Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Hikkaduwa Beach

Lovely spacious home in Weligama, very close to the beach and centre of town. The place is spacious for 2 people with fabulous Wifi. We had a few power cuts, but I think that is to be expected in the area. We didn’t find the bed to be too comfortable and being close to the main road you do get some noise in the early morning. The house itself is quite dark but you have access to a very bright and luscious garden with plenty of beautiful orchids. The host and her family are delightful and always ensured we had what we needed. ☺️

Home away from home- the place is peaceful, in the midst of lush greenery, clean & looks just like the pictures. The host is very responsive & the direction to find the property are easy. Public transport is easy to get.

We had a great stay at Bandula’s villa! Bandula was so helpful and friendly. The place was clean and perfectly located. We would 100% stay here again if we came back to Sri Lanka

Amani's place is the perfect spot when visiting Weligama. They have a beautifully renovated home, with a room upstairs, and another downstairs (each with their own bathrooms). It's in a great location, just 10 minutes from the beach. Check-in was simple, the place was clean, and we really enjoyed our time there. Additionally, the AC worked great! Lastly, the Hosts mother also made us an incredible dinner (for a reasonable price) and it was one of the best meals we had. We would recommend this beautiful place to friends and family, and hope to return sometime in the future. A couple additional notes: The hosts home is connected to the airbnb. Additionally, the home is next to a school, which can be a little noisy in the mornings. This was completely fine for us, since we're early risers, but you may want to bring ear plugs if you like to sleep in.

We absolutely loved our stay here, Josephine and the staff were so helpful and easy to communicate with. The house was stunning and really well kept - I’m a frequent visitor to Sri Lanka and know that I will be staying here again ❤️

We spent three nights at Anna’s place as a family of 3, with a 5 year old. The villa is in a really good location - a 20 minute walk from the main road of restaurants and Unawatuna beach, so away from the hustle and bustle and noise at night (save for the odd wild barking dog!) We found that tuk tuk drivers were reluctant to pick up in the jungle up here using pick me or uber so we either walked or flagged one down if one drove past on the off chance. To overcome this we took peoples numbers on return journeys from dinner and text to see if they were around to pick up! Anna is an attentive and super friendly host and always on hand to answer questions via the app. Her mother in law Sujatha always welcomed us with a smile when we returned to the villa. She also turned the lights on outside the villa for our return for the evening and moved our washing out of the rain when we left it which we thought was super cute. This villa was perfect! Very spacious and both rooms had plenty of privacy. Short walk to the beach and several great restaurants. We extended our stay by a week because the house was so comfortable. Nilu was also very quick with communication whenever we needed anything. Thanks again!

We loved our stay at August Beach house. Michelle’s house is exactly what you see in the photos. It is right on the beachfront with a little gate directly to the sand. Whilst it is on a very busy road we always felt relaxed there and the pool was wonderful. There are great restaurants within easy walking distance. The housekeepers were fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend staying at this place.

We had a very satisfying week in Mirissa, where we visited for the first time, thanks to the wonderful garden, clean pool, homely room, and friendly people. Thank you! It's a shame I couldn't say hello to Mrs. Renjerni at the end.. Chaminda and her family are always happy and I'll visit again next time I have a chance. Thank you:)

This apartment is even nicer than pictures. The apartment is very large, big tv, great wi fi, bed is so comfortable, air con great. Plenty of storage. Kitchen has everything you need. Everywhere was spotless. Apart from an issue with washing machine(fixed straight away) everything was brilliant. Balcony good size. It's only a 10 min easy walk to centre of Hikkaduwa. There is a store right next to it for anything you need with very friendly family. The pool is clean and gets sun all day with comfortable sunbeds and also toilet beside it. The family are so lovely and friendly. I noticed in a previous review about stray dogs, they don't bother you and there's only a few, so don't let that put you off. This apartment was huge compared to my friends somewhere else. I would definitely stay here again

We stayed at Sujeewes place for 5 weeks. It is a great space and has great wifi, especially if you are working. There is lots of space if you like to cook and spend time in the apartment. The balcony is also lovely as you can sit outside and watch the birds. You can hear the prayers in the morning and it's really nice to sit and watch the birds, squirrels, mongoose etc. Sujeewa was very helpful and assisted us with everything needed help with including getting a tuktuk to the next place. He also helped by giving us another fan so we could use the AC less in the main bedroom. The family were really lovely. The rooms are a great size and we felt as though we had a lot of space as a couple. And a great big dining table! There is just a couple of small things I would mention if you were looking to stay here that differ from the photos - there is no oven/microwave as pictured and the balcony also does not have the desk chairs. Other than that, everything was as noted on the listing.

