Vacation rentals with lake access in Bentota

We stayed at Madampe for Christmas, it was one of the best stays for all of us. The villa is prettier and bigger that in the pictures, pool was clean all the time, very beautiful trees and flowers. The hosts were amazing, very friendly and attentive, they also cooked us amazing dishes for a very good price. It was very peaceful and homey, the beach is literally 5 minute walk from villa and we saw the most amazing sunsets. One thing I would suggest is that if you’re planning to visit Madampe house make sure to bring mosquito repellant spray. Other than that everything was beyond our expectations!

We stayed two days in the lake house and were completely thrilled! The house is really huge and flooded with light. The rooms were all clean and on the first morning we were brought sliced fruit. We are completely satisfied and would always choose this place again. Thank you very much!

Madu’s place was fantastic—peaceful, quiet, and perfect for a relaxing stay. The house is fully private, with its own kitchen and bathroom, offering great comfort and independence. The host, Madu, is incredibly communicative and helpful. Whether you have questions or need assistance, he’s always reachable, either in person or via phone. One thing to keep in mind: if you want to be close to the city center, it’s about a 20–30 minute walk, as the house is situated near the second river up north. However, this also means you get to enjoy a quiet, secluded space with almost no neighbours. (bonus: you get to see some fireflies at night) If you have a scooter, getting around won’t be an issue at all!

We stayed here for a friend's wedding in Bentota. It was an excellent place to stay and relax following all the events associated with a South Indian wedding. The location was a bit out of the way - our initial Uber there wound up charging us extra because we had to go up a dirt road - but Edward was very accommodating and put us in touch with a few tuk-tuk drivers who took us to and from the different events that were planned. He even drove us to an event himself when we couldn't find a ride. The food was also quite good - every meal had a spread of Sri Lankan dishes cooked from locally sourced ingredients. He shared the proposed menu with us and adjusted it after learning that our party had three vegetarians.

Lahiru and Piyushani are such lovely and warm people and their place is such a peaceful tropical oasis. Everything you could wish for is around this area, incredible beaches, food, temples and green tropics. They very kindly upgraded us to their villas which were just divine. Clean and airy with lovely spaces to sit and read all day…as we chose to do on multiple days. It has an amazing bed to sleep in and is very private and spacious. We ended up staying two weeks just because it felt like the perfect space to stop. They were caring in checking in and making sure everything was ok. Would stay here again and again and again. Paradise 🌴

I recently stayed at 1908 Villa and had a wonderful experience. The host is extremely friendly and has excellent knowledge of the local area, offering helpful tips and recommendations. Despite being over 100 years old, the villa is in fantastic condition, beautifully renovated, and very clean. The fast internet was a big plus! The beach is just a short walk away, perfect for watching sunsets, and it’s only a 10-minute drive to the famous Hikkaduwa Beach. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

We stayed 6 nights. One of the best places to stay in Sri Lanka. self-contained accommodation, well fenced, magical views of the lake pool very pleasant. Nishantha and his wife are very attentive to our requests and very available. beach 200 meters away .

I enjoyed my stay here. There were a few electrical issues withe the lamp but it got resolved. The surrounding is really beautiful a bit far but there’s tuktuk passing by every now and then.

Nalaka and his family are the highlight of this place. You get your privacy but you also feel completely embraced by the presence of a loving family. Nalaka is an extremely gifted cook, the kingfish he made for my dinner upon arrival was exceptional. The house is truly beautiful and the passion of hosting and taking care of guests is so genuine. It’s humbling to be here and such a privilege to be welcomed the way I was ❤️ thank you so much Nalaka and Verasheh

Perfect. Large area, has place tor everything: work, train, chill, hangout with friends. Having other guests around makes it a great place for making connections. But having a bike is a must to comfortably get around

I’m travelling solo and this place was just perfect for me, right in the heart of beautiful lush greens and small rivers, I had a wonderful time. It’s very secluded and I enjoyed that, definitely a place for nature lovers in the sense that, you’re in nature lol. Lots of sitting space and there is an a/c inside which is definitely needed. Vinodh and his wife provided snacks, water, milk, juice, and tea, what a hospitable host, I literally cannot say enough about them. He always answered me, helped arrange activities, and he made me an Incredible spread for breakfast ( which I really miss now). I have to mention, the river safari he arranged for me was on of the highlights of my trip so far, I highly recommend it, DANESH WAS THE BEST!! Just book it, you won’t regret it
