House vacation rentals in Whangārei Heads

We found the house easy to navigate and suitable for all ages. There was plenty of space inside to relax, even on windy or rainy days. We especially enjoyed sitting in the window seat and on the deck, soaking in the beautiful view of the sand dunes.

Absolutely fantastic spot to escape to. We took everything we needed food wise so we wouldn't have to leave and just settled in for the weekend. Beautiful spot, and the best set up kitchen I've found in an Air BnB. We are foodies and we were thrilled to be able to cook such full meals while on holiday and to have everything we needed there. Particularly having the induction hob was brilliant. Perfectly peaceful and very comfortable amenities. Clear instructions for everything. The extra addition of having a backup generator was actually wonderful (not that we needed it) but because it was great to know it was there should we need it. Everything was clearly very well thought out and it was the perfect space for the birthday weekend we wanted. Thanks for an amazing stay.

My boys loved the warm pool, and the playground at the park next door. The cabin was tidy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Nicks home the Pool House is beautiful! If you are thinking about staying here, do so. Kitchen had everything we needed for you to easily cook, 2 bathroom, 4 bedrooms ample room for everyone and lovely outdoor area with fireplace & pool. Nick is a great host, made sure we got in ok and throughout the stay - would higly recommend Nicks place

The highlight for me was definitely the spa pool - the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Our family really enjoyed this stay! We loved the layout of the home, having the sleep out allowed the kids to have their own space and we weren’t feeling like we were all on top of each other. The pool isn’t massive but enough for everyone to cool down. The distance to the shops is so close which was super handy for grocery top ups or ice cream runs. As it’s on the main road it is noisy in the front room and impacts getting in and out of the drive - but not an issue for us but worth noting. The host was super responsive as we were 30mins early. Will def be back to stay!

Stephen is a great host. He is well organized with the pre arrival information. The property is extremely well located with easy access to the beach and local amenities. The separate guest house was ideal as we had an 8mth old baby with us so they were able to have there own space and not be worried about baby waking the whole family.

Loved Jessica and her amazing part of paradise! We booked very last minute after some issues with another property on AirBNB, and were extremely happy as it was clean and bright, and has an amazing view. Very well equipped property with everything we needed. We will hopefully be back and would recommend to anyone. Thanks Jessica especially with helping my daughter with her jewellery that she left behind.

We loved our stay!! A perfect classic kiwi bach experience in Pataua South. It is kitted out with everything you could need for a trip away, and the location can’t be beaten. Views of the water from the whole house, great estuary swims, walking distance to nice beaches. Plus Lyndsay and Morris were wonderful hosts. Will definitely be back!!

Cathy’s place is perfect! It’s super spacious and comfortable with high-quality finishing and furnishings - you can tell she’s put a lot of effort into making it welcoming and special for her guests. It’s the most well-equipped place I’ve stayed at - everything from spices and several different forms of coffee through to washing powder, table tennis and beach chairs are all ready and waiting. Waipu is a great town and Cathy’s place makes it even better. We’d love to come back and will recommend it to friends!

This place suited our needs for a week in Whangarei near our relatives. The three of us felt welcome with basic essentials provided: we were comfortably housed and could cook for ourselves. Adriana and Michael provided detailed information and were quick to respond to questions. We would use their place again.

We loved our stay in this beautiful home. The owners have done a phenomenal job of establishing the perfect base from which to enjoy a relaxing beach holiday. Donna was super helpful and responsive all the way through from booking, through to info on checking in, and letting us know about local info that applied during our stay. The location is fabulous, a 5 minute easy walk to the patrolled beach, and 5 mins the other way to a local dairy for day-to-day needs. Spending time at the property is also amazing, plenty of space for the whānau to spread out - a large yard for the kids to play in, the fully covered deck serves as an additional living space regardless of weather. The house is warm and cozy. And the caravans are tidy and clean and are the perfect additional bedrooms for the extended family. The neighbourhood is quiet, and the neighbours are friendly. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a home away from home, look no further! 10/10 - highly recommend.

The other reviews are spot on - Wonderful place Kay has. The dipping spot was delightful and we swam with New Zealand eels (friendly). The property is large and full of surprises. Loved the food garden too. Kay lets you recharge your electric car for free so that was nice too. Kitchen is very well stocked with oil, spices, great pots/pans,…. Mimiwhangatata beach (15km away on a dirt road) is definitely one of the nicest beaches in New Zealand, white sand, good swimming and snorkeling. The 4km hike there is just gorgeous. The local beach (Mimiha) is one 12 minute walk away (also very nice) though Russel Rd has a lot of cars so probably best to drive. Nearest dairy is in oakura (14km away) so shop before you come. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to come again.

Beautiful, clean home in a peaceful, tranquil setting. Central to everything we needed and perfect for work with fast, reliable internet. The host was lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Home away from home. Lovely surroundings, set off the road & private. Good sized bedrooms, big bathroom and separate toilet, spacious kitchen & great indoor outdoor flow. Kitchen had everything we needed, large fridge etc. Our kids also enjoyed having the area in front of the garage to bounce the Basketball. The place looks better than the photos.

Such a wonderful, peaceful escape from the city. Lovely open plan space with bifold doors looking out to the deck and stunning landscape. Cows, chickens and Guinea pigs right next to the backyard which was a huge bonus for our daughter! Very friendly and responsive host - thank you!!
