Cottage vacation rentals in Turnberry

Flew in from Toronto, Canada to this beautiful home away from home. Barbara, Graeme (and Rosie) were extremely hospitable and welcoming hosts. The cottage has everything you need. Lovely, comfortable linens and beds, clean and modern bathrooms, fully stocked kitchen, and great and private hot tub. The location is very rural, but easy to find with google maps. The town of Kilburnie is close by with a grocery store, gas station and pharmacy among other amenities.

Having holidayed in Sorn all of my life as my father was from there I knew what to expect but the beauty of the place still takes my breath away. The cottage is cosy and very picturesque. The beds are comfortable and the linen of high quality. We were greeted with not only a bottle of Prosecco but also some fresh milk and eggs from the local farm which was gratefully received after a long drive. It’s so lovely and peaceful to be by the river and hear it when you are laying in bed. We liked it so much we are going back in May!

We had a lovely stay with our 3 dogs at heron view, we enjoyed the spacious living area and comfortable beds. The utility space was a great nook for the dogs if they were wet from walking. Lovely local pub (the Masonic) with friendly people and bar staff. The hot tub was a massive bonus! Thanks Donald We will be back!

Lovely place. Accurate pictures, though when you get there it feels even nicer than photos can show. Very friendly and responsive. Sometimes it can be quite a vulnerable experience travelling as an LGBTQIA+ couple, but here we felt welcome and safe. Hope to visit again with friends and family.

Fantastic Airbnb. More spacious inside than it looked from the photos. Loads of space for us 7 adults and 3 kids and great to have the table in the kitchen as well as the open dining living space. Finished to a very high standard, with great quality bed linens, towels and soaps too. The outside space is amazing with the pond across the way and lovely surroundings for walks and wildlife nearby. We didn't meet the hosts but were always helpful and responsive to messages and requests. One of the best Airbnbs we have stayed in. Highly recommended.

Stayed for 3 nights at the cottage, amazing location with lots of walking available from the house itself. Hot tub was wonderful and dean had left tonnes of leaflets and recommendations of places to visit and eat. Would definitely recommend and will likely come and stay again!!

Lynne is very friendly, the cottage is clean, tidy, warm and comfortable. The farm dog is super friendly too, we had a nice little visit from him. Only disappointment was the bathroom as it was cold and the shower pressure is not great. Beautiful area to visit with loads of places to explore. I would definitely return as i enjoued getting away from citylife

What a beautiful place. As a family(2 children aged 8 and 10 years old and 2 dogs) it was the perfect holiday home. Lovely decorated and everything you need to have a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the walks on the estate. You can experience a lot of things ( beautiful gardens I.e Castle Kennedy, mountain biking at Kirroughtree) it was a great and unforgettable family holiday. We had a great stay at Sue’s place! It was all clean and felt like a home away from home - perfect for us and our two Goldens. Sue is so lovely - we had a few issues with our ferry and she help us out so much, so in the end it all worked out! Thank you again!

I would like to thank Alexandra and Pass The Key’s for our wonderful stay. The cottage was out of a fairy tale. The views are incredible and breathtaking. The entire cottage was spotless. All of the bedding sets were extremely clean. We had no issues with the property. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to take a break from the internet connection and the day to day responsibilities. We are already looking at different dates to come back next year! Excellent modern cottage on the outskirts of Gatehouse of Fleet, in the hills up to Galloway forest. A great retreat for quietness and to get away from it all. The hosts are excellent, this being on a farm it was nice to see the animals. Would love to be back someday. Enjoyed having 7 days of sun sitting on that patio.

We had an amazing stay at this lovely cottage! It was immaculately clean and incredibly cosy, making us feel at home right away. Chris greeted us warmly upon arrival and even surprised us with freshly baked scones – such a thoughtful touch! The location was fantastic, with plenty of beautiful walks nearby to explore. Our dog loved the enclosed outdoor area, which gave us peace of mind while letting him roam safely. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

4 night stay over Christmas. Really peaceful and relaxing as we wanted, left to our own devices but Arlene was contactable if needed. The cottage was lovely and warm, log burner was available but wasn't needed as heating does a great job. We cooked a xmas dinner and had everything required for that so kitchen is well supplied! Sofa and bed really comfy, lovely shower. Dog also had a great time with ample grass right outside for necessities. Lots of peaceful walks and parks to visit nearby - recommend Murray's monument, birthplace, wild goat park, red deer park. Also visited Stranraer for a Christmas day parkrun! The village is lovely and quiet, everyone you do see is very friendly. Very short drive to lovely beaches at Port William.

Thanks for having us in your lovely cottage. The photos really don’t do the place justice. Debbie is very communicative and gave clear instructions. We felt comfortable and very welcome with sweets and fresh eggs on arrival. It was great to meet the puppies and baby cows. Regret not staying longer to fully enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

Had a great, relaxing four days. House was easy to find and had everything you would want and more. From fresh fruit and flowers to milk in the fridge. House was lovely and warm on arrival too which was great on a cold wet day. Kitchen was so well stocked. Large casserole dishes to slow cookers all in there. No shortage of glasses or utensils which at times can happen at rentals. Plenty of clean fresh towels in every bedroom and bathroom. We had our dog with us and he wasn’t missed either with a nice pack of treats. Well kept garden and a big open space for the kids to run around in also. Only small thing was you had to drive out for walks as the house is not on a route and has no pavements to walk out on. Strathaven itself has enough to keep you busy and has some nice little cafes and bakers! Just a great place to get away to. Yvonne was brilliant and so responsive. Kindly dropped Halloween baskets off for the kids too. Loved it! Neil

Loved our stay here. Property is well laid out with great amenities. Really clear instructions on how to get there as it's a bit off the main road. Beautiful location.

Couldn’t have wished for anything better. Suited our needs perfectly. Cottage was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The welcome pack was an unexpected, but excellent addition. Thank you to Anne for providing us with excellent accommodation. And answering any questions we had, in a prompt and friendly manner. Would definitely stay again if we’re back in the area.

We had a great stay at this gorgeous cottage in a beautiful setting. Bea is a fantastic host and was on hand for anything we needed. The local pub, The Kirkmichael Arms, is excellent and well worth a visit - the bar is friendly and welcoming while the restaurant serves a tremendous range of food of very high quality. The community run church-cafe is also very warm and welcoming and sells a wide range of goods. We will be returning to the area often.

We had a lovely stay for three nights, the house is beautiful and it has everything we could have needed and more. The back garden was fab for the dogs as fully enclosed, it was also a lovely space and would be great in the nice weather. Andrea was really friendly and helpful, even offering us flexibility with check in and departure times. Would definitely stay again!

We had a lovely time at this beautiful seaside cottage - couldn’t be any nearer the sea if we tried! Fab views. We really appreciated the homemade ginger cake and milk on arrival. A lovely touch. A great escape from city life, so peaceful. We would love to return. Thank you 😊
