Vacation rentals with a kayak in Darwen

Gorgeous house and lovely location. Drive is tight but we have a big car and managed it absolutely fine. We had a lovely relaxing weekend there, we did some walks directly from the house and relaxed in front of the fire, which was exactly what we went to do! House was exactly as described and felt huge! The living room was very cosy, and it was great having the two log burners, and all bedrooms were very comfortable.

Perfect cottage for families with an on site restaurant, takeaway pizza and great walks nearby. Cottage was clean with a log burner and selection of games to keep us entertained!

A beautiful, modern lake side house with spacious open plan kitchen and living area with stunning views over the lake. The bedrooms were spacious, beds were comfy and we had everything we needed for our stay. We were pleasantly surprised with birthday treats when we arrived, which were a nice touch. Impeccably clean, and decorated tastefully. Lots to do near by, but it felt secluded enough to enjoy a countryside feel. Thanks for letting us come, we had a great time. James was responsive and helpful when needed.

I am absolutely amazed by this place. Breathtakingly beautiful. Photos don’t even do justice. I was at peace and so happy that I chose this place to spend time away from my home. It is so peaceful, absolutely great host, the outdoor area is sooooo beautiful. I will come back again and again with my family. I’m even going ahead to book now. I am so thankful for the time spent here. It helped my love nature even more. And the Dog!…so adorable and friendly. Allison is such a wonderful and hardworking host. The lake!! Don’t get me started. Rooms were so clean. I honestly was blown away. Thank you so much for this amazing experience. I do want to get married here 😏

I had a fabulous weekend stay at Darrell and Eva's beautiful house with a group of girlfriends. It looks JUST like the photos in a stunning spot on the water. Peaceful and spacious with everything you could need for a comfortable stay, the house was immaculate. We particularly loved being able to sit on the deck in the sunshine and despite not being brave enough to try the kayaks on the water, we enjoyed watching the geese, ducks and swans having a paddle! Very easy walking from the house to various eateries and some lovely walks. Generous parking available and Darrell and Eva were extremely helpful and responsive hosts. Thanks for having us!

Gorgeous air B&B, amazing location. Beds are really comfy and all hosts responded fast when we encountered a small issue. For minor improvements - their was only 8 forks and 9 of us so was a slight issue when it came too having a meal together. - their isn’t enough chairs for 10 guests either which is problematic when wanting to have a big sit down meal. Apart from them minor faults highly recommend staying!

We had a fantastic stay. We came for a work writing retreat and Jon's place was very quiet and spacious to let us focus on writing. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked, beds super comfy and the paddleboards/kayaks were a welcome distraction from writing. Would also be a great place for families, as there were many games, etc. Would definitely stay here again.

Top Locks Cottage is the most perfect place to say. It is spacious, amazingly tastefully appointed and is situated in a stunning and peaceful location. Everything about it is perfection. Finally, the wood fired hot tub is such fun. You do need to light the wood fire to heat the water as long in advance as you are able to, in order to get the water up to the correct temperature. However it is well worth the effort! Tony

We had a smashing stay at Angela’s. Great and swift communications. As fir the house itself, Imagine that you are house sitting a farmhouse. Everything you need is there and works. Look at the photos it perfectly captures the quirk and character of that old house. We enjoyed it and would return. Just what we wanted. Hay is ten minutes drive, the river is a small walk away and the great black mountains basically up hill from right there. The roads are so quiet, the garden beautiful and the night is properly dark. Just what we wanted.

We had a great stay here. Laura prepared a cot and a high chair for our baby and there was a basket with some toys and some baby cutlery and plates. The cottage is gorgeous and the beds were very comfortable. Highly recommend staying here it really felt like a home away from home.

Lovely converted barn with a beautiful space and surroundings. Ideally located for all the beacon walks too! Highly recommend.

The property was beautiful and set in some amazing countryside. Colin was always friendly and responsive, we had a lovely couple of nights here. If you stay make sure you take a walk down to the local Moon Inn which does wonderful food.

