Vacation rentals with a kayak in Taranaki

Excellent, very quiet place, very friendly host. Lots of space and really good mattresses. We enjoyed our time there. Really good "value for money", thanks.

Absolutely loved my stay here. It was very stormy weather but so peaceful and comfortable inside! I loved sitting and watching the clouds swirl around Mt Taranaki and drinking coffee in the morning (loved the Breville espresso machine - just like mine at home!) and watching the sun peak through the clouds. Also, the decor of the home is just stunning! Every single little detail is mid century perfection! And the afghan cookies left by the hosts were delicious. Oh also seeing the sheep wandering around too… so cool! Absolutely loved it here and would highly recommend it, even if the weather isn’t great! It’s cozy for just sitting and relaxing, or there’s so many board games and things to do too! Thanks for hosting me in your little haven!!!

It was so good to visit again after staying previously a few years ago, and enjoyed the extended space & upgrades to the bathrooms. It is such a good location with amazing views of the coast. Thanks for a great stay.

Great stay had everything we needed

Great spot with an amazing view. Was so good to be able to bring our dogs, the property was a really good size and fully fenced. The deck and covered outdoor area was really nice, a great spot to chill and relax. Definitely recommend!

Home away from home only better! Beautiful surroundings, gardens, incredible collection of house plants, art, vintage decor, thoughtful touches, seriously we felt like we were with family of our own here. Right next to the beach, entire home to ourselves, yes, you can hear once in awhile that someone is above you, but rarely and it actually felt comforting to know if you needed anything, Lisa is right there to help. Lisa is the most organized Superhost we’ve encountered, her guest book is filled with wonderful instructions and recommendations. Don’t miss eating at Black Sand Pizza a short walk away with top notch bistro food and a view of the beach that mesmerizes you. A short drive into New Plymouth that is filled with so much to do we have to come back again. Mt. Taranaki plays peekaboo with the clouds, but we managed to get a stunning view one day out of four. Even if you just stayed in Ōakura for the beach it’s well worth it! Highly recommend to couples, friends, and families.

We had a wonderful stay at this well decorated, peaceful home just minutes from downtown New Plymouth. The place was spotless, well-appointed, and incredibly comfortable—everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The setting was beautiful and quiet, making it the perfect retreat after exploring Mt. Taranaki and the city. We only had one disappointment: despite the lovely grass field on the property, Wimbledon never showed up for a match! Maybe next time. LOL Would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

The walking group, comprising 12 women, had the most amazing three days at Sophie’s. It was everything, and more, we’d hoped for. Highly recommended!
