This is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Lakes district, the Eden Valley is just beautiful and Woodpecker Cottage is ideally located. The surrounding area is beautiful and The Highland Drove Inn is right next door and the locals made us feel very welcome. Woodpecker Cottage is a cosy and warm cottage but it has plenty of space and a magnificent bathroom. It has all the facilities you could possibly need. Hilary and Peter are wonderful responsive hosts who were on hand for our every need. The welcoming touch of providing fresh bread, butter, jam, eggs and fruit was just great. I would highly recommend Woodpecker Cottage.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage was cosy, but with modern amenities. We had everything we needed and it was a great base as we explored the local area. The log burner with wood included was a great touch, and the contact I had with Fi was informative and she was very friendly and helpful. Check in and out was hassle free. The guidebooks/leaflets in the cottage were very helpful to plan our days out. I would happily stay here again, it was lovely.

A small but perfectly formed flat which was immediately welcoming and everything we hoped for. It was very clean with good heating, a nice hot shower, comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. Excellent for a quiet stay and has decent Wi-Fi and TV if needed!

I had a wonderful stay at this beautifully designed barn-style home. The warm, cozy interior—with brass tones, high wooden beams, and perfectly curated decor—was stunning. The secluded location offered breathtaking views, including a herd of sheep grazing nearby. The host was friendly, professional, and very understanding. A perfect getaway—I’d love to return!
