House vacation rentals in Surry County

We LOVED staying in Eli's home. Our son got married this weekend, and we chose his home due to the location and the amenities if offered. It was more beautiful than we imagined! Big wrap around porch, beautiful yard, hot tub, screened in porch, a big screen TV in the living room, and comfortable beds. We felt very much at home and would recommend it to anyone looking for a home to rent in this area.

We stayed here for a long weekend getaway with our two dogs. It was rainy most our of stay so we didn't get to enjoy the outdoor spaces that Kumi has but did appreciate the large yard for our dogs to be walked in. It was a super convenient location, close to downtown Winston-Salem and surrounding areas, and everything we wanted was within ~10 minute drive. Kumi was very quick to respond, gave clear instructions for entering the property, and even shared a dinner recommendation with us.

If you're looking for views from heaven this is the place! Its breathtaking. Spacious, quiet, and picturesque. House is nestled between neighbors and you'd never know. Wildlife and wilderness meets quaint neighborhood... but at a golf resort. Only downfall is if you dont get groceries prior to arrival,you're out of luck during winter since your on the top of the mountain. Its about 20 to 30min down either direction for them (I shopped on the way in). Things to do are also sparse at this time of year. But, that wasn't the point for our trip, it was to "disappear" for a few days. Bryan was an awesome host. He kept intouch throughout the entire process. I had to make adjustments to my initial occupancy number and cut our trip short a day due to weather related precautions. He was accommodating for each request. Couldn't have had a better host. He invited us back and also made us aware he had other properties on the same resort. All around pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Sarah’s place was clean, cute, and a good location to everything we wanted to do. Right down the road from gas stations, restaurants, and grocery stores. The little backyard was a cute sitting space and she was so friendly and laid everything out clearly. I would definitely recommend for a quiet and comfortable stay in Winston!

Kay was awesome. The place was clean and up to date. the fireplace was awesome as was the arcade. It was very restful during a very difficult trip.

Just the place & environment I need to re-energize my writing and art. Felt stuck lately…..This renewed my sense of being a valued author and artist. Ashley count not of being a better communicator…she was friendly and on the ball. The townhouse was immaculate, the decor full of literature and art. Super area…close to restaurants and top line grocery stores. Thank you Ashley.

This house was wonderful! We went wanting a relaxing mountain getaway and that’s exactly what we got! Speaking as someone who’s 6 months pregnant the house was so comfortable, the beds, sheets, and pillows were the best! No house issues the entire stay. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views. There was plenty of space for everyone ( 3 couples) and I love how each room has its own bathroom space. The kitchen is fully equipped/ functional which we used for several meals during our stay. We enjoyed the board and card games the host provided each night. While we didn’t eat out locally, we did travel to Mayberry for the day and had a great experience. Definitely recommend staying here!!

This couldn't be more private or peaceful...the grounds are beautiful with trees, flowers, two fountains, so many places to sit and relax and then you have a pool and hot tub. A beautiful area to dine outside with a grill. Our dogs loved exploring the yard. Stefi offers many ideas on places to visit and to eat, which was so helpful. We will definitely book with Stefi again.

Our stay at Granny’s House was wonderful! The house was warm and cozy, and in a great location convenient to nearby restaurants. Only a short drive to the restaurants/stores/brewery downtown…. We loved The Angry Troll. The kitchen was well stocked with coffee, snacks, drinks, etc which was so convenient for our weekend stay. The king bed was super comfy and although the home is on the main road, the provided sound machine drowned out the street noise. It rained the entire weekend, so we didn’t get to use the outdoor fire pit, but it was a very neat space with wood provided (we plan to return during warmer weather to enjoy the beautiful outdoor space:-) Dana was a pleasure to communicate with and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay!

If you want a nice spot not too far from town, this is the place. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings. Thank you for hosting us!

