Monthly Rentals in Fajã da Caldeira

We loved the accommodation, an experience in a typical Azorean house sitting amidst a variety of flowers and located in the heart of a faja facing the ocean and the island of Pico. So obviously the location is very isolated but that's exactly what we're looking for. On arrival and departure, Daniel helped us carry our luggage on the stone path that leads to the house. Daniel is a super friendly host, considerate and always available, it's very much appreciated! The welcome basket of local produce was excellent, the best eggs I've ever eaten elsewhere, thank you Daniel!

This comfortable cottage is located in a beautiful and peaceful setting near the bottom of a steep & curvy road. There is a lovely side view over the church to the neighboring faja & sea from the front of the house. The area is remote, and there are no large grocery stores or restaurants nearby. We bought food in Velas and were able to cook in the well equipped kitchen and dine on the front patio. Walking in the neighborhood is fairly limited. Having a car is essential to access other parts of the island. We did not get to meet Anabela, but she was quick to respond to questions and offered an easy and flexible check in/out. However, we had trouble finding the home. It was rainy and foggy upon on our arrival which made it more difficult, but using the recommended Waze app still took us to the wrong location. Make sure you have proper coordinates before starting your journey. Highly recommended for a quiet and relaxing get away.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay at Antonio's place. The perfect mix of modern amenities and old farm style charm. We were spoilt with local specialities and felt warmly welcomed and right at home. We enjoyed staying in this small beautiful quiet village and explored the rest of the island from this special homebase. Just magical. Highly recommend it.
