I had the most wonderful stay at The Bakehouse—so much so that a part of me wants to keep this little gem a secret! Nestled in the enchanting town of Berkhamsted, this cozy cottage quickly became my perfect hideaway, and I would absolutely love to return. From the moment I arrived, Jeremy’s kindness set the tone for my stay. On a rainy day, he went above and beyond by picking me up at the train station—a gesture that instantly made me feel welcome and at home. The Bakehouse is tucked behind their home just off the high street, yet it feels incredibly private, peaceful, and sheltered from any noise. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of Iris’s cottage in the movie The Holiday—a charming retreat with all the warmth and character you could wish for. The location is fantastic, with so much to explore nearby. Whether you’re planning a short getaway or a longer stay, I can’t recommend The Bakehouse highly enough. It’s a truly special place!

The Stables is a beautifully converted barn and was perfect for our stay. Sarah was friendly and responsive. Would recommend to anyone, and hope to come back at some point ourselves.

Ridgeway Lodge was perfect for our requirements and such a great place to stay. Beautifully decorated and everything had been thought of. Dave and Pam went above and beyond as hosts.

We really enjoyed our stay in Debbie's beautiful cottage situated in a charming village. Debbie kindly brought us some extra logs and kindling over so that we could enjoy the fire for longer.
