If you want to immerse yourself in the true Lamu then this is the place for you. Stunning old house right in the centre with all the surrounding hussle and bussle of a proper Kenyan town. We were looked after like royalty. Jacky the chef cooked us delicious local meals with fish, prawns and crab caught locally. Abraham quietly catered to our every need. They were all magnificent. A quick boat taxi whisks you to Peponis for a night out or a delicious lunch on the terrace. And the beach there is spectacular. We loved every minute. Our stay in this beautiful house made a family holiday so memorable and it’s one we’ll cherish for ever. Thank you 🤩

Tarik was a great host, property was just like the photos. He gave us options of how to arrive at the accommodation and we chose the one with an assisted guide to make finding the place a lot easier/faster, plus check-in was quick, painless & flexible. It's in a great location and although not found if navigating via Google maps, it is very easy to find. Plenty of restaurants, little stores and chemists nearby if needed. The place was very clean and quiet with the downstairs pool very clean. The oversized chair in the living room can also double as an extra bed for parties with an extra individual. The wifi is good, the staff is great (they cleaned up midweek during our stay and also helped get rid of a massive spider at my request). Tarik was also great at recommending who we needed to contact for things such as getting around or signing up for activities such as the sunset sail or snorkeling day trip. Other than a minor issue already raised with Tarik, I highly recommend.

Our favourite thing about our stay was the staff! Paul and chef Michael were both so hospitable, polite and put in a lot of effort to make sure we felt comfortable and enjoyed our time in Amu. The food was delicious and we loved that we got to experience local cuisine right in the house. The host was very communicative and accommodating—he responded to messages swiftly and with sufficient detail. Both our host and the staff gave us excellent recommendations for activites and tours! The location is ideal, it’s easy to remember how to get to the house from the docks and it is surrounded by a number of attractions. The architecture and decor of the house is stunning and a wonderful nod to the design history of Lamu. We especially enjoyed spending time on the roof, which always had a welcome breeze, and in the lap pool. This space is wonderful for large groups, especially families with younger children and Paul and chef Michael greatly contributed to the home away from home vibe!

Lovely penthouse in the heart of Lamu city. If you want to stay in the hustle and bustle of the city then I highly recommend this penthouse. Najma is always willing to help and so proactive, friendly and warm, so hard not to love her! The transit from the airport to the house was swift. Thanks a lot for everything Najma. Only thing to remember is to carry water as water is not provided in the Airbnb