Spent two nights at the cottage, the experience was surreal. It place allows you to disconnect from daily life and take a moment. There are lots of treks and walks around the cottage. Drive up to the cottage is an adventure but definitely worth the effort once you get there. Cottage doesn’t have wi fi but you get decent mobile connectivity so that wasn’t an issue at all. If you love looking out to fantastic views and enjoy exploring the hill on your feet you have got to try this one. 15 minutes drive from Bala town where you get all amenities.

We had a magical stay at the Hovel. The area is absolutely stunning and there’s so much to explore around the bnb. Toby and Stephanie were wonderful hosts and were always quick to respond to any queries we had. The dogs Tilly and Nugget were a big highlight for us, they were so friendly and accompanied us to the lake for a few hours. Definitely will be visiting again!

Charle's House was perfect for our visit, myself and my two sons, great to escape a busy life's and relax in peacful surroundings, great walks on tap. The house provided comfortable bathrooms, showers fantastis and baths also. The kitchen well equiped, The main livind room large big sofas, and a magic really warm and cosy log fire. The house also has underfloor heating. The weather was bright but very chilly, so very cosy staying in playing board games. Charle's was really helpfull when we needed him, also great to meet Emma his Wife when we arrived, who dispit our early arrival was very generous in allowing us to get unpacked and sorted out. thank you both.

A girls night away in the cabins and we wanted to stay forever longer! When we arrived we were so shocked by how stunning it was, so quiet with only the sound of the river and the most stylish cabins and good sized hot tub. It had everything we could've needed and a very high tech air fryer. Anthony was very responsive and friendly and came out in the evening to fix a lightbulb for us. The hot tub was beautifully clean and a lovely temperature. I have sent links to all my friends and family because you must see this place! Thank you so much, and we will be back! Xx

I loved my stay at Riverside Cabins it was beautiful and peaceful and everything we needed! We are going to make this our annual anniversary because it’s just everything you need for a romantic stay! It was so clean there was absolutely no faults what so ever!

We stayed at Riverside Cabins as a surprise for my husband's birthday. From the time of booking, with help to have balloons in the cabin prior to our arrival, to organising the hot tub to warm up quicker as we were only staying for 1 night, everyone was so friendly, accommodating & extremely helpful! I couldn't recommend this place enough! The location is no more than perfect! It was a freezing cold night (-2 i think) which gave us the beautifully clear skies on which to view the stars from the hot tub. I couldn't think of a better place to have been on such a perfect night! Luckily we live local so will definitely be staying again and I have already recommended Riverside Cabins to my family and friends. The cabin was clean, warm and cosy, well equiped & beautifully decorated with a very comfy bed. Loved it! I would say more but I'm running out of the allocated number of characters! Quick you need to book before you miss out on experiencing such a perfect location! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful property. Will definitely be back as we loved it so much. The lodge was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was absolutely amazing! Stunning lodge, big private garden and beautiful, quiet surroundings. Easy check in and check out too. Host is helpful and responsive. 10/10 stay!

This is an excellent place. Anthony has gone to exceptional lengths to make this the kind of place that he himself would have wanted to holiday in. The grounds are vast, the chalets are well spaced out, there is a sense of real peace and tranquility - the sound of running water from the nearby river, birds chirping, nearby woodland, stand up paddle boards and sit on canoes available to borrow free of charge to meander down the river with. The accommodation itself is very well thought out and very good quality. Even in the compact chalet which we were in there was a large walk in shower and plenty of covered space outside in which we could have our meals and relax. Hot tub is well maintained and was already warmed for our arrival. We came here to have a base from which to take part in the Ultimate Triathlon at Ellesmere. We'll certainly come back and stay here again next time.

Highly recommend Sian and her place! We booked last minute and she was so responsive and helpful. Place was ready by 12pm and was spotless. Great quiet spot and great place to get away from everywhere. Was lovely to be surrounded by the animals and Sian left lovely helpful notes. worth every penny :)

This was the nicest caravan by far that we have stayed in at 7 Lakes. It was beautifully decorated for the festive season and Kate had gone to a lot of trouble to make it super cosy and welcoming for us. My husband and I would love to come back again anytime. Just want to say a huge 'THANKYOU' to Kate for her efforts and for being such a super host.
