Cottage vacation rentals in Argyll and Bute Council

Flew in from Toronto, Canada to this beautiful home away from home. Barbara, Graeme (and Rosie) were extremely hospitable and welcoming hosts. The cottage has everything you need. Lovely, comfortable linens and beds, clean and modern bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and great and private hot tub. The location is very rural, but easy to find with google maps. The town of Kilburnie is close by with a grocery store, gas station and pharmacy among other amenities.

Just spent the weekend at this quaint and pristine cottage! It exceeded expectations. It had all the amenities that were listed including fresh cleaning supplies, smart TV, hairdryer, kitchen supplies, etc. Fresh and clean towels and linen provided. Hot tub was set up for us on arrival with a beautiful view over the loch and plenty of wood for both the hot tub and wood stove. Easy to follow directions for lighting both wood stoves. Would highly recommend to this beautiful location, will definitely be visiting again!

Just came back from Ayr and stayed in one of the beautiful cottages. We booked very last minute, and Claire was so accommodating. From the moment you walk in it just feels like home, it's absolutely stunning and has everything you will need. It was so clean and the decor was unreal, really private and the views were superb. We will definitely return, I can't tell how much we loved it!!. Exceptional stay!!!

This is the second visit for us it a wee hidden jem. We thought it could not get any better the exra personal touches spot on thought of everything. We enjoyed our stay very much. We had a fabulous stay at your gorgeous cosy house. We loved the festive theme, an ideal space to spend Xmas and New Year. Waking up to those stunning views was such a bonus and we made good use of the hot tub especially after doing the Hidden Heritage Trail which was stunning. We enjoyed seeing in the New Year and a meal at The Village Inn (literally a 2 minute walk away) with the Scottish piper adding to the festive atmosphere. Lovely and quite location is beautiful with the views had a good weekend only let down was the wee ferry over to Islay from Jura cancelled the 10:30 sailing so we had to wait until 14:00. I wouldn’t let that stop from visiting tho the place is lovely the locals are friendly and the island is beautiful

Lovely cottage with beautiful views to Mull and lots of walks nearby - we enjoyed exploring the lighthouse, Sanna, local cairns, and the ferry to Mull. The cottage is really well equiped, and lots of games for when the weather turns ... and a cracking wee hotel down the road for a drink or bite to eat. Our dog felt right at home too.

Have just spent a few days at Ashburn cottage & it was lovely. The cottage was very comfortable with everything you could need & had fabulous views of the loch & mountains. The weather was cold, crisp & sunny so was stunning, we did have a wee flurry of snow. Loved the log burner, so cosy!! Had a lovely meal at the Goil Inn & The Boat Shed cafe a definite for a visit! Will hope to be back again soon 👍

We felt very much at home in this cosy, lovingly decorated cottage. Every practical need was taken care of, the heating system worked perfectly. We liked our meals at the big kitchen table and the quaint staircase leading up to the bedroom and bathroom. Personally, I found it hard to sleep because the mattress was worn out and very uncomfortable

Had a great five nights at the cottage, set in a picturesque and peaceful location with our two daughters and two dogs. If you're looking for an escape from a busy life, allowing time to re-connect as a family and just enjoy the natural surroundings and beauty of the area then this place is perfect. We recommend visiting Inverary, and Lochgilphead is handy to have 20mins away for supplies. Thanks Gillian for letting us stay in your lovely cottage.

Excellent accommodation in the ideal position to explore Islay. The house was spotlessly clean, well maintained and very comfortable and warm.

Lovely cosy cottage in beautiful surroundings . So peaceful and quiet . We had everything we needed. Beds were really comfortable. Log burner was an added bonus. Fenced and secure garden was great for the dog . Nicola was very helpful and easy to reach as she lives next door, but we still felt we had privacy and were left to our own devices . Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to relax . Great walks from the door and nearby by car .

A beautiful cottage in a stunning location. Plenty of nice walks, fishing, good places to eat within walking distance. Perfect for what we needed, a relaxing peaceful Xmas getaway. Responsive and helpful hosts, would highly recommend and hope to stay again

Lovely stay in an outstanding cottage. Beautiful and stylish though cosy with a great view and a great kitchen which has everything you need. Very clean and spacious. We were unlucky with the weather but sitting next to the fireplace warmed us up nicely. We were welcomed very friendly and helpfull. We had a delicous dinner in Killberry and a beautifull hike near Ardpatrick. Would love to come back with friends!

A real gem of a cottage, spacious and cosy at the same time. Fabulous river at bottom of garden which kids can paddle/swim in. Great location in middle of island so everything accessible. Super comfortable beds and great tips in visitor book! Book this if your dates are available!!!

My husband and I stayed at lovely Arrivain Cottage for our first wedding anniversary and couldn’t have chosen a more peaceful and beautiful place! We have stayed in many Airbnb’s in many places but this was simply perfect. I am a clean-freak and the cottage was just spotless throughout. Jacqui and Jeff have put so much effort and attention into this beautiful place; all the thoughtful details make a world of difference: fresh flowers, the clear notes, all the staples stocked, breakfast and fresh eggs upon arrival - it was just above and beyond, thank you! Loved seeing the birds from their feeder each morning and the sun shining from the snow-capped mountain; the cosy fire at night. I don’t think we have had a better sleep anywhere! Thank you for making our stay so memorable - we will definitely be back ❤️

1st time staying at Islay Cottage, the cottage is very quaint set in beautiful surroundings with a waterfall not 1 minute down the road. The cottage was immaculate and well presented, our favourite bit was the log burner. We shall definitely be back again in the next couple of months.
