Family-friendly vacation rentals in Johns Island

This is now our second year staying here on our Spring Break. It is less like an Airbnb and more like staying at a trusted family member's home. We travel with 3 small kids and this house is perfect. This home is walking distance to great parks, playgrounds, and restaurants. The Park Circle playground is epic, to say the least. Holy City Brewing and The Codfather are both favorite eateries of ours, both an easy walk. This house has a great, fully fenced backyard our kids used for hours. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds are comfortable, etc. I couldn't say enough about how much we enjoyed our time again this year. Already looking forward to booking again for next year! :) Thank you Tamra and Lisa! We appreciate you!

Christine could not have been easier to work with and communicate with. She was fast to respond to any and all questions that came up during our stay. The house was perfect for our family of 5 that included my two sons who were 3 and 7 years old. The indoor hot tub was fantastic! The outdoor fire pit and large deck was great! The Golf Cart was essential to loading up the kiddos and gear for the beach that was just a short ride away! I highly recommend this location for anyone! And thank you to Christine for being a gracious hostess!

Our family Airbnb's frequently each year. We love Isle of Palms and always try to find an Airbnb that's unique and feels like home. This one is absolutely wonderful! It matches the description perfectly and has plenty of amenities and supplies. Location is great...so close to beach and restaurants. Sitting on a small hill, it provides a great view and separation from the neighbors. Crows nest is fantastic as is the hot tub. The pool is beautiful but was too cold outside for us to use (we opted to not heat it as outside temp was around 50 degrees). Summertime temps would make that pool so enjoyable. Inside of house is unique, like a cottage and has several sleeping areas and is very cozy and comfortable. Kitchen has a nice ice maker plus all the small appliances and cookware/dishes that you need. Beds are probably the most comfortable that we have ever slept on in a rental home. We really liked the enclosed front porch as well. This home is a perfect stay and we enjoyed it immensely.

Travis’s place was awesome and had so many amazing amenities. And the location was perfect!

Doreen was a data host! The place was clean and felt homey! Perfect location and walking distance to the beach.

We had an amazing stay at the Sea Urchin! The property was exactly as described and perfect for a small family and two small dogs! The backyard space is fully fenced and great for family fun. 2 minute walk to the beach, great public beach access. Thanks for a wonderful fall Folly trip!

What can I say, beautiful beach house 1 block from the beach. Pool and hot tub worked great. Only a few easy walking blocks from great food and shops. My family had an awesome time and great memories were made. I would definitely recommend this place.

We loved staying at this house and will try to book again in the future! Some of the appliances are older, but the kitchen is fully stocked so this made it feel homey. We did have to open windows until the AC kicked on and run the washer twice. We loved the location, how walkable and safe it felt, and the fire pit in the back yard. One of the bedrooms does have a bunk bed, and there are 2 other bedrooms with a king and queen bed. There are tons of couches and sleeping surfaces. This was the perfect spot for a family Spring Break vacation.

This is our second stay with our pets at Marin’s place. We love the low key neighborhood which is family and pet friendly. The location is accessible to all Charleston offers within a 10-20 minute drive There’s a great greenway walking/bike riding path within 5 minutes of the house. Marin is a great communicator and booking is easy. The house is cozy and artistically designed and decorated. The beds are comfortable and the nights are quiet. We truly feel right at home as soon as we walk in. The house is well stocked with all the necessary sundry items one needs as well as all the spices and cooking utensils one needs to prepare food. The coffee she provides is yummy. We look forward to our next stay!

Karen’s place was exactly as the pictures showed and what was described. My group and I had a lovely stay and would definitely go back again. Karen was proactive and sent out all the information we needed in advance and responded quickly and accurately to my questions!

There was plenty of space for all 7 of us and we thought the neighborhood was really pretty with all of the blooming landscapes. The house had everything that we needed🙂

We loved our stay at this Pete & Jessica's! The property was secluded and peaceful, offering the perfect escape. The fenced-in yard was a great bonus, providing both privacy and a safe space to relax outdoors and for our dog to run around. The home itself was clean and cozy, with everything we needed. They were responsive and made sure our stay was seamless. If you're looking for a centralized cozy retreat, near everything, with a fence this is the perfect spot. We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I enjoy this little gem tucked away in a nice quiet neighborhood! Will definitely book again for any stays in the area ! She was very helpful and sweet to all the needs we had. Recommend for any future stays!

