Earth house vacation rentals in Alajuela Province

This place is so cute and nice and comfortable, and the Monteverde area is truly lovely with so much to do - I just wish we had stayed longer!! Virgilio is a great communicator, and he had lots of good recommendations for the area that we did. The home is lovely and fun, and we enjoyed cooking our breakfasts at home and eating outside and watching the colorful birds. The kitchen has everything we needed, and the bed is soft, the water is hot, and the wifi is good. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again!

Juan Carlos did a great job with his place. I've never stayed in an eco-friendly house before and this was an unforgettable experience. I stayed in a glamping dome later in my trip and it was nothing compared to the love and care Juan Carlos put into his house. There's a book with artistic drawings from past renters that truly captures the essence of this property. Enjoy!

Highly recommend staying at Kris and Marie’s beautiful and peaceful home! They are so friendly and communicative and provided helpful recommendations. Their place is located in a quiet and serene setting close to nature and great restaurants. Looked forward to their delicious breakfast each morning and yoga with Marie was lovely.

The response time was amazing! We were able to book this airbnb ON THE SAME DAY within 2 hours of our arrival! The response time to the messages were all immediate and instructions and expectations were very clear and precise. The host was so kind and helpful! Everything was extremely clean and comfortable and all appliances worked well. Since there is no AC it was a bit stuffy inside so we ended up purchsing a standup fan for about 7500 colones ($15 USD) and it was well worth it. We would definitely stay again!

A true Airbnb experience! Ria hosts a couple of rooms in this beautiful house, so we had some fun conversations with her, her daughter, and other guests, making due in multiple languages. It was fun! We saw some scarlet macaws in the trees right outside our room. Breakfast was delicious. Local fruits sold down the road. The area was very peaceful and quiet. Hope to return someday!

We had an amazing stay in Fortuna! The location was perfect—an easy walk to town for great restaurants and just a short drive to incredible tours and adventure spots. The house was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and incredibly relaxing. We especially enjoyed the outdoor space, hot tub, and hammock, which made unwinding after a day of exploring even better. The host was fantastic—very responsive, provided clear instructions for check-in, and gave great recommendations for things to do. A highlight of our stay was the delicious breakfast delivered each morning, a thoughtful touch that made our experience even more special. Highly recommend this stay for anyone visiting the area!

Fantastic way to end the celebration of 40 years of marriage. The Hobbit House was just like Tolkien would have wanted it!!
