Cottage vacation rentals in Argyll and Bute Council

Flew in from Toronto, Canada to this beautiful home away from home. Barbara, Graeme (and Rosie) were extremely hospitable and welcoming hosts. The cottage has everything you need. Lovely, comfortable linens and beds, clean and modern bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and great and private hot tub. The location is very rural, but easy to find with google maps. The town of Kilburnie is close by with a grocery store, gas station and pharmacy among other amenities.

We enjoy this cottage so much that this is the 3rd time we have been. The perfect place to relax.

Lovely house set in a fantastic location with amazing views. The house was comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. Hot tub and sauna was a welcomed bonus after long walks. Hosts were very responsive.

Lovely and peaceful, with super loch views and a relaxed vibe. Nicely curated and perfect for our elderly golden retriever as everything was, bar a few steps here and there, on one level. The covered deck is ideal whatever the weather. Would recommend.

Fab place to stay in Loch Long. The scenery is beautiful and there’s plenty to keep you busy. The cottage was lovely and highly recommend

A thoughtful use of the space within the cottage. A few niggles with lights not working & no local electrician available. Lots of local information. The hot tub is well worth the time it takes to heat up. A great spot for a short break.

Place was spotless and really tastefully finished. Pool table and views were awesome.

The Learig cottage is a beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings and the location was ideal for us exploring the west of the country. The accomodation was fantastic, with everything clean and in great condition on arrival. The cottage had everything we needed for our stay and was a good size for us. We will be back and would highly recommend the cottage to others. Our host, Debbie, was also very proactive with clear instructions and well timed checkins to ensure everything was fine.

Lovely cottage with beautiful views to Mull and lots of walks nearby - we enjoyed exploring the lighthouse, Sanna, local cairns, and the ferry to Mull. The cottage is really well equiped, and lots of games for when the weather turns ... and a cracking wee hotel down the road for a drink or bite to eat. Our dog felt right at home too.

Super cottage, perfect for enabling a wonderful stay on Arran. Easy access to both the mainland and all that Arran affords. The cottage was full of character and charm and was perfect for us and our 2 dogs. It had everything we could possibly need, was extremely clean and well equipped.

We absolutely adored our stay here. It was very comfortable and cozy, felt like home instantly. Walking distance to a wonderful restaurant that had been recommended. Mairi met us and was very welcoming and showed us around the property. Great amenities, very accurate description of property given. Would recommend to anyone! Thank you for having us!

Have just spent a few days at Ashburn cottage & it was lovely. The cottage was very comfortable with everything you could need & had fabulous views of the loch & mountains. The weather was cold, crisp & sunny so was stunning, we did have a wee flurry of snow. Loved the log burner, so cosy!! Had a lovely meal at the Goil Inn & The Boat Shed cafe a definite for a visit! Will hope to be back again soon 👍

We felt very much at home in this cosy, lovingly decorated cottage. Every practical need was taken care of, the heating system worked perfectly. We liked our meals at the big kitchen table and the quaint staircase leading up to the bedroom and bathroom. Personally, I found it hard to sleep because the mattress was worn out and very uncomfortable

It was a treat staying at A Sean Tigh for the week. It was a good base for going out and about as plenty of places to visit and walk around in the area. Hosts are a professional young couple with family as well as running a Croft and were friendly, amiable and approachable. I will definitely being staying here in the future and have no qualms in recommending to others for a stay.

Beautiful cottage which has been really thoughtfully designed. For a family of four it was perfect and the scenery is beyond breathtaking.

Jane's cottage was exactly as described and immaculate - like a home from home. Easy to find, easy to park at. Great location for the many local attractions - we stayed a few days - we could have had a few weeks worth of things to see. Cottage is beautiful and in a perfect location for exploring locally or regionally. Beautiful, pristine accommodation with garden area and direct walking access to historical rock art sites and the canal. Thoughtfully chosen guide books available to help guests choose things to see. Lochgilphead close by with good takeaways (Argyll Cafe, Taj Mahal) , cafes (Salty Dog) and a CoOp open till 10pm. Really loved the cottage and the area, highly recommend.

Lovely stay in an outstanding cottage. Beautiful and stylish though cosy with a great view and a great kitchen which has everything you need. Very clean and spacious. We were unlucky with the weather but sitting next to the fireplace warmed us up nicely. We were welcomed very friendly and helpfull. We had a delicous dinner in Killberry and a beautifull hike near Ardpatrick. Would love to come back with friends!

A real gem of a cottage, spacious and cosy at the same time. Fabulous river at bottom of garden which kids can paddle/swim in. Great location in middle of island so everything accessible. Super comfortable beds and great tips in visitor book! Book this if your dates are available!!!

Of all the places I’ve stayed, Jacqui’s cottage will likely forever be my favorite. So much so that I could easily have abandoned my highland adventures everyday and just stayed home with a book in front of the fire. The cottage is so thoughtfully designed and stocked (with a bunch of personal touches like homemade jam and fresh eggs), in addition to being absolutely spotless and smelling like a dream. The woodlands around the property are an unreal level of peacefulness and as a solo female traveler, I appreciate show incredibly safe I always felt. Truly cannot wait to come back.

The cottage is in a beautiful location, with walking from the door and useful nearby amenities in Strachur. The space is well thought out and the garden and seating lovely to enjoy a cup of tea in the sunshine. The bed was lovely and comfy and the shower was great too! Well equipped kitchen for self catering, we also tried The Creggans Inn and had a lovely meal there especially the local seafood. Highlights for us were walking the Cowal way from the door toward Curran Lochain which makes a beautiful spot for a picnic and visiting Inverary and castle.

We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful cottage! We had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The views were absolutely stunning. It was the perfect escape for me and my 9-year-old daughter; we felt right at home from the moment we arrived. The cottage was cozy, clean, and just what we needed to unwind. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful retreat and very close to Loch Lomond.
