Cabin vacation rentals in Dolly Sods Wilderness

This cabin was perfect for us to have a relaxing weekend away. It was just secluded enough to be able to relax and enjoy the breathtaking mountain views. The quaint little town was close with a few restaurants and a grocery. The kitchen was very well equipped for us to be able to stay in and cook.

Was great. Excellent description, i do agree a 4 wheel drive is important as there were some icy areas but overall not bad. Hot tub was great. Game room was a little smaller and less impressive than i anticipated, small ping pong table, small pac man, all pool curs missing tips but it served its purpose. Nice big back area that when the weather is warmer I would think is very nice. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Overall highly recommend!

I can’t say enough great things about this cabin and the Super hosts that made sure every detail of our stay was comfortable!! We drove 14hrs to stay here and when we parked and stepped out on the property you can hear the soothing sound of the running stream surrounding the property, they had the hot tub turned on and every bit of this place was spotless and cozy!! They did not leave anything out. First time I’ve ever rated an air bnb stay but this place was well deserving of praise.

Thank you so much Marissa for such a wonderful stay! We were really comfortable in the cabin and we loved how peaceful and quiet it was. It had everything we needed and we appreciated the extra blankets and towels. Marissa was really helpful in answering our questions and giving us directions to the cabin. It snowed heavily during our stay and the cabin owners came by to clear the snow from the mountain and the driveway. It was definitely the vacation we needed! We plan on staying here again!

Great Hosts, friendly and helpful, had advices and directions for places to go to and things to do. Had nice chats ontop. Cabin was great, peaceful, quiet, great beds, kitchen had everything you need for your normal cooking needs, nice view from the deck. I can recommend this place without hesitation.

The cozy cabin in Virginia was the perfect retreat! Secluded yet close to charming small towns in West Virginia, it offered the best of both worlds—peace, privacy, and easy access to nature. The cabin was well-stocked with firewood and all listed amenities, making the stay seamless. Oscar’s instructions were clear and easy to follow. The outdoor tub took a little effort to get going, but once it did, it was a divinely unique experience! The fireplace worked perfectly, setting the scene for cozy nights. The home was in pristine condition, with every detail thoughtfully considered & perfectly decorated. Oscar’s hospitality and communication were top-notch, making the stay even more enjoyable. If you’re looking for a quiet escape surrounded by nature and hiking trails, this is the place to be!

First off, beautiful property and neighborhood. We enjoyed our stay and the amenities. The upstairs shower head came loose the first night and sprayed water everywhere, but this should be repaired at the time I’m writing this review. The hot tub is fairly new and adequately sized for the amount of guests the property is for. However, it was not working to its full potential during our stay, only heating up to 85 degrees. It may have just needed more water to function properly, and the host was willing to guide us through it despite the frozen water hoses, but due to the snowfall and low temperatures during our stay we decided to not bother with it. And just like the description mentions; be sure to have a capable vehicle if it’s going to be snowing, we did get stuck in the driveway and had to get pulled out of the snow which damaged our van. Overall, we would recommend this property if you’re looking for an isolated mountain getaway.

We loved our stay at this beautiful, private property. The hot tub and fire pit made this the perfect winter getaway. The cabin was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare quick meals. Derek was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to questions.

Jan was a great host and the property was phenomenal. Quiet, cozy and as advertised with great views, easy access to local activities and safe. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a mountain getaway.

We loved our winter weekend getaway at Cynthia's house. The house was clean and well-stocked, and exactly as described. It was perfect for a family of 4 and our dog. The location is so beautiful and serene, the views from the deck can't be beat. We were there in January and enjoyed a hike in the woods before the snow came, and then sledding on the driveway all afternoon after it snowed. We really appreciated that the driveway was already plowed the next morning when we woke up on our departure day, and the hosts offered a late checkout to help the roads thaw a bit before we left. An outstanding and comfortable property! We've been to other dog-friendly rentals, but this one went above and beyond. So accomodating and homey. And the snow was the icing on the cake. It was even more lovely under the fresh snow. Thank you for sharing it with us and our two fur babies!

we loved our stay here! The house was a cozy, with plenty of space for us and our two kids. The board games were a hit! Location was perfect- easy 10 minutes to Timberline, 5 minutes to Davis. Laura was a great host- super responsive and even quickly took care of mailing us something we left behind! we'll definitely stay here again

Very cozy mountain cabin. The kids loved the loft and the spiral staircase, we loved the wood burning fireplace. Arrived in a big snowstorm but had no trouble getting in/out of the resort to make it to the mountain. Would definitely stay here again.

I very much enjoyed my stay here while visiting Virginia. The location was very peaceful with its surrounding areas and views. The host (Su) was very responsive and friendly as well, they made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our stay. Would stay here again in the future.

Beautiful and peaceful! This small cabin was perfect for a few solo days of reflection and reset at the end and beginning of the year. I loved the trails around the property and how quiet and serene the place was. The cabin itself had everything I needed. Even during some bitterly cold days, the mini-split kept things entirely warm and cozy. Highly recommend staying here!

This was a very nostalgic trip as it was our second time staying at Marty and Melanie’s property. We got married there the first time and celebrated our 4 year anniversary the second time. Mellanie went out of her way to ensure we had an enjoyable experience both times. Would definitely continue to make return visits as we love the property and all the area has to offer.

Our family stayed at Sweet Serenity for a long weekend and had a wonderful time! The cohosts were very proactive with instructions and helpful with prepping the place after a recent snowstorm. We were excited to spend time in a cabin along the beautiful Rawley Springs and loved playing in the snow then warming up by the fire. We took a lovely neighborhood walk to Blue Hole, which was the perfect journey for our 2 and 5 year old kids. Our dog was very happy too! We spent a day skiing at Massanutten (about 40 minutes away) and came back to relax in the peaceful space. The beds were super comfortable, bath and kitchen very clean and everything was just as we had hoped and more! We hope to come back during another season for more exploring.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was a great post Christmas trip to the region. We actually felt the photos didn't do it justice and it's a little cuter and nicer than we were expecting!

We loved our stay in Cabin #2! What a wonderfully constructed off-grid cabin in the beautiful mountains of WV. Pansy & her husband were extremely kind & helpful, and the property itself is gorgeous and massive…allowing the cabin to feel secluded and remote. The cabin was cozy & perfect for 2, especially if you are planning on spending most time outdoors (as we were). The hiking in the area is amazing! We cannot wait to return and look forward to booking this cabin again!
