Great spot to stay last minute for one night when we arrived into Costa Rica. Nice location and easy to walk to Playa Negro. The place was very cute, neat and tidy and had what we needed to make use of the kitchen too. Easy and quick enough to walk to and from town, even after dark was fine with the sidewalk.

The home is an adventure!! If you love the outdoors, it is a perfect place for you. It was different and kinda refreshing to have the living room, dining room and kitchen all outdoors. I've never stayed in a property like this. Very unique! Even during rainstorms, it was cool! We all got great naps there! Ana the onsite housekeeper is worth her weight in GOLD. She was very helpful, attentive and courteous!

it is a very quiet place to be, the only thing is that you have to leave the room to go to the bathroom, but for the privacy you have and the location is forgiven this situation, excellent place and host!!!

Casa marina was a lovely home for us. Fernando and crew took good care of us, and was extremely welcoming. The view of the forest is wonderful, and makes it a bonus to be on the side of the road. We heard howler monkeys and saw gorgeous butterflies. Sitting in that hammock and talking it all in: fantastic. We were here over new years, when the beach car traffic was extreme — standing cars for hours — so it particularly great to be 12 min walk to the closest beach (Arrecife). Our favourite beach was Playa Grande, about 15 min walk (or 4min drive). If you’re looking for calmer waters to swim or snorkel, go to Playa Uva, which is about the same distance towards town. Overall great stay!

We loved our stay at Jayr's place, it was exactly what we were looking for during our weekend getaway! I appreciated the clear instructions and the private pool... the privacy and lots of trees and bushes made it even more private and comfortable. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Puerto Viejo!

rustic, very nice, very quiet ! Close but far away !

2nd time here and this is probably my favorite housing in Puerto Viejo. It’s surrounded by nature, very private, peaceful and beautiful. The houses are fully equipped and always clean. This place is great for families or groups of friends.

This was such a cool place. We traveled with 9 family members and this place had separate rooms with more than enough beds. The location was pretty easy to walk around town. I would definitely stay here again.

I think everything is brand new. Very clean, very tasteful in a beautifully landscaped walled in property. It is surrounded by banana plantations and we heard howler monkeys ( my favorite) every day.

We enjoyed 3 nights at this perfect cozy retreat. Super clean and comfortable. Lush garden space with a refreshing plunge pool. Easy walking to the beach and well- located for shopping and dining. Honestly, I would give the hot/cold outdoor shower five stars alone. One of my favorite outdoor showers ever. We cooked a couple meals and had everything we needed. Perfect for a couple or two close friends. Cheers!

Papi's Place was great for our family. Car rentals during this season is untouchable ($150) per day! However, Uber from the house to town and Tut-Tut's back to the house works great and very inexpensive. The house was equipped with majority of everything from home. The fan was a plus while relaxing by the pool. If you plan on cooking meals, the only downside is pots and pans are very limited but that did not interfere with us enjoying our stay. It was awesome!!!

If you are searching for the perfect vacation home for your trip to Puerto Viejo, stop looking and just book this one. Everything about the house is perfect! Its proximity to Playa Negra is exceptional. A very quick (and beautiful!) walk and you are at the beach, and it's a stunner. Also very few people, at least during our stay. You are basically sleeping in the jungle but right next to the beach and only minutes from downtown Puerto Viejo. A few more minutes and you are in Punta Uva, Manzanillo, and Cahuita; we loved them all - but Casa Masha was our favorite part about our stay in Puerto Viejo. The bedrooms are perfect: spacious, clean, and stylish - but our favorite part was the open, airy, and expansive upstairs. With beautiful views and so many places to relax with the jungle breeze and birds, it was an amazing place for my wife, son, and I to spend time together. The pool was a great place to relax as well. Mariana is an amazing host - super responsive and helpful! Book it!

Stop scrolling! This is the spot If you want to be centrally located but away from all the craziness in your own little Oasis, this is it! Beautiful home surrounded by nature everywhere you look. You wake up to the sounds of birds singing and go to sleep to the sound of the wind dancing with the palm trees around you. It is fully stocked with all the amenities you can possibly need during your stay, beautiful lighting around the deck and the most refreshing pool ever. But what is a cool place without a good host right? Well, no worries here, Dennis will go above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic time. He was super attentive, responsive and kind. Also Had the pleasure of meeting Ms Rose (his mom) at check in and check out and she was the sweetest. Even offered for us to visit their family farm one of the days since our beach plans had to cancel due to rain . Just a beautiful hearted person. Thank you so much for all your hospitality . We will sure be back ! Pura vida ❤️

Had an amazing experience staying at the container's house!! The space was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The host was incredibly welcoming and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a smooth stay. The location was perfect! What a great place and a great hostess. Had all the amenities we needed and we made a few meals a home. We stayed a week and Erinn organized a mid week clean, which was great. The place was idyllic with lovely gardens, plenty of hot water and wash facilities. Having separate rooms at the end allowed the teenagers their space too. Finally a great thanks to Erinn, she booked restaurant for us the first night, answered all our questions - got us in touch with an excellent guide Juanito. Was there when we needed and not when we didn't thank you Erinn. We went surfing, snorkeling, trekking to a waterfall for swimming and did a round with the local tribes to learn about their culture and chocolate making. We had a fantastic week. If we ever come back to Costa Rica we will be back here. Andrea

Our stay at Casa Mariposa was wonderful. The atmosphere is relaxing and cozy, perfect for unwinding. From the start, Rikki proved to be an exceptional host: her recommendations were incredibly helpful, and we loved that they were compiled in a handy little booklet. Her positive energy is felt in every corner of the place. Despite the water supply issues affecting the entire town, Rikki was always attentive and ready to help, making us feel well taken care of at all times. Additionally, thoughtful details like hot water and a box with useful items (flashlights, rain ponchos, and an umbrella) made our experience even more comfortable. Having access to bicycles was a great bonus for exploring the area. Casa Mariposa’s location is ideal: far enough from the town center to enjoy peace and quiet, yet close enough to walk everywhere. We highly recommend this place. Thank you, Rikki, for making our visit an unforgettable experience!

This place was just as pictured. Beautiful landscaping with lots of privacy and peace. We also saw monkeys and sloths in nearby trees. It’s close to the main road and accessible on foot or by bike. When there’s no traffic, it’s a 10 minute drive into town where there are plenty of restaurants, shops and beaches. There’s also a Colombian restaurant right across the road run by a lovely woman with delicious arepas and empanadas. The house was clean and very well stocked. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to cook. We stayed for 2 weeks and they visited to clean, empty the trash, and refresh our sheets and towels twice. Patry was very quick, responsive and helpful throughout our time. There are also guides with laundry and bike rental information in the room for your convenience. On rainy days, there space for all 3 of us to lounge comfortably. On warm days, the pool was perfect. Very happy with our stay and would definitely return.

Our stay at Maya's Airbnb was just amazing! We really enjoyed our time there. Maya was always available, responded immediately and helped with every question or challenge. She is a great host! The place was clean, quiet and had a pleasant atmosphere. I would highly recommend this Airbnb!
