Perfect cottage for a nice weekend away with our anxious dog, very remote area and it was amazing to have a full paddock to ourselves for our dog to run around! The cottage was absolutely spotless and even came with a free breakfast! Both Peter & Hilary are on hand to help you with any questions/issues and offered a really friendly stay. Just gutted we didn’t book for longer!

Nat and I enjoyed a nice escape to the countryside at the Sparrow in Kirkoswald. The flat has strong cottage vibes and we loved the fireplace! The flat was warm at all times, as the heating is connected with the main house where Fi and Wade stay and it's on daily. But the fireplace is very quick at warming up the flat even more. We had everything, from a large amount of wood to burn, to fresh milk in the fridge. The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils, while the bathroom is very modern and comfortable. Bed and sofa were as comfortable. The local pub makes very nice fish and chips and it's a few meters down the hill. The Sparrow was super easy to find thanks to Fi and Wade precise instructions. Many hikes in the lake district are a short drive away. Highly recommended and will definitely be back!

I can’t recommend this Airbnb enough. Cosy Hideaway is the perfect description for this lovely flat. Mary has been a perfect host. Her communication has been both prompt and very welcoming. The flat was beautifully presented and very clean. It has everything you need for a perfect stay. My visit was in winter and the flat was very easy to heat. The location is fantastic too. Right in the centre of the lovely little town of Alston.

Such a sweet space to spend a week. Andri, Tom and everyone who lives there is kind and accommodating. In winter, be prepared to tend the wood stove as it gets quite cold - but that can be part of the charm as well. The space is beautiful built and overall a pleasant stay.
