An ideal stop off of the A9. Perfect for the NC500. The beach adjacent to the cottage is a lovely extra. With a great bridge to cross. The cottage was super clean. With a very comfy bed. It had everything you would expect from a cottage in Scotland! Alexa was really helpful and answered all of my questions; as well as quickly arranging another night's accommodation at the cottage, due to a storm. Dunbeath is a lovely place to visit whilst at the cottage.

Loved the location, area quiet, just minutes From shops, and also from beautiful beach with Orkney in the distance. Would gladly stay here again and very much recommend it.

Great communication from Simon and Lyndsey throughout, railway line very close but don’t let that put you off, it’s a local line not the east coast mainline, only heard two trains and they were slow, none ran through the night. Great facilities, everything you might need, like a home from home. Stairs to the two bedrooms upstairs are very steep but there is a good handrail, bear it in mind if you have difficulty climbing stairs, double bed is downstairs. TV can lose internet signal and whirl away for short periods at times and previous customer changed language to German, for the life of me I couldn’t get it back to English but it didn’t stop its use. Lovely stepping stone for an overnight stay or would make a great base if staying in the area for longer, plenty of parking so no problem unloading kit. Will definitely use again on our regular trips to Orkney, a little gem.

Our stay at Ruth's was unforgettable. We only spent a night here but the location is gorgeous and Ruth was so welcoming. We arrived mid afternoon and she was kind to show us around and how to work the heat (but we never got cold in mid September). Horses and Shetland ponies line the place, and we were lucky enough to see a herd of Red Deer! Truly beautiful, would stay here again any time.
