Cottage vacation rentals in Tasman

River Road Retreat was a delight to stay at, and Peter and Rebecca lovely hosts. The cottage is beautiful, clean and in a gorgeous setting surrounded by fields, and with stunning views to the hills in the distance. We loved the welcome bottle of wine and yummy nibbles, as well as the delicious breakfast served every morning. The air is fresh and clean, the water absolutely pure, and after three days we’ve returned home refreshed and reenergised. Wonderful!! Big thanks from us!!!

Amazing place to stay especially after the Heaphy track. LOVED the outdoor bath and bath salts ( thanks Julia) Tastefully decorated, very comfortable. Great to have a washing machine. Loved the home touches eg eggs and home made jam and relish. 5 star plus plus plus.

Great instructions to find the cottage, would have been easy to get lost without them. Awesome that the hottub was ready for me to use upon arrive. great place to stay.

Peaceful rural location, sunny aspect and beautiful Ōparapara river nearby. Liana has a very welcoming touch and l loved the “weka gates” for the doorways so they could be open and the wekas stay out!! I would love to come back. A special spot.

Would have loved to stay longer. Ruru Cottage was just beautiful, the gardens, the stream, the hot tub, comfy beds, very well equipped kitchen. Great location close to Abel Tasman National Park, the Spit, Golden Bay. Would highly recommend to anyone staying or visiting the area.

Kate gave very clear instructions so we were able to arrive safely and were able to find the place easily as we had a long drive and arrived quite late. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming despite our late arrival the night before. Additional plus were the awesome welcome given to us by their pet dogs, Chloe and Amber!

This is a very special place, I wish I could have stayed longer. The house is incredibly cosy and atmospheric, and we felt so spoilt with the great breakfast. This is a true getaway whilst everything you'd like to do and see in the region is close by. Highly recommended!

We had a beautiful second stay at the sandcastle. Loved the peaceful setting, birds and animals on the property. Pizza night was fabulous and Steve was incredibly gracious with our two boys and even took them blueberry picking. Thank you for taking extra care and checking in to ensure our stay was so special. Our boys said this was their favorite place we’ve stayed yet!

Our stay at Yvette's tiny home was truly a memorable experience! The space, while cozy by American standards, was perfectly laid out, modern, and impeccably clean – ideal for our group of three. The deck offered an absolutely AMAZING view, providing a private and peaceful retreat. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly meeting Yvette and her husband, Ross. We spent a delightful afternoon down by the pond, and instantly felt like we were catching up with old friends. Their warmth and hospitality were exceptional. The property itself is a little slice of paradise, offering the perfect balance of privacy and connection. You can easily enjoy the stunning view from your deck, or take a short stroll down to the pond for a truly serene experience. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful day exploring wine country. We highly recommend Yvette's place for anyone looking for a unique and heartwarming getaway!

Beautiful place with a lovely garden and pond out the back. Deborah was there to welcome us and kindly gave the kids some toys to play with which were greatly appreciated! Lovely comfortable house, would highly recommend as a base to explore Abel Tasman and beyond.

Anna was great to deal with, from communication before we arrived to the fresh fruit and eggs. It was a great place to stay in a beautiful setting. Just wish we had longer to stay and would definitely stay again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bay Cottage. The cottage had everything we needed. Nestled in a beautiful orchard, it is idyllic rural NZ. It was an excellent base from which to visit the restaurants in Takaka (we tried and found O’Sha and Dangerous Kitchen to be very tasty). It was 30 minutes from Wainui Inlet, from which we were able to explore Totranui, swim at Anapai Bay, scramble to Separation Point (watch the seals) and visit the quaint Whariwharangi Hut. Thank you Christine and Dave for a great location for a weekend tramp.

Highly recommend for a tranquill location with a lovely swimming pool. Easy access to great beach on Rabbit Island and good eateries at Mapua Wharf.

We had a great time in Mapua. John and Kim were absolutely lovely and gave us very good recommendations for activities. For example we could use their bikes to go to Rabbit Island. We also had fun using their canoe. The wharf with bars and restaurants is only a short walk from the house. We would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay at a wonderful place! The best hosts you could ask for. The place is so well taken care of, spotless clean and you have everything you could ask for. As a family, we especially appreciated the many many toys, beach toys, high chair and books provided on top of all the essentials needed for a great stay. We are super thankful for all the time the hosts spent on talking to us and letting our children help with the animals, investing so much time letting them help out! The location is great for hikes in Abel Tasman and we woke up to stunning views every day. It has been the best Airbnb experience for us in NZ!
