Guesthouse vacation rentals in West Dorset District

Darren and Wing were very helpful with messaging ahead of my arrival, and were happy to accommmodate me to check in early. They also made sure the annex was kept nice and warm, as the weather was cold during my stay. The annex is in a very quiet location, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. Everything was very good for a short stay.

The kids and I had the best time! Having the sea and beach on our doorstep was incredible. Fossil hunting, fishing, walks, amusements, great food and a very cute little cabin to call our home for 3 days. Waking up and seeing the sea every morning was the icing on the cake. Thank you Neil & Sarah for letting us enjoy some of the magic. We very much hope to be back soon.

We had a fantastic time staying at James and Emma’s. Whilst the location is tucked away off the normal path, their clear instructions made it easy to find. Their restaurant recommendations were also great and meant we found some real gems that we wouldn’t have otherwise known about. We would love to stay again if we were ever back in the area.

We went to Broad chalk for an evening away to do some long distance running around the countryside. The village is wonderful and the walks and runs in the surrounding area are challenging with spectacular landscape and really good trails. The village had a brilliant pub and community shop and coffee shop/cafe. Our stay was very enjoyable and the room was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen had a really good amenities and the bed was extremely comfortable, and the bathroom had a lovely hot shower after a long run! Beautiful garden.

Had a lovely two nights at the Apple Barn. Jocelyn was so friendly and helpful, and the location was brilliant, very central to Bruton. We had everything we could need and really appreciated the little touches like being left some home made cookies, bread and milk. Thanks so much Jocelyn for a wonderful stay

Fiona was so welcoming from the start all the way through. Very responsive with any questions I had and made sure I was comfortable.

What a gem! A really lovely cabin, very well appointed, private, spotlessly clean! Mariska is a fabulous host. The cabin is situated in hosts grounds, but completely private. So very peaceful and only a 10 min walk to amenities. local bus route close by, plus train at new milton, so easy to explore new forest. Great holiday. Thank you Mariska. Highly recommended.

This place was just perfect for our anniversary! Was just at the photos and as described. It was spotless! Cassie was attentive and friendly also. The surroundings were also just so beautiful and had everything we needed in walking distance! Thank you for the stay will de be returning! X

Was perfect for a Valentines getaway! We are so grateful to Sam and Adrian for extending their hospitality, they truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and to make sure we had plenty of information about the surrounding area! We have to give our thanks also to William who provided lots of snacks and drinks through his tuck shop :) The barn itself was cosy yet spacious, the bed was super comfortable and water pressure in the shower was decent. The kitchen was fully-equipped for us to make a beef wellington on Valentines night!! Even the temperatures were near freezing - that didn’t stop us from taking full advantage of the fire place out on the patio! Overall we had a wonderful stay and would love to come and stay again! Alaister provided an extremely detailed guidebook for the cabin which included full instructions for everything. The cabin is very well thought out in its design so it does not feel at all cramped, just really comfortable. Everything we needed was provided - toiletries, washing up equipment, bin bags, sliders, dressing gowns and even tea & biscuits! The garden and surrounding forest were beautiful, the sky at night was so clear and the temperature of the hot tub meant that we were able to enjoy relaxing and stargazing in the bubbles even though it was February! We enjoyed a lovely meal at the local pub/restaurant at the end of the lane and it was great to be able to stroll back after a couple of glasses of wine (just remember your torch!) We had a really refreshing, rejuvenating stay here and highly recommend this place to anyone needing to ‘get away from it all’ as it is peaceful and private with awesome facilities.

The Potting Shed suited us well. It’s location is up a country lane, not too far from the main road. There are many places of interest within driving distance, though watch out for some of the lanes. The house is comfortable and warm. There are enough facilities for a short stay. Tamzin is very responsive and answers all questions immediately.

this is a high end property Tastefully decorated with some art by Shelley herself, comfortable bed and sofa, spotlessly clean, bight and airy nice little extra touches like a clothes horse to dry wet towels ideal! well thought out. Thank you!

We had a lovely long weekend at Robin’s Nest which was cosy and comfortable. Bath city centre was only a 20 minute walk away, although a bit hilly in places, yet where we stayed was beautifully peaceful & out of the hustle & bustle. Amy, who looked after us during our stay, was extremely helpful & proactive with information & tips. The added extras on arrival were a lovely little treat, thank you.

An absolutely fantastic stay! The place is beautiful and so clean. It had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub was amazing and had just the right amount privacy. The added bonus was having the bus stop at the end of the lane meant that we visited Bath in the day with ease (buses run every 10-15 minutes). Couldn’t fault the stay! Would definitely recommend: I look forward to revisiting at some point!

Just returned home from a couple of nights at Claire’s place . We had a great stay , lovely location for us as visiting family in the area . Fantastic pub a stones throw from it , recommend booking as it was busy . The place was beautifully clean lovely comfy bed and everything and more we could have wanted for a couple of nights . It is next door to Claire’s house but we felt very private but nice knowing they were close if we needed anything . Great communication from Claire , earlier check in and a later check out . Thanks Claire for a lovely stay 🥰

Fabulous, comfortable well equipped home from home situated right in the New Forest with a gate leading straight onto the heath. Really well equipped and very spacious. Really looking forward to returning.

Adam and I had a lovely weekend at the Lazy Lodge. The lodge is very spacious yet feels really cosy and has everything you need, both inside (particularly the hot tub!) and in the nearby area. Mark was super friendly on our arrival and gave some great recommendations for places to go. We would definitely recommend as a place to stay 😊

Spent a lovely few days here, lovely hosts. Very cosy getaway, clean well equipped and great water pressure/heating. Couldnt ask for anything more. Great for walks to the Tor and Chalice well and an easy walk to town. Will be back again.

A delightful and cosy studio in a private setting. Beautifully peaceful and my dog loved the forest walks nearby. It's a short drive to many lovely pubs. The bed and sofa bed were both comfy and the studio was warm. Loved the little personal welcome gift touches! Only a short one night stay but will definitely love to come back!
