good nights sleep. The kitchen is well stocked and it was easy to make a few quick meals. He’s an excellent communicator. There were a few issues that came up and he addressed them right away. Thanks for having us.

Our family had a wonderful stay at this villa! The view was absolutely breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The staff were amazing—always attentive, friendly, and responsive to all our requests, including accommodating the needs of our toddler, which we greatly appreciated. A standout feature of our stay was the amazing cocktails! They were expertly crafted and added a special touch to our evenings as we enjoyed the stunning scenery. Additionally, the staff guided us to a beautiful local waterfall, where we had a fantastic time exploring and enjoying nature. It was a memorable highlight of our trip. The only area for improvement is the food. While it was decent, we’d love to see more fresh vegetables included in the menu to enhance the dining experience. Overall, it was a delightful stay, and we’d definitely recommend this villa for anyone looking for a peaceful and scenic retreat with top-notch hospitality, and opportunities to explore local beauty

Wonderful Stay in a Peaceful Villa We had a fantastic stay at this villa, located in a quiet town outside Colombo. Our host, Sam, was welcoming and easy to reach. The house manager, Dinesh, and his wife live on-site, and they truly made our stay special. Dinesh provided great tips, drove us around, and was incredibly kind and humble. His wife spoiled our kids with delicious traditional Sri Lankan lunch, which they absolutely loved. The villa is divided into multiple rentals, so the pool and outdoor areas are shared. The nearest town, Mattegoda, has supermarkets and local restaurants. The area sees few tourists, but the locals are warm and welcoming—we really enjoyed getting away from the crowds. Food is very affordable, and curry, rice, and noodle dishes are great choices. English is not widely spoken, but we managed. Colombo is about an hour away by tuk-tuk, with an easy bus option too. A wonderful stay—perfect for those wanting authentic Sri Lanka in a peaceful setting!

Our stay at Villa 171 in Aluthgama was nothing short of amazing. The property is a lovely retreat with all the amenities you could wish for and impeccably maintained. What truly made our visit unforgettable, however, was the warmth and generosity of our hosts. Shashika was not only incredibly helpful but also inspired us with his fascinating travel stories. Even more special was his brother, Babi—a genuine gem. From lending us a scooty and guiding us through mangrove trips and snorkeling adventures to assisting us in picking out thoughtful gifts for our families, Babi went above and beyond, making us feel like part of the family. We left Sri Lanka with hearts full of gratitude and fond memories, and we’re already planning our next visit just to reconnect with these wonderful hosts and experience the magic of Villa 171 again. The Villa was absolutely perfect for a quiet getaway — Mohamed and Tuan were the perfect hosts: super responsive and polite, always helpful and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The space is spotless, the rooms were large and kept perfectly, and the view was unmatched. As long as you have transport to get you into Kandy, it’s also located conveniently so you can reach the city easily but still get the peace and quiet of the hills. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay with more attentive hosts!
