Wow, where do I begin!?! We had such an amazing stay at Jean’s place. It is a beautiful home, very comfortable and had everything we needed. Jean had her staff meet us at the private dock and help us with our backpacks (there are a lot of steps and we weren’t used to the altitude, so that was a lifesaver). The views of the lake were phenomenal, and we really enjoyed drinking our morning coffee down at the lake and watching the sunrise. The terrace is great for views, lounging and birdwatching. Jean was very helpful and arranged for a driver to our next stop when the unusually high winds made traveling by boat a no-go. We will definitely be back!! Thanks for the amazing hospitality, Jean!

Gregs place is beautiful! It has such an amazing view and not too far from San Marcos. The restaurants in the area are lovely, and I also enjoyed the hike to Tzununa. He was an also a friendly and very responsive host.

The place is a beautiful design for those who want a 100 % view. The glass wall with sliding doors to the open air, make it feel like the outside is inside. It is minimal yet quite comfy. Plenty of space for 2. We spent hours sitting on the couch looking at the lake/volcano view. Kitchen was nice, well equipped for cooking. Note, there is no microwave or coffee maker. There is a french press. The bedroom is downstairs and is a comfy room with a nice king bed. The bathroom/shower is really nice (big shower!). Note, the water does not get very hot, but enough to enjoy a shower. The location is great - you can walk to town or beach in 5 mins. Much quieter location than in town for sure. Note, there is no parking here (I missed that when I booked it) in case you have a car. Mary was very easy to work with. She goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is nice.

Caretaker meet us at the gate to let us in and gave us a comprehensive tour of the cabin. Cabin was better than the photos, beautiful views, private, kitchen had everything we needed. Suggest purchasing groceries prior to check in. Kayak was a fun option we took advantage of. Private dock was nice to watch sunrise and sunset. Recommend this cabin.

We had the most magical stay at Leslie’s house in San Marcos La Laguna! The location is unbeatable—just steps from the main dock and the heart of town, with shops, restaurants, and all the local happenings within easy walking distance. It’s also a short stroll to the nature reserve, where we had the unforgettable experience of jumping off rocks into the pristine waters of Lake Atitlán. The house itself is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding volcanoes. Every detail of the home is thoughtfully designed, creating a perfect blend of comfort and beauty. What truly made our stay exceptional was the incredible hospitality of the caretaker, Mariano, and his wife, Petrona. They prepared delicious breakfasts for us every morning and kept the house immaculate. Leslie went above and beyond to organize a cacao ceremony, which was a transformative experience, and even arranged for a fantastic cook to prepare

Our stay was absolutely amazing. From the moment we stepped onto the property, we had a wonderful time. To start, the house and location were stunning. We spent a lot of time hanging by the pool, soaking in the hot tub and jumping in the lake. We were easily able to walk into town, where we could grab a public boat to others spots along the lake. Additionally, the house and location felt very safe. The service at this property went above and beyond. Everyone we interacted with from Aaron to the property’s caretakers (Edgar and Eliseo) was incredibly friendly and helpful. Aaron helped arrange private massages and a chef while Edgar and Eliseo helped us with any questions we had about the property or San Marcos. I would wholeheartedly recommend this spot!

Great place to stay and good bargain for the price.

Maura’s house was better than we could ever have imagined. The photos barely do it justice. The views are stunning. Each bedroom has views of the lake and volcanos that are amazing. Everything looked new and clean. We would highly recommend hiring Maura’s staff for cooking. We had several meals during our stay and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic. We stayed over the Christmas holiday and to say that the lake lights up on Christmas Eve is an understatement. It was a magical experience to see and hear the all the towns around the lake celebrating. We will remember it forever. The Mayan sauna was a real treat. We used it several times during our stay. There are a number of steep steps up to the property from the road which are a bit tricky if you have a lot of luggage. We were lucky that Maura met us at the dock and helped arrange tuktuks to bring us to the house and the drivers carried our bags. Maura was very responsive and helpful throughout.

Our stay was amazing. Michelle’s place is beautiful, cozy and has the greatest view. It’s also very well located. We took the ferry to San Juan and Santa Cruz, and the walk to the dock (and the main tourist street with all the restaurants) takes literally 3 minutes, just like described. We also used the paddle board twice, with the kids. It was our first time and it was a great experience. Lake Atitlan is astonishingly beautiful and the paddle board opens a whole new perspective. Loved it, and will always remember our stay in San Marcos.
