Places to stay in Goochland

We’re so grateful to James for accommodating our same-day check-in while visiting a family member in the hospital at VCU. The home was very clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. During a snowstorm, we found the beds a bit cold at night since they only had a thin bedspread and small throw. Also, a train passed by a couple of times a day but never disturbed our sleep. There was some miscommunication about extending our stay—we were initially told we could, then informed it was booked, though it turned out it wasn’t. By the time the mistake was realized, we had already made other arrangements. James was apologetic and responsive when he saw the issue, which we appreciated. Despite that, we had a good stay and truly appreciated James’s hospitality during a stressful time.

This property was wonderful. We came for Christmas together and it was perfect. The kitchen was well appropriated. The bedrooms were nice. There is one bathroom, but it is accessible from the master. The back is really large. If it were summer, you could cookout and kids could play games. It's perfect.

Anne's place was the perfect choice for a quick overnight girl's trip in Ashland. Anne was a great host - responsive, helpful, she provided great recommendations, allowed us to check in a few hours early, and even made up the hide-a-bed before our arrival so we didn't have to! Her place was cozy, comfortable, and well-appointed! I wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we ever come back this way!

Lesa was such a friendly host. The house had everything we needed and more! It was very comfortable and felt bigger than what I thought it would be based on the pictures. Lesa provided many personal touches from the coffee station to snacks to toiletries. I will definitely stay here again when I’m in the area.

This place was so well stocked and inviting. There was plenty of food in the refrigerator for breakfast. We did not need to buy anything at all. There was also a great deal of toiletries in case we forgot something. We really enjoyed this house.

My family and I had a great time staying at the Trailside Treehouse! Everything was clean and easy to find. We appreciated the pull-out bed option in the basement as well. My 3-year-old hung with us the first night but the second night he and my husband slept in the basement while my daughter and I slept in the treehouse. The weather was cold, so the heated blankets/mattress pads were great - very cozy and kept us warm through the night. Loved all the games, books, and toys throughout both the treehouse and the basement and the cute snack basket as well. We enjoyed our weekend trip!

Dan and Donna were fabulous hosts. Their communication was so quick with no fuss. They couldn’t have been more helpful, from replacing faulty hairdryer to allowing us to stay on a little as our flight had changed. Wonderful people. The place was lovely, a real home from home, and absolutely spotless, one of the cleanest places I’ve ever stayed. The surrounding area was so peaceful and the place itself very private.

Henry was able to change my booking last minute which was extremely helpful, and I thought the extra touches of the comfy blankets, chocolates on the beds made the place very cozy. It was extremely clean, and very comfortable.

Brittany’s place was great. It’s just like the pictures (the only thing we didn’t realize from the listing was that it’s a duplex). This worked just fine for our large group, though. Brittany was super responsive ahead of check in and very helpful overall. She even offered to put up a Christmas tree for us and left ornaments for us to decorate. We’d definitely stay here or at any other of her places in the future!