My spouse grew up in Charleston and we—with pet in tow—make one or two trips a year to the area... We've stayed in a number of AirBNBs along the way but had never found one we wanted to return to as our "Charleston place"—until we found Debbie's home. When we walked into the house we immediately felt at home; the vibe is cozy, chic, relaxing... and the kitchen is enviable. I think what's ultimately so great about this house is that you can tell Debbie loves living here. That translates into such a good experience for a guest. Park Circle is quiet, walkable, and there's an abundance of great restaurants nearby. We tried a new one every day and weren't disappointed with any of them (EVO for pizza, EVO Bakery for breakfast pastries, and the Tattooed Moose for sandwiches stick out). One the rare occasion I had a question for Debbie, she always wrote back within 10 or 15 minutes—and she was one of the most accommodating and generous hosts we've ever experienced. We WILL be back!

Ginger replied quickly and gave great details. the first place that I felt I actually got my money's worth for the service and hospitality waiting for us. The kitchen was charming and fun. A blessing to us when we were in a pinch to find a place to stay for the family visiting my grandmother in the hospital. Would stay again!

Perfect location for exploring all James Island, Charleston and Folly Beach has to offer. The bnb was very clean and easy to get to. Highly recommend!

If you have a chance to book it, do yourself a favor and go for it. IMO this is exactly what airbnb is supposed to be - great place, great location, great host. Our family of five had a great time and tons of space. The neighborhood is great - tons of walking places and close to everything. House was great - kitchen has everything, kids loved the pool, the screened in porch is awesome to hang. KO is super responsive and helpful. If we could give 7 stars, we would.

The house was within an easy drive to so many places. Downtown Charleston, the beaches, restaurants. The area the house is in is nice and quiet. Nice screened deck to go out on. Light and inviting in the home. Rob always responded quickly with any questions I had. Highly recommend this home to stay in.

Loved the location and this place met all of our needs and expectations! Was very well stocked with toiletries, toilet paper, soap, coffee, etc which seems to be uncommon at places we've stayed before. This was our first stay at Kiawah and we will be back!

The Condo was exactly as described. Thomas was very responsive with any questions we had. No issues arose at all. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Folly Beach

Jayne’s home was fantastic. It was spacious, inviting, and had all of the amenities you could ask for. While we didn’t get a chance to use the pool because of the very cold weather, the pool looked absolutely incredible and would be perfect on a warmer day. The location of the home was also very close to the beach. I could not imagine a more relaxing environment in which to spend time in Kiawah. I hope to return in the future!

This was our first time visiting Folly and we were not disappointed! Alison's home was just what we were looking for, beautiful clean home right in the heart of Folly. We would absolutely recommend this home; amazing location, everything you need inside, decorated so cute and the pool to top everything off! Can't wait to plan our next visit!

Very nice house and neighborhood. Place was very clean and it was so nice to have everything you would need in the kitchen, such as salt and pepper, tin foil, some trash bags, and cooking utensils. Was even nice to have some beach chairs in the shed. The pool and backyard was amazing. We went the last week of March and unfortunately it was a little chillier week, so did not get to swim too much. It was a close walk to the beach, about an 8-10 minute walk. We did rent a golf cart but don’t think it was really needed. Would definitely stay here again!!

Brianna's condo is perfect for trips to Folly Beach! My husband and I were traveling with our infant and my parents to attend a wedding, and the space was exactly what we needed. The kitchen was great for quick breakfasts and lunches, and there was enough space throughout the home for all of us to spend time together without feeling crowded. The beds were comfortable, and it was so nice to have two full bathrooms and a half bath so no one was waiting for a bathroom to open up. We were able to walk into downtown Folly from the condo with no problem, and the beach was only about a 20-minute walk away (with a baby in tow). Several grocery stores are within a 10-minute drive. The dock and community chairs were a wonderful retreat in the warm sun. Brianna's communication was incredible, and it was extremely easy to get in touch with her if needed. We'd definitely recommend this home to anyone visiting the area!