Our stay at Pramod's place with my family was fantastic! He is truly an incredible host, always attentive to our needs and ready to help with anything we required. His kindness and generosity exceeded all expectations, from assisting with our late check-in due to a delayed flight to helping us organize various trips around the area. The apartment is fantastic, always clean and located in a convenient area for any interest. I highly recommend staying with him so an unique experience !

Very sweet Airbnb, right at a great surf spot. Well equipped kitchen, super comfy and clean, nice garden, great lighting concept, washing machine, fridge, just everything you need. The area is very calm and nice, the whole neighborhood very friendly. Thuruni and the owner family were super nice and helpful. Highly recommend it and would come back anytime again. The place was fantastic. Priyantha (the housekeeper) kindly check us in and was very responsive and easy to get a hold of. The flat looks exactly like the photos however there were small bits of cleaning that David was very quick to help sort out! The location was a ~10 mins tuktuk from both Galle Fort and Unawatuna making it great if travelling to both and would recommend going to Tea Zone Unawatuna if you want some amazing local tea. It was very secure as well with security at the entrance of both the building itself and the tower entrance and a great view of the city and the coast from far away. Generally a good stay!

I stayed at Ananda's place for 5 weeks. The place is great! It was extremely clean upon check in. The place is spacious, exatly like the photos. The bed is very comfy with mosquito net. The wifi is strong and stable, perfect for remote working. They also have a small shop where you can get basic stuff such as water, cookies, soap, etc. Very convenient. The location is good. You can walk to the beach, 10-15 min. Ananda and his wife Malika are super host. Very sweet and atentive, they took care about everything so my stay was perfect. Malika is an excellent cook. She cooks absolutely delicious Sri Lankan food for a very reasonable price (way cheaper than any restaurant). It was without any doubt the best local food I tried in Sri Lanka. Definetly a must try! I recommend the place 100%! :)

We are a travelling family and the villa was just perfect for us. We also work online so we needed a quick internet - and it worked very well. Sanjaya and his family are warm beautiful people and they always helped us with anything we asked for. We also enjoyed the garden that is full of birds. Very recommended accomodation! Charming place in a lovely quiet part of Galle Fort. We enjoyed watching couples get wedding photos taken outside. Hosts are a delightful couple of retirees who obviously enjoy having guests stay in their self contained first floor ‘granny flat’. In fact the vibe was a bit like saying at your grandparents place with lots of tried and tested practical features and good internet! Was lovely to stay here and can highly recommend.

We will remember our time in Galle with such fondness, thanks to the wonderful hospitality of Nihal and Chandra. They went above and beyond to make our 3 night stay a comfortable and enjoyable one. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious. It was well equipped and included all the necessities, and most importantly, they all functioned perfectly, including the microwave, water dispenser, clothes washing facility, AC/fan, and the toilet/shower. Chandra kindly prepared an absolutely delicious bed tea and breakfast for us on two of the mornings, and they were always downstairs to help with anything, from advice about local attractions, to loaning us umbrellas and beach towels. We can't thank them enough for their thoughtfulness and generosity. We highly recommend a stay at their apartment - they truly are superhosts!

Very spacious place and very clean. Padma and her family are nice, very flexible with check-in and check-out and went out their way to meet our needs. Great place and very well equipped kitchen. It’s next to the main road which is very loud but you can’t hear it too much from the bedroom. The secret beach is only 30 seconds walk away!!!

The apartment is very clean and spacious, completely true to the description and photos. Natalie left lots of food recommendations and helped us find a driver to get there. From the balcony we often watched mongoose or varans walking by. Totally recommend!

The old chilli house really did feel like a home from home. In a great location Kris and his family were very warm and welcoming. Kris is a natural host and had contacts for anything we wanted to do. From Tuk Tuk and Scooter rides when needed to his amazing knowledge of the area. We were so lucky to experience this little slice of paradise. The old chilli house has beautiful rooms, with attention to small, homey details. Do not hesitate to book, it’s a popular airbnb for a reason!