I cannot say enough great things about how amazing the Bear Den and the host Mary were !! I have stayed at many Airbnb’s while traveling but this was by far the BEST I have EVER encountered. The home was absolutely precious not to mention spotless and organized with any and everything you needed. She thought of it all. The beds were extremely comfortable which was a big plus. Mary was so kind and very responsive to any questions we had about the area. This was a girls weekend trip for relaxation and that is exactly what we got!!We will definitely be back soon !! Very unique property, what a treat to stay on a farm with cows and goats right outside the window. The house is very cozy and comfortable. Location is excellent, close to both Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock state parks which have great hiking trails, and also Mt Airy which is special place to visit. You can't go wrong here.

This was our first time in Mt. Airy so we had no idea where to stay. Thank goodness we came across Dennis and Ben's place. We absolutely loved our stay! It looked exactly as it did in the pictures. My wife loved the character of this warming, and comfortable home. We also loved the fireplace in the dining area, and the big dining room table. The bedrooms were very spacious, and the temperature in the home was perfect! The only thing my wife complained about was leaving to go home! We had breakfast every morning, and enjoyed the kitchen. We sent a text about a few things, and the host responded promptly and dropped off what was needed! So we will be back, and if you need a place that's nice, clean, convenient, this is your place! Thank you both for a great stay!

Carina's place was a great place to relax. We were in town for a wedding and family gathering. It is very easy to get to and close to restaurants and stores. I grew up in the area so I was familiar with getting around. Carina is very responsive and easy to get in touch with. The place was clean and well kept. The neighborhood is quite and we felt safe. I would definitely recommend Carina's place to stay.

Cute little house with a lot a history. We were looking for a quiet place and this house was perfect. Updated appointments, clean, and comfortable. Access to the greenway was just across the road, and we took several pleasant walks.

This place was awesome place to stay for vacation everything in the description match the place good communication and also very clean would recommend to anyone!

I would highly recommend staying at this home if you are vacationing in Virginia. The place is well built, and they did not skimp out on furnishings. The kitchen was well stocked and organized. I loved that she is dog friendly and even has supplies such as dog bowls and a gate. The sofa bed was very comfortable, and she had it ready for use when we got there. This is a super host residence.

Air b n b was exactly as advertised. Bed were comfortable We were skeptical because it was a new listing and didn’t have many reviews but don’t let that deter you! The little blue house is awesome The host are super welcoming and responsive Will definitely be back

Since this was a brand new rental with no reviews, we were a bit unsure about renting. Boy, are we happy that we did. Pam is an excellent host. She’s responsive, helpful and considerate. The house is exactly as described in the listing right down to the Christmas tree in the picture (for the season). The home is newly remodeled and immaculate. The bed we slept in was comfortable with fresh linens. The home was decorated very nice and seemed to be stocked (we did not cook) with all kitchen and bathroom essentials needed. Right down to coffee, tea and snacks in the kitchen to a toothbrush and toothpaste in the bathroom. Pam’s place is a few blocks from downtown “Mayberry”. My husband and I enjoyed the brisk several block walk. We will definitely try to stay at Pam’s place again and highly recommend it. Too bad we can’t keep this little gem a secret. Super clean, nice decoration (where are all the curtains from? Great patterns !) and a superb location - we had a little walk in nature before moving on to see Galax and the Mountain Music Centre. Very close.

My family and I rented this house while visiting family. The house was perfect for our needs and close to town. We would stay here again.

This is a beautiful, peaceful location! The house is charming and met our needs! Perfect location for us as we celebrated a loved ones wedding. Thought it might be too cold, being an older farmhouse, but the heat worked so well! (I would advice leaving the bedroom door open at night, because the return air vent is in the living room. This keeps the temp more even.) We were so glad to see coffee pot & coffee filters ready for use for our coffee loving family! Also, the shower pressure was amazing! Thank you for a wonderful time!

This is my second stay at Peggy’s and I always feel at home. I take classes in Elkin and walked everyday to downtown. The people are pleasant and the walk is easy and safe. I felt at home in Peggy’s as well as the town of Elkin. I’ll be coming back for sure!!

Very nice hillside home. Very close drive to Mt Airy/Mayberry as well easy to get to Pilot Mountain. As pictured. You enter from front deck inside to a landing where you then go down to the Living room and Kitchen area or up to the 2 bedrooms and bathroom. Was clean and not cluttered up too much with extra knickknacks. Michelle was very responsive. Thanks for a great stay.
