This place was a stand out for its beautiful rooms. We had a very comfortable sleep and our first real hot shower. The staff were all lovely and working hard to keep the grounds beautiful. Lovely place!

First of all, book this place! We loved the place (and especially both hosts). From the first second we immediately felt “arrived” and “at home”. Although the accommodation is not the most luxurious, it is about a half hour from Sigiriya, but you can see monkeys playing on its terrace and watching more animals. The place is really a little paradise and great for discovering nature/animals or just relaxing. Be sure to try dinner in the accommodation, it is incredibly delicious and prepared with a lot of love. As a small tip, if you want to take a safari: book it in the accommodation instead of beforehand with providers you don't know. We had a wonderful time staying in Kimbissa. The location was perfect—peaceful and surrounded by nature, yet close to key attractions like Sigiriya and Pidurangala. Seeing the peacocks and crocodiles were a particular highlight. The house was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay. What truly set this stay apart was the incredible home-cooked meals prepared. For lunch there was a choice of 6 curries and for breakfast there was coconut roti, local fruit and a traditional Sri Lankan omelette. Navinda was outstanding—so warm and accommodating. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and even shared tips on where to find the best local produce. The outdoor spaces were also fantastic, offering a tranquil spot to enjoy our meals surrounded by nature. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a peaceful, home-like stay in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Central Province. We can’t wait to come back!
